  1. I agree but what exactly are the police going to do about it? I'm not using this as a "have a go" at police, I'm a copper myself, but what crime has she done exactly? She not driving, so there's nothing within the Road Traffic Act. So you might be looking at a criminal damage but to prove that the police will have to convince the CPS that the offence has occurred. Therefore the following elements need to be established: Damage To Property Belonging to another That was damaged without lawful excuse Intention to cause the damage / recklessness as to whether the damage would be caused All she will say in interview is that she was unlocking her car and the trolley rolled away by accident. If the case did actually go to court then the CPS would throw it out instantly. In reality the police wouldn't turn out to it as the civvy calltaker would say that no crime had taken place. Very annoying I know but we get dozens of calls for this kind of thing every week and they never go anywhere. If she was driving then it's a totally different ball game. I was in an Asda carpark last year when a feral family decided to open their door into the side of mine, while I was sat in the car. I got out and had a verbal with them and after 10 mins of remonstrating the CHAV said he'd sort it by bringing £50 round to my house. £50 would have covered it but there was no way I was giving my details to him, as I was pretty sure there'd have been more than £50 of damage during the night of his visit.
  2. I have 4 brand new and unused Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tyres for sale. "Why are you selling brand new tyres?" I hear you ask. Well, I've just got some new 19"s for my Mk2 FL Octavia and I asked her indoors to order some tyres. I gave her the specs of 225 35 19 and she went online to try and find the cheapest ones and accidentally ordered 235 rather than 225. Not that theres anything wrong with fitting 235 to my car but I prefer 225 with slight stretch. The tyres cost £129 each plus delivery. I would send them back but the vendor is going to charge me £10 each for restocking plus my return delivery. So just before I send them back I thought I'd see if anyone fancies buying them on here and taking benefit of the price per tyre that I would get after returns - ie; I will sell them at £115 each including delivery, providing you pay the paypal fees or pay via bank transfer. So, 4 x Vredestein Ultrac Vorti 235/35 r19, 91 load, Y speed rating for £460 delivered. At Camskills 4 will set you back £528 delivered. I am happy to sell them in pairs if you prefer. I personally rate these tyres extremely highly and consider them better than Goodyear Eagle F1s in every aspect. My works vehicle is a 2012 Octavia vRS running on F1s, so I get a back to back comparison with my Octavia running on Vreds. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre-Size/19-Inch-Tyres/235-35-19-Tyres.htm
  3. They're still on the car at the min and will be removed tomorrow. So I'll get some pics ASAP. The spacers are branded but I forget where from. They were machined from billet aluminium and cost about £80 for the pair.
  4. I've got 3sdm 0.01 in 8.5 x 19 ET42. I know other styles of wheels that will fit but the 3sdm are the only ones I really wanted. Even more than I want the brembos. So something's got to go and the calipers have drawn the short straw.
  5. Thanks Dallen. I'm quietly confident someone will want them. I'd hate to see them go to another VAG vehicle.
  6. Forgot to mention, they can be collected from north East Lincolnshire. DN37 0UT
  7. Due to purchasing some new 19" wheels I am having to remove the Brembo / Porsche front caliper set up from my 2010 Octavia vRS. I fitted the kit 2 months ago and am absolutely gutted that the calipers won't fit under my new rims. I have explored every single option possible to get the wheels to fit but the only way I can do it is by fitting 10mm spacers and if I did the new wheels would protrude beyond the arches too far. The calipers were fully reconditioned and powder coated before fitting and are in full working condition. The Discs and pads have only done 1500 road miles and most of that has been on dual carriageways and motorways so hardly any braking used. The kit includes: 2 x Brembo / Porsche Boxter calipers in red with Porsche decals, part numbers: 986.351.421 and 986.351.422. They have had all the work done to them, so all you need to do is bolt them on. New Brembo bleed nippled and covers. 2 x Mounting brackets from VAGBREMTECHNIC including bolts. 2 x Pagid 312mm discs. 112 x 5 (they match the pads) 2 x pairs of Pagid brake pads. (they match the discs) They have the anti-squeal packing so you wont need the squeal shims. Trust me, they don't make a noise. 1 x Brake wear sensor (they only have one, front nearside) 2 x HEL braided brake hoses for VAG to Brembo. 2 x Hubcentric 10mm wheel spacers. (needed if you're running Skoda Neptune Wheels) All in all this kit cost me over £800 including the refurb and powder coating. The only defect is a minor scratch on the F/N/S caliper that I have touched up with a paint pen. Unfortunately due to the weight of everything, the postage isn't cheap - £40. I'll be willing to let them go for £500 if paying in cash or paypal via friend / relative etc. Or alternatively you pay the fees by sending £520 plus postage. This is the write up from another post of how it's done: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/169744-not-so-big-brake-kit-porsche-brembo-4-pot-callipers-on-vrs/
  8. Morning all! I've got a 2010 Octavia vRS FL which has had a Porsche / Brembo 4pot caliper conversion. It is currently running on the standard Neptune alloys with 10mm spacers. I've decided to purchase some 19" wheels to finish the overall look off. So, I bought a full set of 3SDM 0.01 in 19" x 8.5 with the aim of fitting 235/35 19 tyres. (I know some folks would rather go for 225 or even 215 but that's another topic) The wheels arrived today and my main worry was that they wouldn't fit over the calipers. You've guessed it, they don't! They too would require a 10mm spacer to fit properly. The only problem with this is that they would protrude beyond the front arches. The 19" are an 8.5" with an ET42 offset. The standard neptunes are 7.5 x 18 ET51. Has anyone successfully fitted 19" wheels over the top of the brembo calipers? If so, what wheels are you running (size and ET please)?
  9. I'm seriously thinking about getting some 19" wheels for my2010 vRS. I've got the Porsche / Brembo front caliper conversion on already and am running 10mm spacers on the standard Neptune alloys. I really like the look of the BMW CSL type rims and wonder if anyone knows any that will fit over the calipers without spacers. Or other wheel suggestions.
  10. A cambelt and water pump etc from skoda is £459 including vat, fixed pricing. Got mine done by an Audi master tech who's set up independently, for £269 all in using genuine parts.
  11. Haven't got any pics but 10mm would be my advice. I've got 10mm on the front of my fl, porsche brakes required them. I was quite surprised how much difference it made to the width. Looks lots more than 10mm
  12. Contrary to above comment about leaning in to the corner, don't. Lean your body towards the outside of the bend. Almost everyone leans in to the corner to try and keep the kart flat. The major issue with this is the solid rear axle. Not too much of an issue on fast bends but on slow stuff the rear axle will try and make the kart drive straight. If you lean out it'll flex the chassis and help to lift an inside wheel, making the kart turn easier, reducing drag on the inside wheel and helping the engine power up. Relax your upper body and let your torso weight press against the outer side if the of the seat.
  13. Well, I'm plugged in to VCDS, gone to "Select Control Module", 17 - Instruments, Adaptions - 10 and had a good search down the list but there are several options that "could" be for adjustment, nothing obvious. However, whenever I select the options I get "ERROR - Channel not available" Hmmmmm. Any suggestions
  14. Cheers guys. Yes I've checked the mpg over the last few months using the brim technique. It's been reading high on every occasion. I'll give it a go.
  15. Please can someone advise me how to adjust the MPG on the OBC for the above vehicle? Mine is reading approx 2.5mpg high. Thanks
  16. I can certainly vouch for the quality and power of the porsche caliper conversion. As previously mentioned, they fit under zeniths without spacers. Neptune require 10mm spacers.
  17. I'm with you on all the above but I'm just not a fan of spending 7p or 10p per litre extra on the ultra type fuels. Especially when I do my shopping at Tesco and have been taking advantage of 20p per litre savings for the past few months. An extra 2p per litre added to the tank with millers or similar works for me. As previously mentioned by others, I'm not really in for the performance gains, it's more for the cleaning properties and keeping everything sweet. Interesting read though.
  18. As per the title, or has mine been stolen? Washed my car today and found the F/O/S foglight trim was missing. I had a "spirited" drive home last night and suspect it may have come off with the wind pressure but I very much doubt it. So I strongly suspect someone has half inched it!!!
  19. I've been getting wound up by this for years. Common sense would dictate that after 11pm all traffic lights should default to a permanent amber and be treated as a give way junction. It would keep things flowing and probably safer. The yanks have a good idea by letting road users turn right on a red light if it's clear to give way. Obviously that would be left in the UK.
  20. Does anyone here use this stuff? I've been using the diesel power eco max additive for the past 5 years now. I can't say I use it for the power increases as I don't really think there are any noticeable gains but it certainly gives a leaner burn and keeps everything inside a bit cleaner. Any thoughts?
  21. Where's the pollen filter located on a 2010 FL vRS tdi? Cheers in advance
  22. Will this work with a Columbus system without mfsw?
  23. Not sure why folks are asking why skoda aren't making a hot Fabia etc. they already do the octavia. Next time you're out park up next to a new focus, they're a big car these days. Only a few inches shorter than a MK2 octavia.
  24. No problem at all, it was £450 including vat. If you're nearby to Friskney just drop in and see them. I'm pretty sure you won't regret using them.
