  1. Sometimes the new battery has a little warning sticker on one side and that stops it making contact and working that's what happened to me !
  2. On mine it was a dealer software update that cured it completely. It's a common problem i had it on mine for months till I took it in !
  3. Just call up Peter Bowman towing centre in Bury, cause that's who that Bolton dealer use to fit most of their tow bars! Brian is the man you want 0161 797 3000
  4. Some are showing signs of rust after being stored before being sold but what makes it worse and causes plastic nut cap's and valve dust cap's to loose colour is the cleaning agents that car wash staff use. Sometimes they don't dilute these as recomended in the hope that it will clean better and faster !
  5. My stop start will stop any chance it get's, if I forget to disable it, even with a cold engine that's travelled less than a mile it stops !
  6. Put half a litre in mine at 4,000 miles it was full when I collected it new. I always check it on the dipstick so it well never be left till it gets so low I get pinged !
  7. Nextbase 322 GW front and rear hard wired by dealer !
  8. Hi Glad to hear your on the road to getting back with a fully functioning car. Dealers explanation sounds quite plausable.
  9. Hi lussac Hope you get sorted soon, can't see it being anything serious. This is where you find out how helpful and efficient the service department is ! Got to say what little contact I've had with my local supplying dealer has been very positve, so I do hope your experience is just as good up your end.
  10. RRG Bolton supplied and PDI my new Karoq that I've leased with vwfs. Jane Cannan deals with all the lease vehicles for RRG and looked after everything. She kept me updated as things progressed. Nothing was to much trouble and her communication was outstanding. She helped me with my cherished reg transfer. The cars condition on collection was all that I could hoped or dreamed of. So well done to all the team at Bolton ! As expected Jane's handover was very comprehensive and relaxed, she really knows her cars but better still she is able and happy to pass this knowledge on to customers.

Yea great car and nice colour. Enjoy !
  12. From my enquiries fully coded tow bar supply and fitting cost between £600 and £700 from an independent, who local dealer's use. I have driven a 1.0 on road test and it was quite nippy but if your not experienced at towing a caravan, which is a lot different to a trailer then 1000KG is a weight you need to be looking round loaded. This then usually means you into older caravans and second hand caravans are a bit of a minefield if you don't know what your looking at especially at this time of year. Best of luck caravanning can be great fun.
  13. Hi Booboobear, Thanks but couldn't get that link to work but my last car didn't have them on so I can live without them. Not sure if any Karoq has them fitted as standard.
  14. I feel your pain I just took delivery on Tuesday of a SEL Karoq and expected it to have them as standard but no they don't ! Looking on the bright side it did have a spare wheel so that was a nice surprise.
  15. I tow a Lunar caravan with an Octavia you will be fine just go slow over ramps and the like. Best of luck enjoy. Steve
  16. Yea I did IAM test years ago too and then observer with my local group for a few years. Bit rusty now though !
  17. Know just how you feel kinda takes the shine off a new car when Its delivered with a poor PDI and a salesman who don't care ! Been there done that but just leave some feedback in dealer reviews and move on if you can. Look in that section for Dealers who get good reviews near you and use them in future for servicing ! Not sure about your spare wheel but I expect its just been thrown in and if you take it all out and refit it yourself with a bit of care all will be fine. Clean any dried mud off underneath with jet wash or hose and dust under-bonnet. Take all dealer Key fobs and stickers of car, why promote a rubbish experience and this is good therapy ! Last but not least enjoy the new car get out and drive. Skoda's are great cars !
  18. Your revs sound about right at seventy but I would have a good check of your brakes as you could have one sticking and they would smell the same as the clutch.
  19. Yea it's an old engine but well proven and they usually sound a lot quieter than them Ford cvh engines did. You don't say what kind of mpg your getting, could be a sensor making ecu think engine is cold and over fueling when hot. Fans don't come on much at the best of times if I have worked mine hard and then leave it ticking over for a few minutes, when I stop it, fan comes on for a few minutes even with the key out. Rear washer jets block up dead easy but just pop out easy to clean but it sounds like yours is at the pipe blown off stage !
  20. More Yeti's at Simpsons I think you'll find for two year lease.. Even tempted me just seen it on fb ! :sun:
  21. Married for 40 years this coming May and never a cross word, we don't talk !
  22. Hi Dougie Sounds hard working permanent nights. Yea know what you mean about toilet visits at our age. Having said that providing I've nothing on my mind to worry about it's back to sleep in no time for me. Well keeping cars is good but it means I've got to keep them all in mots, servicing and clean ! Its getting up to five in our family, two Micra's, one Fiat Grand Punto a Toyota Yaris and my Octavia trust me I've got loads of old engine oil ! Car dealers did twenty five years in garages from leaving School so I know quite a bit about what goes on and the tricks they play. Steve
  23. Hi Dougie Don't talk to me about DPF I had a Mazda6 Diesel before the Octavia. Real day to day fuel costs are not that different tsi or what ever. Salesmen just sell a dream. the largest cost on most cars is the depreciation in first three years it's thousands. How right are you with the caravan yes it is very light and if I replaced it then I would have to upgrade the car. Funny thing is new caravans are a lot bigger and some times twice as heavy as the one I have but the beds are smaller ?
  24. Hi Dougie Hats off to you m8 with the Maxi Dot didn't know I had it ! Will have to read my book again, having said that mine cleared first time with the button. Mines always been on fixed as dealer set it before delivery so it's had four oil and filter changes so far. Glad your happy with the old mpi engine not stressed very easy to work on and proven over the years, know which I would want if its a keeper. I tow my caravan with it too that's 21 years old, had it from new but looked after it just like the cars!
