  1. Sounds like a fair ground dodgem! What's not to like?
  2. No idea how they accessed it, but yes we changed PayPal password too - we never knew they did credit! Some random signed us up for 4 Dysons and an iPhone (the phone was delivered by FedEx but we rejected it!). We were saved because we noticed odd behaviour and killed the card with Lloyds straight away too. Hope you're safe here too.
  3. We experienced something very similar last month just before someone signed us up for £5000 of credit with PayPal and bought a ton of stuff outside of eBay. It's all sorted now, and without loss, but we immediately called our bank to withhold any further payments to PayPal and also changed our password. Although it took just under a month it saved us a whole heap of hassle and damage to credit ratings. I recommend you take similar precautions and change your password as a matter of urgency. Hope this helps....
  4. Big boss - welcome to the forum! Sounds like you've ordered the perfect Kodiaq for your needs. Please let us know how it goes when it arrives (if that's not an oxymoron?).
  5. Strong work - we'll need photos.... ;-)
  6. If you're carrying only for short journeys or want something cheaper in the short term then you might try a 'Delta bike hitch'. We've got four of these which we bought from Halfords for £18.99 (but they're on eBay at £24.99). They fit into the U channel on most bars and they're very sturdy. We primarily use them to bolt our bikes to our boat trailer for our 2500 mile round trip to the South of France and they work a treat, but we also use them on the roof of our Yeti to carry all four bikes simultaneously!
  7. (I'll raise you....) 'Kaguyak' (which overlooks Kodiaq island!)
  8. A quick scan of Autoglass, National Windscreens and Google suggests anything from £180 to much, much more! I hope this doesn't sting you too much.
  9. Provided the tent's below 75kg when mobile then I can't really see a problem with it. The dynamic load calculus that Skoda will have done to achieve 75kg in motion will almost certainly see them test it at double that weight. It's not as if you're parking a 700kg helicopter on a Yeti for example....and if you do bend the bars (which is way more likely than damage to the roof fittings or pillars IMHO) then you can always sort another set from the scrappy!
  10. If you still have the car and it's insured then most insurers will charge about £75 for a replacement screen (and without affecting your no claims discount). If you haven't still got the car or insurance then I hope you don't end up paying the full price!
  11. We'd all love to know that your wonderful Yeti still features in your plans for Snetterton?
  12. Phil, Well done on following this through. Holding this eejut to account for his actions is so important and I'm sure that everyone here seriously respects you for having the resolve to take this on. I certainly do! Best wishes, Matt
  13. Ditto on noise with the Thule 9583 and used mostly with roof box or bikes so can't comment on fuel consumption, but they're a little fiddly (a solid 10 minutes to secure) so we tend to fit and forget....
  14. Thule Wing bar Edge 9583 are fab on our Yeti. Silent, ultra low profile and they fit our Mitsubishi Shogun too! Here's a photo of them supporting our Exodus 470 roof box, but we can also now put 4 bikes on the roof instead. Great value at £75 delivered via EBay!
  15. Cross Climates still fitted but alas it's a beautiful sunny spring day here in Cornwall! Perhaps we should swap?
  16. Try the Tamar Towing Centre (TTC) in Plymouth. They've fitted Westfalia towbars to our Yeti, Superb and old Octavia and their price for a fitted bar was well below £500 - plus they're used by Murray Skoda to fit all their 'official' dealer supplied bars so they'll be able to talk wiring and coding with confidence too!
  17. A photo of our Exodus 470 roof box on our Yeti. It's a full width box but fits the car well if you replace the long aerial with a stubby!
  18. Hang on.....how fast are you speeding to the horizon?
  19. Great choice - they're fab on our Yeti in mud and snow, but truly confidence inspiring in sleet, rain and falling snow when the temperature's just above freezing! They're also fun and progressive in the dry too. Can't fault them...
  20. BREXIT and variable exchange rate impact per chance? Just a thought...
  21. I don't think they're thinking at all! Skoda have made some very odd towing choices for the Kodiaq especially given that the higher powered/ higher spec cars all come with 7 seats and a towing limit lower than my current Yeti! Simply weird....
  22. +1 on reporting to the police. Nice clear imagery - let them decide...
  23. Absolutely! We weighed the car and boat together (train weight) and then boat hitched to the car with just it's wheels on the weigh bridge (trailer weight without nose weight), then reversed so that the car's rear axle and boat trailer was weighed (rear axle weight) and finally disconnected and weighed the boat on its own (to derive front axle weight)! Complicated, but at £12 for two pairs of weights worth it for peace of mind just in case we were stopped because it looks big. We had about 40kg of rear axle weight remaining at max nose weight!
