  1. Thanks, did manage to straighten it, with care and while not perfect all fine now. Oh and disappointed you didn't get the FoW car as was looking forward to modifications you would make, though sure you will find some with the new one.
  2. Hi, I have bent one of the rods (part is made of 2 chrome hollow rods joined with a plastic piece in the middle) that are fixed to the underside of the boot floor and it's now not working correctly :-( Does anyone know if this has a part number and can it be purchased separately? I will try to straighten but worried I could make worse and then would have real issues, being clumsy as my wife always tells me!
  3. Hi, So at 40K I need new front discs and pads, a job I would normally tackle myself. However, looking through the forum and guides I can't see any information about their replacement and what's involved. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to look for the information and/or an idiots guide of how to go about it. I am fairly handy with the spanners, but not had a car with so much DCC this, front radar that, electronic hows-your-father etc..and don't want to bugger the car for want of asking! Thanks in advance....
  4. It's a job I am looking to do myself, but don't have easy access to to VCDS as I understand you have to run the pump after re-fitting?
  5. Mitchell Skoda for me as well. Good experience with them on my previous Superb II and just had the one service on the Superb III and that was good as well. Did try Lookers in Stockport, I shall never venture through their front door ever again!
  6. No, not yet. Now I know what it is and the wheels aren't going to drop off, I'll wait until I take it in for service. Definitely worse in the cold weather as never noticed before in the summer.
  7. StadiGo, thanks for the information of the cold weather precautions, quite fancy a trip in mine up to the Artic circle 😎 I am using FK1000P wax to protect which seems to be lasting really well at the moment.
  8. Fantastic photo from Lapland. In such extreme conditions do fuel companies supply diesel with a lower freezing point? What other precautions do you need to take to run a vehicle at these temperatures?
  9. Thank goodness this topic reappeared! Have been crawling under the car, with DCC, looking for damaged or loose rear suspension. The noise is exactly as described and shown on the videos. My car, bought in July last year from an approved dealership, is 2016, L&K with DCC, so the question is, will this be repaired under extended Skoda warranty, or have I missed that boat? Is the 'fix' now working and if I absolutely have to pay, what is the cost to have these bushes replaced? Thanks
  10. Oh... and in all the promotional pictures / videos it is badged as a Superb!
  11. Thanks KennyR, not had failed warningse before and reset the system as per owners manual, so think I got that correct, but it triggered 3 times. Will wait and see when I refit the 19's next spring.
  12. Evening all, How sensitive is the TPS on the car? Had a failure of a P7 235/40/19 and had to have a new one fitted (F/N/S), Since then the TPS has pinged a couple of times, but all is well with the pressure, could it be the circumference differential that is causing the problem between the new and old tyres. Fitted winter tyres and rims (215/55/17) this weekend and no alerts...as yet. Advice, and thoughts please. CT
  13. Had the same problem with my tailgate, intermittently not working, would release from the key fob and interior button but wouldn't fully open. Released both struts, at the tailgate end only, supporting the tailgate and laid the the struts down, then pressed the tailgate button, could clearly see one strut spinning OK but the other (offside) clicking and stopping, obviously this was the culprit. It's clear that only one working strut can't either open or close the tailgate. Now for a replacement, Skoda about £350 each, must be another way! Checked eBay in both UK and Germany by using the part number search and a couple of used ones appeared on the German eBay site for just over £150 for 2 struts delivered to the UK, got to be worth a gamble? They arrived within 3 days and both were working, result! I had already removed the interior trim from the C pillar, the trim clips (metal type springs) were very tight and the wiring could been seen, two connectors and the strut loom identified by being wrapped in black fabric loom tape. Just fitted and everything back to normal, fully operational tailgate!!
  14. Another problem that has just appeared on my 2011 Elegance 170 estate, split wires in the drivers door rubber grommet. A phone call to Mitchell Skoda with a resume of the faults (non-working windows from drivers side, mirror adjustment inop', puddle light out and alarm triggering), elicited the response they would need to investigate. Quick Google and low and behold information is that this is a common fault on Yeti and Fabia where wires split due to opening and closing or drivers door. Prised rubber from A pillar and orange/brown and orange/black wire both broken! Did manage a temporary repair with some small gauge wire and all now working, but will need a more permanent fix as several of the other wires are also split and could fail at some future time.
  15. Same problem for me, but it was just the rear window surrounds (fixed side windows) on the kombi that were affected. Took to Lookers Stockport and they were replaced under warranty without issue. They had the car 2 days (booked in for 1 day) as they were expecting just the chrome trim to arrive, but when the part arrived, it's a complete section, chrome trim and glass that needs to be bonded!! Can't complain at all as wasn't out of pocket and courtesy car provided. Have to say that the replacement is holding out much better, maybe a change of supplier or production method?
  16. Cheers for that. Strange though when I was looking at the Whispbar site before I bought them they were showing S54 as the correct one's for the combi? They will fit, just, but would have liked a bit more flexibility for adjusting on the rails.
  17. Hi, I purchased the whispbar S54 from ebay, but the front bar is a very tight fit. I don't know if the listing was incorrect, if I recall it was originally on a Mercedes C class estate. I did check and S54 was the correct one for the superb estate at the time (since changed to S44?) can anyone advise on this? There are 2 small stickers on the underside of each of the bars each showing 2F2 if that helps?
  18. New to this forum, but to chuck my 10p's worth, I have been running Vredstein Quatrac 3 225/40/18 All Seasons since December of last year. Bought specifically for journey's to Germany and done about 20K (miles) on them and they are about 60% worn on front and 40% on rear. Not noticed any great difference in grip levels over the Conti's that were on the car before. Just back from Spain where temps were 30+ and again grip / traction / noise all acceptable on these All Seasons.
  19. Have been lurking on this site for sometime after purchasing my super Superb a couple of years ago, so glad I chose over the Passat I was considering! Always liked my cars and bikes both modern and classic and more than pleased with this car. No major changes to the car, just re-badged with Superb III logos and have been running All Season Vredstein Quatrac 3's (225/40/18) for the last year. Will get more specific on the Superb forum. Cheers.
