  1. Buying a random brand of shocks from Ali Express is certainly a brave choice. Had a colleague who was cheap and ordered some headlight bulbs from the same site. These were the results!
  2. Plusgas is a penetrating oil, used to help loosen seized components e.g. nuts and bolts. For the issue above WD40 or GT85 will probably work just as well. Depends which one you prefer the smell of.
  3. Not a superb, but my MK3 Octy has a rattle from the seatbelt mounting point in the B pillar, the one that can be adjusted for height. Really annoying as its at ear level. Only affects me as I have it at the highest setting, whilst my wife has it at the lowest setting and its fine. I just turn the stereo up 😀
  4. Had a similar issue with my Octavia. Got a rear cluster from Euro Car Parts. Just checked and £126 for a 16 plate superb. Oh yeah and another vote for not not notifying the insurance company.
  5. The postcode input is predictive. So if you put an invalid postcode in e.g. ZZ then no numbers will be enabled as there is no postcode starting ZZ. Asking the obvious question, you definitely tried the same postcode when you tested it again later? For the random routing it tries to get traffic info via RDS or some such, I forget the details. It's not great but if it thinks there is traffic on your route it may be recalculating and trying to redirect you. But that doesn't explain why it stopped you in the estate. Maybe it decided you needed a rest?
  6. To be fair, if they're telling the truth, then all of those are service items, so no need to reject the car. However I do find it weird that garages don't do all that stuff, before putting the car up for sale.
  7. I'd guess that one of the issues with your poor mpg is the short duration of your journey doesn't really allow the car to get up to its ideal operating temperature. I had a 15 mile commute, before Covid, that was 1 mile local roads, 9 miles NSL dual carriageway then 4 miles city centre traffic. My diesel never got great mpg on that run when compared to the motorway. You may find a petrol is better as the engine will get up to operating temperature quicker than a diesel. Plus you know a 272/280 will generally be more fun 😀
  8. Don't worry, I stopped being lazy and googled it :-). Seems it's to add silica over time to the coolant as the G13 comes with the minimum amount. Is supposed to stop galvonic corrosion.
  9. Sorry, probably being a bit dense here but what's the intended purpose of the silica bag?
  10. My MK3 Octavia has them in the head lining just behind the rear view mirror. Shines a bit of light onto the gear stick area. Only an elegance so not mega spec.
  11. Just had a look at that link and got promoted to sign up to their mailing list for £300 of the next order. So if you are buying, it looks like you can save a chunk of money.
  12. Am I being a bit dense here. But isn't the head unit limited to supporting one device at a time? So even if you do connect both you'll only be able to use one? Sorry just trying to understand the problem you're trying to solve?
  13. I've been following the prices of second hand 280 and 272 superbs for over a year now. Like most cars they seem to have had a Covid tax hike and there don't seem to be as many available as there were a year or so back. That being said the price of that car looks pretty good. Only question, the advert doesn't mention canton, are you sure it comes with it. TBF the advert also says in the tech specs that it's 218 bhp 🙄
