  1. The standard 16 inch size 215/45 is even less common than the 215/40R17. So unlikely to be cheap, although on our Ibiza they definitely ride much nicer than any Rapid on 17s. 15s look too small to me, but should give the best ride ( tyre choice dependent of course) and are cheapest. Standard size is 185/60R15 which it seems is more widely used than the other 2.
  2. This weekend on TV: F1 @Spa, WSB, Indycar, BTCC, V8 Supercars, NASCAR, Japan Super Formula
  3. Renault abandoning Racing Point appeal. Ferrari the only ones left.
  4. Turkey confirmed rather than Jerez, so we have ended up with a 17 race calendar. I must say sorry for doubting the Chief Executive a few months back.
  5. It's often been the case that the gamblers at the front have had to pit from lap 195 onwards and ended up nearly a lap behind the winner.
  6. It would be nice but there's never been a RHD Corvette so far in 65 years. Maybe it would be easier in this mid-engined one though. I bet GM will look at how many RHD Mustangs have been shifted in UK, Australia and Asian markets before making a decision.
  7. Poor old Mir after being over 2 seconds ahead didn't have a new front tyre left to put on for the restart. The others all had fresh rubber.
  8. NASCAR does extend the race under those circumstances, but most Indy teams at the 500 are going to run out of fuel if it goes to 201 or 202 laps.
  9. Don't have sports channels unfortunately so just watched YouTube highlights. Nice to see if Pol has actually reined in his grumpy side. Hard to say this- but MotoGP is much more exciting without Marquez this year.
  10. Good race - really enjoyed it. Dixon has now 4 times finished 2nd under safety car. As the greatest current Indycar driver it does seem he and his team have a tactical blind spot. They needlessly let Sato pass whilst saving fuel and just couldn't get back to the front. Alonso was nowhere, even though his young teammates were both fast enough to run near the front.
  11. Did Pol bottle it? A race that was totally Joan Mir's by right was then presented to Pol#44 or Miller#43 after the restart but they tripped over each other and Olivera got his maiden victory. So now Pol isn't even going to be the second rider to win on a KTM? Will he ever win?
  12. Sounds more like North West England rather than Normandy. Fabinho's place was done over while he was celebrating Liverpool's title win at Anfield.
  13. Marquez out for likely another 2 to 3 months whilst arm heals. Future teammate Pol meanwhile gains KTM their first MotoGP pole at RedBull Ring today.
  14. And a little known race from Indianapolis that's been running for nearly 110 years...
  15. WILLIAMS SOLD to American investors.
  16. Qually/Party mode ban delayed until Monza. Hamilton says that in fact it's so bad for the engine life that not using it for the usual 5 laps a meeting will actually let him run higher than normal power for 25 race laps.
  17. Power Maxed Racing Astra will be back at Oulton with Mike Bushell at the wheel. No Plato or Jackson though.
  18. This weekends highlights MotoGP and BTCC on 22Aug. Also NASCAR, Australian V8 Supercars, and Japan Super GT.
  19. Speculation growing that Wolff will replace the dubiously competent Carey as F1 CEO. Signs are that Toto is leaving Daimler-Benz at the end of this season or next.
  20. Chevrolet closer to being competitive on Sunday on race trim, but Marco Andretti has been fastest in Dad's Dallara Honda on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In 5 days of practice and qually, he's been in P2 P3 P1 P1 P1. Ominously quick.
  21. Montoya reportedly eyeing up Le Mans to complete the triple crown also.
  22. Andretti on pole. First pole for the family since his grandpa's last one, even though half a dozen of them have tried since.
  23. Beyond Scary. Almost killed both Yamaha riders. Otherwise though MotoGP is so much more unpredictable and exciting this season without #93. Dorna really should pay Marc to stay at home all year to recuperate. Watching Hondas new signing Pol losing his temper every week is well amusing too. What a petulant little sod he is. I don't expect him to be a happy bunny at Honda either to be honest
  24. Even better, the team he had agreed to join (until Honda vetoed it) have all 3 slots on the front row at the moment.๐Ÿ˜€
  25. Alonso 26th in first Qualifying. Chevrolet's slow across the board. Yesterday he could've done with a Honda๐Ÿ˜€ who took 8 of the top 9 grid slots... Oh... but they told him to go f##k himself, and refused to let any of their teams give him a drive๐Ÿ˜‚
