Replacing badges, how are they attached?
Nikonite replied to NFISHER's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
They are not great at answering, even if they do its often on Chinglish. Expect something like "our bag cover is much fit for optimum Skoda" -

Let's hope it's the former

I have my GPS antenna (the one I tested it with) in the gap I the dashboard that I think some people have daylight sensors in. As it is showing my home as its last location we think it may just be the antenna hopefully. It worked great in my car which is already set up and coded for the Columbus, maxidot, Bluetooth, could it be a coding issue? I read some cars may have position sensing that can cause issues.

Price for a couple of jobs.
Nikonite replied to davezim's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
New car new problems, sometimes it's better the devil you know! -
No the maps were stored in the unit, not sure what version they were

I just sold an rns 315 that was working perfectly in my car. The buyer is having trouble picking up satellites though. I bought a new GPS antenna to go with it (eBay job) which I didn't test before shipping. Is there anything else it could be or likely just the antenna? As I said it was working no problems in my car I tested it on a short run there and back. I've found a few threads online saying a reset may be required after changing cars by removing the fuse. Right now it's still showing as being on my driveway in Crawley while it's actually in Scotland

Police stopped 2,000 motorists 'doing over 100mph' in 2014-15
Nikonite replied to vxh26's topic in General Automotive Chat
Maybe the police should try doing 70 in an unmarked car, some idiot hogging the middle Lane at 55-60 and a constant stream of tailgating German cars in the fast lane that is near impossible to safely join. Sometimes just staying at the speed limit and remaining safe takes some skill. -
airbag light after body repair.
Nikonite replied to stevfire2's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Disconnecting the battery shouldn't cause an airbag warning unless a crash sensor or airbag was not connected when the battery was put back on. Then it would need clearing with vcds or the likes. -
I don't think so mate, I think this is the same wheel as the golf. I did look for a skoda alternative but couldn't find any

I might upgrade my Bluetooth at some point, not just yet though. Getting married next month so get that over with. It's not cheap! -
Kufatec stuff...what is this?
Nikonite replied to Nikonite's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
All working, I routed it down the rear pillar, into boot behind side panels through seats and along the bottom trim under the doors. I thought it was a bit rubbish until I wiped the lens Decided to get rid of the MDI, whilst handy 3 quad locks is a pain. I have no skin on my knuckles with 2! -
Airbag and harness included, fits straight on to Octavia II, had it on mine for 6 months. Looks brilliant feels even better, much chunkier than the skoda but the badge is seat obviously. No issues with function or fitment on the skoda. £60 collected from Crawley, the airbags alone go for more on eBay. I don't know anyone who will post so if you want postage and know a courier happy for you to organize your own. Can fit for you if you are uncomfortable with it.

Fully working with rns 315 and 510. sw:0240 hw:h13 kw 22/11 Was going to fit it with my new kufatec reverse camera module but already have a Bluetooth harness too so room is too limited for 3 quadlocks . £75 delivered comes with iPhone and USB cables.

Nikonite replied to Nikonite's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
It's half installed, what a day car is in pieces and battery just died lol. What a ball ache wiring the camera, just trying to find a decent ignition live now. Will probably use the one from my dashcam and fit a relay later. Also fitting an mdi at the same time so with my Bluetooth quad lock that's 3! Fun times fitting all that in! -

Just changed both lamps for standard ones and now it works! I'm guessing they need to be matched or something? How odd -

02394 - Parking Light Left Front (M1) 012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit Anyone had this fault? Have been using canbus "friendly" leds and noticed I had a flicker on the left side, intermittent bulb warning on the dash. Changed them today and now a permanent fault with no light left side and constant bulb warning . have checked continuity on the headlamp unit multiplug to bulb holder and it's fine. I'm guessing either stretched / broken wire from removing light or popped bcm. Have tried standard bulbs, same result. Fault cleared and returning

Remote central locking
Nikonite replied to construct_06's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
If your car is the the bog standard car it probably never had remote locking. Your CCM probably doesn't support it and will need upgrading. You can then buy two used remote fobs 2 has key blanks with cases (timpson will cut them) and swap over the immobiliser transponders from your current keys and electronics from the fobs. Some vcds coding will be needed and an aerial of some sort making to increase range. Will work as factory then, it's not a difficult job, all the info you need us on this forum but it's a bit of reading for you. -
Steering Wheel From Superb 2 Fl
Nikonite replied to marekczek's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
There is a 4 spoke pre FL mfsw, not the prettiest but works -
I want to fit some 5mm spacers to my new wheels. They are 17" with 235 45 17 tyres et56. There is no rubbing but they are pretty close to the strut. Would I need longer wheel nuts?

As soon as they figure out displaying Nav on the maxidot I'd have one, I love android devices. -

Nikonite replied to lanciadub's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
If your doors are reversed try changing your location or language somewhere within the menus. I had a none android one that was the same, thought the car was left hand drive.
