  1. I'm sure I've seen pics of video playing on a Bolero from an Sd card - just can't find the relevant post at the moment. I can't see a setting for gapless playback, but I'm getting this issue even when playing a normal album, ie one with 2-3 second gaps between songs. The first second or so of music is missing, very annoying. Anyone know why? Haven't tried it yet but from other posts I think you can just copy over the folders from your music library, ie Artist/Album/songs - I'd be happy with that, no need to browse by genre etc.
  2. 1. Can you play video from it on a Bolero? I see differing opinions on the forum... 2. Is the sound quality identical to music played via Mitsumi from an iPod? 3. When one song ends the start of the next track is cut off by around one second. The same music plays perfectly via the iPod. Is this normal? 4. Is there any way to enable a browse by artist etc function, or do you just always see a folder/file list? I'm using a 64GB Transcend SD card, formatted as exFAT. SDXC and a transfer rate of 20MB/s
  3. Perfectly, thanks Neil. I'm in Ireland so prices possibly a bit higher but sounds like it's still worth doing. I take it you are a fan of space savers? A lot don't appear to be but for me they make sense.
  4. Finding their website quite hard to navigate if you're looking for these - do they def do *cradles* for phones in cases? I'm having a look for the iphone 5s in a Griffin Defender and nothing jumping out so far...
  5. This may be a silly question but as I understand it the Brodit mounts your phone in front of the air vent. Quite possibly the worst place you could choose unless you want your phone to fry on a cold Winters day, or are you forced to not use the vent at all?
  6. I'm not really into tyres but kind of get your drift. The current tyres are:- Continental 205/55 r 16 v The wheel is 17" across and the tyres measure approx 220 mm wide The space saver will be around 185mm you say - can anyone confirm or even better a pic of one in situ in the boot? I see the full tyres for sale for around £70 so I'd be willing to pay probably that and a bit more for a space saver + tyre combo, considering I'll get a full spare. The scrappie idea sounds like it could be worth pursuing.
  7. I'm new to the iphone. It's a great phone but 2 big issues - battery life(need to charge twice daily) and fragility Putting both of these factors into the mix, I can't believe it's hard to find a charging cradle that will take a padded phone - they would fly off the shelves...
  8. Any idea how much roughly? They wrongly supplied a full spare on my car, but I was planning to keep it and just source a cheap space saver to use in the car, rahter than ask them to swap it for me.
  9. That looks almost ideal - you also have to buy a Brodit mount to screw it onto? There is just one showstopper though - my iphone is new, but I intend to get a shockproof case for it. The Brodit says it will only take an iphone without one - is there any other charging cradle out there which will take a padded iphone?
  10. Anyone know if Skoda will supply as a separate item, or is there anywhere else to try? Have tried a couple of wheel suppliers, but they don't do the space savers.
  11. Agree the manual leaves a lot to be desired. Think multiple re-readings will be required.
  12. I just use my old window sucker job from my last car - I'm not as fussy as some I did a little research though, since one thing that I find annoying is having to plug the charge cable in all the time. Far as I could see no one makes a charging cradle, certainly not for the iphone. Was looking for something similar to the old Nokia car phone mount, where you just bang the phone into the cradle and it's charging, no fishing around with cables. Anyone know if you can get similar for the iphone?
  13. Just poured a few beads of water on the back seat and they just soaked immediately into the fabric. If he swears blind it was applied then what can I do?
  14. He just verbally told me it was a freeby - any idea how much this would cost? He def said it covered paintwork and interior. I can't see any stickers on the car at all and didn't get any paperwork Of course - he may have been spoofing....
  15. Just got the new car. The dealer told me that both the interior and paintwork has been treated with a protector. Don't think he specifically gave a name but it sounded similar to a Scotchgard type of job. Is there any way of telling if this has been done, or should he be giving me any paperwork or warranty docs?
  16. Ok thanks all - had a play and now I see what you mean - it's working fine. Just getting used to the car, it's a little more advanced on the electronics front than my last car, a (only) 7 year old Mondeo, which really was like a 70s Cortina in comparison
  17. I understand that and as I say the trip and milometer in the maxidot does toggle correctly. I'm not using the steering wheel control though, I'm going into the "Units" setting on the Bolero and changing it there. I can't see how it would work, since all I've got is a traditional speed dial marked in km only.
  18. Probably is a waste of time but just curious to play with it. The buttons are there but don't seem to do a whole lot. If the option wasn't enabled would the buttons not be left out?
  19. So if you saw it working then how exactly does it operate? If there's km and miles on the dial then surely no need for fancy electronics?
  20. Digital speedo...mmm where's that? My car just seems to have a regular dial one
  21. Car is brand new and I see the "voice" buttons on the Bolero and also on the steering wheel so thought would have a play. Following the manual, I first press the button on the Bolero. This flashes up an icon which is like a speaker with a red line half through it. Next you're told to press the steering wheel button - this does nothing at all. Am I doing something wrong or could it be faulty - or set to Gaelic
  22. It only shows km. Probably just for the Irish market. When I toggle the speed setting the needle stays at the same point. Seems odd when the tripometer display changes to "mi" and records correctly
  23. On my new Octavia if you toggle this setting it works fine for the milometer and trip meter. However it doesn't make any difference at all to the speedo - I'm in Ireland btw so the default setting is km - but miles will be nice to have when visiting the UK. Anyone know if this should work?
  24. Can't manage this with mine, it's always visible even when tucked under, and anyway the big data cable plugged into a socket with "MEDIA IN" labelled in very large letters gives the game away. Just about the only design flaw I can see on the car so far
  25. This is interesting. I've just taken delivery of a new Octavian and there appears to be no paperwork telling you exactly what the car comes with. There is a voice control button on the steering wheel but nothing happens when you press it. Reading the manual doesn't appear to help, so no way of knowing if it's faulty or not enabled or what...
