  1. I totally agree they're a waste of time. However I believe they're also a legal requirement if you have xenon lights. I'm sure I've seen some obscure legislation in relation to that.
  2. True that. A mate of mine leased an R. He was paying £250 a month where I was/am paying £223 for my Octavia Vrs. Some really good unbelievable deals a couple of years back. Back on topic, I really wanted the 280 but I just couldn't justify the cost. However I'll be going from a standard 184bhp diesel MK3 Octavia Vrs to a petrol 220 superb sportline in may when my current lease ends. I can't wait
  3. I placed my order before Xmas for a sportline hatch 2.0 TSI 220 dsg. It's replacing an Octavia vrs TDI dsg. My och doesn't end till may though so quite a wait yet. No mention from my dealer of alcantara supply issues or the fact they're supplying leather in replacement. Hope not, I like alcantara.
  4. Ohhhh yes I forgot that!! Heated front seats too....not bothered about whoever is shivering in the back!! I'll never be sat there!!
  5. I've just been intoy local dealership this morning and ordered my next car. I'm on lease the same as you till may in an Octavia vrs diesel. I had a chat and a play about with figures etc and have placed an order for a superb sportline hatchback with 2.0 TSI 220 DSG. Quartz Grey. Added heated front seats and heated windscreen, just because I'm lazy and really don't like scraping my windscreen when it freezes. Paying £40 a month more on top of what I've been paying monthly for the Octavia, much nicer place to be than the Octavia and standard spec is much higher. Looking forward to may.
  6. Mine does it too. Always has. Took me ages to figure out what it was.
  7. https://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/systems_available.php?id=4932 I've got the 2 channel crdt. The newer one is the 3 channel crd-3. I don't know anything about the new 3 channel model. It works in all modes eco, normal and sport. It has 3 programmes on the box and each one can be adjusted down by 3 points or up by 3 points. So you can have programme 1 with -1, -2, -3, +1, +2 and +3 if that makes sense. Have a look on their website. They're an awesome company to deal with. And before anyone asks no I'm not affiliated to them in any way.
  8. I've got the dtuk box on my TDI vrs. Definitely makes a difference. Well worth the money.
  9. I read on this forum in another post that the best overall mpg is obtained in sport mode. I remember doing a run to work in eco mode then the same run home in sport and i got more mpg on the way home.
  10. My 15 plate Vrs DSG does exactly the same in eco mode. I thought it was clutch slip too. Certainly thats what it feels like. But then why would it not slip in any other mode if that's what it is? My solution is to never ever put it into eco mode! Sorry i know that doesn't necessarily help you with an answer.
  11. I've got the blackvue 650 2 channel setup. As already stated the back camera is powered via a coax from the front. It's an awesome system, expensive but well worth the money.
  12. Stinks to me of them holding on to your order. They will have met their sales targets for the month of may so will have kept your order on hold and not submitted it until June so it goes towards June's target. Hence you not getting a build date when someone who orders AFTER you does. Annoying little games that dealers play
  13. That's what my tdi vrs came with. I shredded them in 10000 miles...oops
  14. Ouch!! Some of these figures make my eyes bleed. Are you guys on a pcp with £10k final payments actually going to pay it and keep the car? My pch deal was £2100 down (£1500 from me £600 dealer contribution) 8000 miles a year Vrs tdi DSG £223 a month for 35 months.
  15. One of these.....you got one these didn't you!! No more rush hour traffic for you son....
  16. The UK vrs does have them, they're just not very bright and if you didn't purposefully look for them you wouldn't know they were there. To the OP sorry I can't help answer your question.
  17. I don't know if it's just me but I've never had an awful lot of use for these thermal travel mugs. I've never made a cup of coffee and had it last 6 hours......20 minutes is too long. I'd be on my 2nd in 30 minutes!!
  18. I'd like to see you have that same opinion if you had a drive in the s60 t6 awd.Let's see if you're tired of life after experiencing that 'volvo' With a 2004 s60 you can't be skint because these things cost a fortune to maintain. Mine hardly ever put a foot wrong in the 9 years I had it but when ever it went into the garage it was always a minimum £500 bill. Let's face facts. You're simply jumping on the band wagon of saying volvo is an old man's car. You've clearly never owned or driven one because if you had then you wouldn't have that opinion. I was 29 when I got mine and got all the same ridicule. The idiots soon shut their mouths when they couldn't keep up in their apparent 'hot hatch' Don't judge a man by the car he drives.
  19. In many many ways the volvo is a far superior car to the vrs. I miss mine. Just because he's gone from a vrs to a volvo means nothing more than he clearly has good taste in cars, going from one very nice quick car to another. The volvo D5 engine is a bit of a beast.
  20. I came from an 04 s60 to the vrs. I miss my volvo for its comfort and refinement. Those seats are like nothing on earth. Comfiest thing I've ever sat in and that's a fact. Enjoy it. What model is it? I had the D5. That 5 cylinder engine used to growl when you floored it.
  21. Just done this as I had been away and the car was at home. In the 12 months I've had the car I've never found that second settings menu. I normally go into the settings menu through the car button. I always assumed that settings menu through the menu button would be the same, I'd never tried it. Lesson learnt!
