  1. Must’ve been you that I saw on FB with it, as I assumed it was a for sale thread. Enjoy the VRS mate, lovely cars these.
  2. EXACTLY THIS! I was trying to watch the rev counter and he wasn’t even going fast or rev’d it past 4K. They’ve got a terrible flat spot between 4K-5K which plays havoc with mappers and they do generally feel slow even when ragging them. I guess at the time they felt fast as there wasn’t to much out around them times, unless you went for big money.
  3. This was for sale recently with a lady as the last owner. Take it you just picked this up?
  4. Video has a lot of errors and found it a little hard to watch with half the video not in focus. But, good to see that people still do love the VRS.
  5. As long as it’s from a MK1 yes, and not a very early MK2.
  6. The above works fine, as does an R32 wheel which some prefer. It has been known that you can fit a MK5 Golf wheel, but you'll have to put up with the paddle (if it has it). Example here: As it's the same platform, I can see no reason as to why this won't work.
  7. Try this, and also a gearbox oil change.
  8. Very easy is you look at it and look for the screws. I recently did it and took no more then 10 mins 2 screws at the bottom, and 4 screws I think behind the glass (torx) and the plastic covers lifts away.
  9. Welcome, if you're sticking to the standard Turbo you'll only see around 230BHP/240BHP at a push, unless it's a recon and a new actuator fitted. Over the years to upgrade are the K280 or the K300 turbos with this you're looking into using stronger rods etc. There're loads of info on here so just search for 'MK1 turbo upgrade' Here is the usual rundown on what to do with stage 2.
  10. Absolutely as I’m always looking around.
  11. Many of us were after that and it was sold within the hour. The only way you’ll get one now is if you do a conversion yourself or keep a look out for one on here and the fb groups.
  12. Could well be, best to get it checked out by the garage. Mines just gone but I am stage 2 so I was expecting it. Also, mine crunched in 2nd/3rd gears.
  13. Even more annoying you’re so far away! I have the same colour... Best of luck with the sale.
  14. Yes there is a lot of interest I believe. It’s a shame you’re so far away as I would take a few parts of you if it was to be broken. I think the most expensive parts on it are going to be the Xenons and the full leather interior plus the carpet. The interior is what I’ve seen a lot of people get for their vRS As they prefer the leather with black carpet. People are always looking for spare parts on these. I know a guy currently breaking two of these. Once the most the above has gone its quite hard to shift the rest I’ve found. So you’ll be left with a shell, doors, etc. I just recently picked up my L&K estate. If you intend on keeping it, do it up and save it.
  15. Purely because it’s white. But it’s sold already. Less than an hour.
  16. https://www.facebook.com/groups/VRSOctaviaSales/permalink/2760452957534718/?sale_post_id=2760452957534718&__xts__[0]=68.ARDPxQSrvV56Y7vn-pVlT3fIxVo6jck1vz3-_dohgif9y2m26HI5_KPjDTuLmKOEs4SUkyHLTo6bI9keglfBXV_m2a8hRBcc0kLmPooevLLjrhpJOZ9EktYWy6Ors1RdpztL9nm7dsh5KIIDoctN-GLcPiDMfvZy-4z4iW7O-KzjFNEkLExn-AgQq8vjx9NnBWKnzD9wrUA8IDaeoZMe3UGYg0J145D3Khk8Nj5eFce3lakgtPxpx74fB5EnS42OdQBKbfZwp6FwWgpaeBlW52GzPpMNr2C-cVkTX86YWZAqY2CDPUUZHKfKY_YxQJ3L7yEPUWVwPb7lPo4Qz271cCH7JNiT_YJ3vDb-O-BwffXs6cTe&__tn__=-R Needs an engine. Mk1 octavia vrs white £1,400 Aspley, Nottingham Got a white octavia vrs on 177k Needs a new engine smoking issue Just had a new turbo Decat straight through Lowering springs Sub Touchscreen Recaro leathers Bbs ch reps refurbed in white New crankcase breather and valve No history but ex police This is a project as will need an engine 1400 Ono (Not worth 1400, don’t care that it’s white)
  17. Please be aware that whacking the door lock doesn’t always work. And here’s why... Corrosion on the pins and both connectors blocks. It was so bad that two of the pins have snapped which doesn’t allow power to the lock (yet the window works).
  18. He’ll be disappointed. That ain’t going to get 4x4 treatment, The amount of work to the chassis that would need doing, it wouldn’t even be worth the time, nor effort or money. You’d just buy a cheap 4x4 octavia and go from there. He’d have to cut a tunnel into it for the prop shaft and goes know what other welding and strengthening it would need... 🤦‍♂️ Stage 2, yeah, fine. But with that sort of reply to things expect him to blow the engine, unless he knows what’s he’s doing.
  19. They really don’t sell for a high price atm. If you want top money, stay away from FB groups and just stick to AutoTrader and Gumtree. Right now I could pick up a couple for £800-£1000 with less than 120,000 miles. Definitely more than you’d get trade price. Some may see the car as poverty spec, some won’t care at all, but I know that I’d pay more for a decent spec’d VRS. The key is, sing and dance about it in the ad, make it a decent one and a good lengthy read and be just as honest as you have been here and it will sell, and sell for good money, it may take a couple weeks. All the best!!
  20. Hatchback or Estate? Any pictures? Also what spec does it have?
  21. Wasn’t a bad guess. 😂 Over time these warp due to heat cycles, get a replacement from TPS or Skoda and not a copy, along with a new oring. Oh, and you may as well replace the thermostat too while you are there.👍🏻
  22. I would fill it up, jack the car up and get underneath and start looking for leaks. Thermostat is known to leak if the casing has warped, also water pump is known too if it hasn’t been changed. But I would get underneath with a torch and look, also take the engine covers off and look around at the top too.
  23. Be from the aircon unit as the unit is cold but the weather is hot. Does it on all so I wouldn’t worry about it.
  24. I think that's a resistor for the N249 delete (if it hasn't been mapped out of the ecu), this would normally though up a check engine light, but it has the resistor, it will still think it's attached. All part of the PVC breather system, so I'd also assume that the secondary air pump has also been deleted. A good mod to have as it simplifies the engine and eliminates a lot of split hoses which can cause headaches.
