  1. Me too. I have FK Street coilovers (£190 off eBay ) Probably not the best for comfort when compared to the more expensive brands however I love them. Mine are also fully wound down on the front ( with helper springs still in ) and I've used different drop links which came free with the order. The drop links are needed or you risk the chance of the arb rubbing on drive shaft.
  2. As above^ Since blanking off my EGR, I noticed I have lost coolant and wondered if the two were linked? I have only blanked the EGR by the right hand side EGR pipe and no where else. Thanks.
  3. However for a service you can buy a OEM set off eBay including oil filter, air filter, pollen filter and fuel filter for £20-£25 then just £21 for the oil. So yeah full service for £40 I do the above however I use Shell Helix Ultra extra which is £35.
  4. None at all. Which is rather annoying considering the amount of cars there are in scrap yards. A few have sounded really hopeful and then they ask petrol or diesel. So seems to be plenty for petrols but none for diesels. I've tried all the part places online too. If it was a major problem then I'd order a new one tonight from your guys in Swindon however since the only problem it causes is a slight oil leak, I am against spending £400-500 this close to Xmas! I will keep you updated however
  5. Blackcircles.com And select Goodyears efficient grip performance tyre. Great all rounder, I've even done track days with no problems and excellent grip in the wet.
  6. The only reason I can think of is the fuel tank is located at the back of the car? But I don't actually know.
  7. It's started leaking from near the swirl flaps and the only cure is deffo only a new manifold. Also I have a plastic one ( which is why the ones after my car are now metal! )
  8. I'm in need of a new inlet manifold and I have the option of buying a new one ( with great help from Aston Bodger ) However if one is cheap enough I wanted to try second hand. My question is what other cars share the same inlet manifold as the 2007 diesel octavia vRS? One of the scrap yards suggested a Passat which I told him I thought was incorrect and I'm more looking down the Leon FR route or such like??
  9. As title - below the inlet manifold you have the EGR and below the EGR you have a big black hose/pipe. What is this pipe for?
  10. Why is there so much conflicting information on the Internet? Is it deffo 100% safe/okay to just blank off the EGR on the pipe on the right hand side? Or does it need blanking off at a second place too?
  11. Okay I'm going to order a 3mm steel blanking plate to fit to the right hand side the EGR ( the metal pipe ) One last thing if you don't mind, You have the EGR and above that the inlet manifold and to the right of the EGR you have the EGR pipe - not a problem. But what is the black hose/pipe connected to the bottom of the EGR?
  12. Brilliant I really appreciate your detailed answer! If I was to fit a blanking plate would that not build up lots of exhaust gas pressure in the EGR pipe and eventually damage something? Or is it perfectly fine to have it blanked?
  13. Blanking an EGR on the PD170. I cannot find a accurate oe definit answer anywhere. What is the best option when it comes to an EGR delete? Do you just blank off the one pipe next to the EGR valve or are you meant to fit a EGR delete pipe? So many different theories. Also apart from more Nox and longer warm up times are there any cons to a EGR delete? Thanks.
  14. Had my car in today and my injector seals need replacing as they are allowing fuel to run back to the tank over night. £367+vat for everything including labour and ecu wiring loom on the cylinder heads.
  15. If I blank the EGR I would like it fully blanked not just the plate with the whole in it. I'm already running a Stage 1 Shark but yes I know they could adapt my map to remove my EML light. Where is best to blank it from though? Also inlet manifold cleaning? Any info on that anyone.
  16. Car is a 2007 vRS tdi and I wondered if there was a guide to removing the inlet manifold and cleaning it. Also I'm going to blank the EGR. What is best reccomended? Just the quick 2min blanking plate on the metal pipe next to the EGR or should I blank it off from the turbo? Thanks.
  17. EGR is quite possible tbh' My TDI is on 127,000 miles so I imagine the egr is well and truely full of crud. It's going to an Indy tomorrow for a full check plus checking for faults via vag com. I shall mention the EGR Thank you.
  18. Okay thank you for your tip so far. Have you got a rough location where this engine temp sensor is located or what it looks likes?
  19. I've previously posted and never got a definite answer however the car has now developed another sign. My car struggles to start first time each day despite weather or time and any time after that it starts fine. However now when it struggles to start and eventually does start, i get a load of white smoke come out the exhaust. I have a new battery and glow plugs. What is causing my car to struggle so bad to start? Once it's started it runs and ticks over fine. Just that initial start. Many thanks guys.
  20. I'm finally going to get this sorted once and for all. Just before I go and purchase a new inlet manifold. Would replacing the seals not stop my leak? Ebay: 130933884494 Thanks.
  21. Yes your down pipe is part of your exhaust system. It's the second part of the system located near the front of the car just after the manifold but before your center section so more than likely a straight through down pipe would be also known as a de-cat. Hope that clears that up a touch.
  22. I really really should read the previous posts BEFORE I post my 10 pence lol. Considering it's a 1.9, who knows. Good luck!
