  1. My family car is an RS, so yes a Sportline would be perfectly fine for a family. The bucket seats are supremely comfortable however you can’t get them with seat ventilation yet AFAIK. Kids in the back can’t see quite as much but a non issue for anyone say 170cm+ tall. People here will whine about the 20” rims being terrible and prone to kerbing and discomfort but I disagree. With the electric memory seats you get the mirror tilt function when parking so there’s literally no reason to kerb them. Ride on the 20” rims is firm but never offensive, suits me more than the 19” rims on my last Kodiaq.
  2. I've had the pano roofs on my past two Kodiaqs, and I wouldn't hesitate to get it again if I were to buy another.
  3. I'd take the Edition. Memory seats is a must for a car with varying driver heights imo- and before you guys say it, yes, I am lazy. Plus it's a 4x4 model, even the 1.4/1.5's are easy to spin the wheels in the wet. I like the panoramic roofs. Before my two Kodiaqs, I had a T31 Nissan X-Trail for 10 years with a panoramic sunroof that had no problems. It however was a different setup than the Kodiaq, where it was a single big pane of glass that actually went into the roof instead of sliding on top.
  4. If manufacturers used some common sense and put engine block heaters in their diesel (and petrol) hybrids, I’d be inclined to buy one. A warm engine is far more efficient than cold as we all know, and with how little an ICE is used in daily use (infrequently but not 100% electric only) it makes a lot of sense to me.
  5. Hah, and what happened to Mercedes-Benz four years after dieselgate...all the manufacturers are bending (and some breaking) the rules
  6. Replaced with the Octavia RS 245hp 370nm TSI lump.
  7. @chrisluciofg has them
  8. ATE ceramic pads.
  9. They're definitely just covering the inner tailgate lights. Apparently they're slimming them down to be more like the Chinese Kodiaq GT or Enyaq.
  10. From what I understand, Travel Assist has replaced ACC + TJA.
  11. Looks like we're getting the fancy dynamic indicators for facelift as expected. The rear window spoiler looks different too as well as a lower bumper that looks more akin to the new Octavia 4 RS.
  12. I think you gotta get a dealer to code it as the immobiliser coding system is connected to VW headquarters in Germany. But happy to be corrected
  13. All that needed to be done is get a locksmith to get shimmy some stick sorta thing to press the ignition then lock button...
  14. This makes no sense
  15. Mid-2021 is the facelift model
  16. Tyre width was the limiting factor there. The standard Kodiaq did better, the extra weight of the RS seems to overload the base 235 width tyres. After driving a standard RS now that I have my one with Ignites (8.5J + 255 width tyres) it feels much stable going hard in corners.

  18. Yeah, it’s contradicted by the work union though. Clearly we won’t be able to see the whole story but nothing wrong with speculation.
  19. I wouldn’t see them as not being important given how much gross profit they create for the group, and the production of components for other Group cars. But it is clear that Volkswagen doesn’t want ŠKODA to take their market placement. I reckon Volkswagen should remember that they are the people’s car and thus should reconsider how not just SEAT and ŠKODA are placed within the market, but themselves. Is an Arteon really fitting of a “people’s car” nameplate? At least the Superb was seen as a luxury car before WWII
  20. They are planning to achieve that with all the same fuel saving tech from VW i.e. mild/plug-in hybrid and emissions reducing devices like the double SCR injection for TDI engines. Why they are not rolling out more BEV cars I’ve no idea, but really the UK is just not seen as that important to ŠKODA for whatever reason.
  21. 2019 annual report for ŠKODA says that In Europe, they could sell significantly more vehicles if they had enough production capacity. The trust showed by the Volkswagen Group in the ŠKODA brand also led to the Company being charged with the management of the Russia region. In light of the full utilisation of its production capacities, the Company worked strenuously to increase the effectiveness of production and ensure additional capacities, for example at other Group production plants. The Company was also involved in preparing a project to develop a new multi-brand production plant. The final location has still to be confirmed and construction is awaiting approval. They also ended up producing more SEAT Atecas than Karoqs (+3631) and will be heading the development and production of the B9 Passat alongside Superb Mk4. As you know and mentioned, ŠKODA is producing a lot of drivetrain components for the whole Group - 387,101 MQ200 gearboxes, 182,200 MQ/SQ100 gearboxes and 555,858 DQ200 gearboxes plus 568,825 engines, 3,975 batteries for plug-in hybrids and 1.83 million axles
