Can anyone tell me how to disconnect the glove box so I can access the fuses?

Does anyone know how to update maps on the infotainment system? Also why isn’t the shop showing on the menu.? I subscribed to the data service and Skoda connect but none of the apps work, traffication etc. is it a scam?

My car has wireless android after the software update. Had to fiddle about a bit with settings on my pixel4 but it works fine.

I bought a Škoda approved Octavia 4 tech 1.5 tsi with 10k on the clock. I took it back after a few days due to brake judder. It needed front discs, pads and wheel bearings. This was a car that had been serviced prior to collection the dealer said that they don’t road test used vehicles! The good news is the dealer replaced everything free of charge and also updated the software but I am still getting the sos problem. The car makes a popping sound then dials sos!

I hope someone replies to your post I would be very interested in a response.

No not for winter tyres I just hate the 16” Velorum wheels with balloon tyres that came with the car.

Is it the original chrome strip? Do you have any photos?

Thanks everyone for your reply’s to my question. It seems far too complicated importing the wheels from the EU now after brexit. I can’t see any advantage financially. Think I will buy from the dealership unless I can source some pre owned ones. Thanks again!

I was thinking of buying some Rotare Alloys complete with tyres on eBay. They are in Germany does anyone know how much VAT and customs will be charged? Just wondering if it is financially viable to import them.

Does anyone know why the shop logo doesn’t display on the infotainment menu? It was present a few weeks ago but has disappeared and not returned.

I thought it would be plastic but I would be ok with that. I would like to know if there is an aftermarket or an original part.

I hope someone has an answer for this I am interested in getting the front chrome trim too.

Had this issue myself prior to the software update not since but I still get the popping sound occasionally and the car dials sos then reverts to normal a few minutes later.

Once my car had been in for the software update android auto connected by Wi-Fi immediately. My car is a 2020 1.5 TSI. Prior to the update I had to connect with a cable.

Now here’s an odd thing. Got in the car this morning and the start up menu asked me for my s pin this has never happened before typed it in and then it connected to my profile! It’s like it has a life of its own😀

Mine went down yesterday after popping sounds and dialling sos by itself. It’s had the software upgrade and seemed to be ok. I did the reset and I can only log on as a guest. Hopefully it’s an issue with the server being off line. Maybe in a few days it will be functional again, but I doubt it!

I got the update around 3 to 4 weeks ago everything was fine until yesterday when I heard the popping noise from the screen then it dialled sos of its own volition. Then the sat nav went haywire. When I reached my destination I reset the unit by holding down the on/off button. Since then It won’t connect me as primary user just guest. Does anyone know a solution for this I have tried everything but no luck.

Just checked mine is working ok. I’ve had the updates a couple of weeks ago.

For some reason the dealer didn’t know why, mine came with silver velorum 16” wheels. To be honest even twister looks better than them! I really like rotare and Perseus but I think it may be better to wait until spring. You can get secondhand ones on eBay including tyres from Germany but postage is £80 and vat/duty is payable even though they are secondhand due to Brexit.

We keep the keys in the tin as a security measure. Thieves can grab the signal using specialist equipment whilst remaining outside the house open the car and steal it.

I have a mk4 Business Tech estate the alloys are awful 16” really spoils the look of the car. Does anyone have any affordable replacement suggestions?

My wife has a Tiguan R Line with kessy we keep our keys when not in use in an empty biscuit tin. It works for us! Took the biscuit outside containing the keys and the car wouldn’t open. Used this for 2 years now!
