  1. MQ350 gearbox on the VRS mk2 PD170 and gear linkage fitted today 8J0 711 046 E was the newer part number Not really a short shifter as this was discussed on many VW and Audi forums but but reduces throw about 13mm in total Brought the gearknob head 5mm in closer from the dash end and 8mm from the opposite handbrake end It is definitely an improvement with nice, slightly quicker shifts that seem better suited to the hand use not the whole arm being used £32 from TPS and very easy to fit The hardest part was fishing the 13mm socket out that fell onto the undertray :p
  2. 8J0 711 046 B fits the MQ350 gearbox which is the 2008 VRS PD170 Will give update when ordered and fitted
  3. Seriously? Who gives a **** with all the "this and that" nonsense? The guy above only wanted to know about recommended mappers for his Fabia
  4. I would use R-tech for live mapping with a car like this with mods
  5. Hi lads can you tell me the part number for this part as a few a floating around now 2008 octavia
  6. Get it serviced properly including the fuel filter Make sure all tyres are correctly inflated Get a 4 wheels alignment, ie: a Hunter alignment Use shell, BP or another main brand fuel Also make sure the car is getting up to temperature fairly quickly and the thermostat is going to halfway within say 5 miles of steady driving This usually indicates the main thermostat is opening ok and not stuck open Let me know how you get on
  7. i didn't notice any rubber seals on the cooler parts themselves, only the usual o-rings on the screw in parts below and top where the filter goes
  8. I was trying to find out if anyone else on here had drained their cooler as well I didn't realise how much old oil stayed in the cooler housing underneath the filter housing The oil will now be a lot cleaner as the other TDi we have has had EGR turned off and oil is really clean
  9. For a full change drain the oil cooler as well, you will be surprised how much extra oil comes out The car then took a full 5 litres of oil, and that took it just upto 3mm over the max level I did this yesterday after completely cleaning the EGR system (now coded out) and inlet manifold, both were full of huge gummy soot deposits I am looking forward to cleaner oil for a good while
  10. Hi lads can you tell me the part number for this part as a few a floating around now the car is a 2008 VRS Tdi https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=8J0711046E&safe=off&es_sm=122&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=1p8eVbTiJZb1armngfAJ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg&biw=1920&bih=989 is this it exactly? 11. nice one. you know its ****** when Mercedes or BMW have not invented it first
  12. if the mats can be sent i will be interested. PM me please so we can arrange something
  13. Maybe the post above yours is how he buckled the Neptunes and didn't tell you? I did have some front calipers off the same guy a while back with no issues though
  14. 57.1 bore compared to your 66.5-6, I assume its the recent Allroad? The offset on these is ET51, Wrong tyres for your Allroad, will reduce the rolling diameter by quite a large percentage as they have 225/40/18 or 235/40/18
  15. i never pushed them hard enough to be fair but they seemed very good i think good fluid is key to good brakes also and change every 6 months/1 year
  16. hi mate, maybe take the refurbish and straighten hit on the chin? I have had to do this in the past when wheel had small buckes on them, I could have asked for some money off but it would have been grief Maybe put a warning in all the posts/threads that you shared Keep us posted
