What have you done to your Superb III today?
coppertop replied to boydeee's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Did you ever install the remote rear set release, or have I missed the update? -
Yes, much quieter, by a big margin. But, the caveat is I am comparing going from winters to summer tyres. These Riken tyres are really quiet, I hadn’t heard of them before and I am one for branded tyres, but would be interested to hear any other opinions abut this make of tyre?

I’ve just dropped from Trinity 19’s to Zenith 18’s and found the ride comfort much better. I found a bargain set of 4 genuine Zeniths on facebook for £250, with tyres, (chap had up-graded to 19” Vega’s) but this Riken brand, apparently made my Michelin in the EU, will need to be replaced fairly soon. The difference in price between the 19 and 18 tyre wasn’t as much as I expected £162 against £130 (ish). I’m glad I changed as there is a noticeable difference in ride quality, but I have running winter tyres (on 17’s) until a few weeks ago, so these do seem quiet in comparison!

Off road wheels and tyres

I have 17’s as winter tyres on my 4x4 2.0Tsi, not much room but they do fit. -
What are these cut-out for?
coppertop replied to Berisford's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
I NEVER knew that about the load cover, all those times I have put behind the front seats or left in the house! Does it mention in the manual somewhere about this storage? -
Combi luggage compartment
coppertop replied to coppertop's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
No, these are glued to the inside of the lid. My previous car had those Velcro type holders, but this car doesn’t. It’s just ideal curiosity that prompts me to ask. -
I have always wondered what these are for in the rear luggage compartment, any ideas? They are on the inside of the right rear cubby hole,

Goodbye vRS…hello Superb Scout!
coppertop replied to Item's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
I think that looks fantastic, if available in the UK, I would be in line to purchase one! I don’t really understand why it has not been offered over here? -
The Superb III Picture thread

@SkR7What is the small badge on the tailgate -S54? -
This is taken from the Skoda motorsport site and refers to the facelift version….The most distinctive feature of the SCOUT version is the rough road package, which is fitted as standard. It includes the lower engine cover, sill covers and a ground clearance increase of 15 mm. For driving in genuine wilderness, the SCOUT offers, on top of the standard-fitted 4x4 system, a new Offroad mode for the Driving Mode Select. Optionally, it can also be equipped with a DCC adaptive suspension with adjustable damper stiffness.

Alcantara Factory Accessory - Opinions
coppertop replied to woody_747's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Though I like the look of the alcantara, I don’t think they very practical. Greasy hands from hand sanitiser etc and other small amounts of dirt will mark it. A friend has one on an Aston and has resorted to wearing driving gloves to stop it marking any further! The one in the link is quite a bargain……if you are going to change it anyway. -
Front Brake Caliper - 280
coppertop replied to numskull's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
As has been discussed before, you could change the disc to a 340mm, (which is the largest you can fit without any other modifications) from the Golf Clubsport or Audi S3?, part number 5Q0615301C. -
Ordered mine from Milotec and they look good, almost like true 272/280 tips and they are really easy to fit!

Streaks in Passenger side windows
coppertop replied to stubie141258's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
I had a similar problem on a car parked at barracks in Didcot, it was the fallout from the power station! Had to remove it with T-cut as nothing else would work. -
Sportline 280-JB4+catback dyno run
coppertop replied to MarioVrs's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
On the Steinbauer tune, I would be expecting 332hp and 420Nm or a least that’s what they advertise the increase is. It’s a similar set up to the JB4, plug and play and removable if you wish to sell on. You shouldn’t have any issues with the torque if you’re not doing launches every 5 minutes. @newbie69 has a good handle on these things and from what I can read he wouldn’t be too worried about those levels through the DQ250 gearbox. You posted pictures from the Dyno run, but these are ‘only’ figures, can you feel the difference, are you happy with the feel or was the lack of neck snapping acceleration the reason you wanted to check things out? I would guess at that level of torque, mid-range pulling power would be really noticeable. -

Isn’t 330 hp about what most tuners give as an increase with stage 1, but I think the torque figure is pretty impressive. As an earlier post on max torque for which gearbox suggested (400 Nm for the DQ250) that’s getting on for 475 Nm! -
Go onto the Skoda car configuration portal and select the Canopus black alloy wheels in the option for the Superb Estate, not exactly the same but you can get an idea from the gallery what they may look like? Looks mean with the all black wheels!

I would be f+^%"** furious about this, totally unacceptable to drive a customers' car in this manner, but let the dealership see the video and then they can make a judgement. If that doesn't get some action tell them you will give the video to the media to name and shame them. BUT, what do want to achieve at the end of all this apart from a deserved apology, financial compensation, free services, get someone sacked? As I said I would NOT be happy, but to be honest I don't know what would placate me in such an instance, take to another dealership in future, sometimes easier to say than do if they are 100's kms apart. Good luck and I hope that you get to some kind of resolution.

Skoda Superb Estate Mk3 4x4
coppertop replied to SteveCornwall's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
As @Kenny Rsays it's down to tyres. There isn't that much ground clearance to take it off-road, but going onto a field at a car/horse show the 4x4 drive-train has it's advantages. Certainly got out of field at Gatcombe easily when other were really struggling. I away change to winter tyres in October, so with 4x4 and 'winter's i would have to be pretty unlucky to get stuck, unless really deep snow when the car would belly out and lose traction anyway. Auto the way to go IMO, for off-road Land Rover development drivers always preferred auto as it's one less thing to think about. -
Driver's seat 2016 2.0 se business
coppertop replied to Alane20's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Alan, I would be looking at breakers on ebay/gumtree etc. The frame is most likely generic to all seats so just swap the frame over if you are reasonably handy with the spanners. -
Front and rear, rear all in 'green' zone. O/S/F marginally out on camber and as said N/S/F out on caster as well, everything else OK. Wonder if you took it to a dealer they even have the facilities or experience to adjust the caster angle if messing with the sub-frame is involved?
