  1. Original motors have built in electronic units with 5 wires going in, so they are not compatible electrically. Others are just two wires, connecting motor directly to 12V - So as long as it can fit to mechanism, you can use it. It can work, I, for example, was able to fit motor for Renault to Favorit rear lifter, as they had similar mechanism. Unfortunately, I found out later, that Favorit lifter doesn't fit to Felicia... As for speakers, yes, you could mount them there, after cutting a hole - but it's not exactly prepared mounting point as it is in Felicia. Also, Favorit originally had flat door panels like Estelle - these in pictures are from VW facelift (1993 I think?) I don't mind to get volume up - as long as it's not distorted (not really possible with little paper speakers mounted in flexy plastic in Felicia) and only with all windows shut.
  2. I think it was meant for easy installation in Favorit, which didn't have speaker pockets in doors. I doubt that this installation would be capable of any "loud music"
  3. Yes, I had that console with cupholders (and audi style switches) and later bought that box,but I wanted same console as yours - but I couldnt get the lighter one, as they were produced only in first half of 1998, then they were replaced with cupholder one, so pretty hard to find. Darker ones are pre-facelift, and in black they were used in Favorit
  4. @D.FYLAKTOS Do you also have same console as in picture? Same colour as rest of the interior or slightly darker?
  5. So it has no automatic functions? It seems that someone chose to rewire whole thing when original mechanism failed. Do you have some pictures how your switches look? This is original installation - I have been in 3 different Felicia's (2 Sportline, including mine, one Mystery) that had them from factory as base equipment + some others - installed in center console, they look like this: In pre-facelift, they weren't installed in factory, but they could be bought as original accessory (even rear ones) - switches then looked like this, similar to yours. These are pretty rare around here, I've never seen in person and lifters themselves (using push-pull wire in metal tube, similar to Favorit mechanism) are more valuable than more modern factory units.
  6. I thought that you have Sportline edition with factory electronic windows? Mine look like this and I disassembled both these and Audi switches to check internal connections
  7. Factory fitted uses 5 pin switches, 2 for lighting (green) 1 output (+-), 2 for input voltage - they are just signal switches for the control unit You can find same form factor from Audi 80/100, which also has 5 pins, but reversing polarity output which runs motors directly - these have ofcourse red backlight - they are copied by various manufacturers Rear electric windows were never fitted from factory, but I've seen some, often export to South Europe - these had different switches for pre-facelift console. I've also seen DIY conversion using front motors (their electronic units have input for secondary switch) and rear lifter mechanisms - I made my attempt, too, but I never finished them...
  8. since original parts are not available anymore, it's either that, some DIY repair, conversion to manual lifters or complete rewiring - original wiring is not compatible with aftermarket lifters.. I'm no fan of SP-EL either, but that repair kit is easiest way to get working lifters (assuming they are done properly without QC issues)
  9. Just FYI, these are not original mechanisms - Felicia has push/pull system in plastic Bowden tube, with motors with integrated convenience unit from VW T4 - this mechanism has its own issues, as plastic becomes harder over time, the tube often cracks near motor and window jams. There are repair kits for that too, sold by SP-EL
  10. Yes, I found this info too, it should be the same pump that runs MPI system at 2,5-3bar. But you need constant pressure between fuel system and intake to maintain proportionality between injection time and amount of fuel. You don't need different pistons, the head can be skimmed - you need about 0,8mm to get to 9,5 on the 135B engine, if I remember correctly. Although Felicia head is better choice, I'm not sure if it's good for SPI injection - it lacks water channels for intake heating.
  11. Not only Škoda designers, 50's and 60's were golden era of Czech industrial design - Škoda 1000MB, Tatra 603, Škoda 47E, Karosa Š series, Tatra 805 expedition spec were nice machines from various branches of industry. But in 70's and especially 80's, design became unnecessary luxury, so everything was replaced by bland boxes..
  12. Yes, it's basically pre-war engine and chassis with different body. But that body is so beautiful
  13. Unfortunately, MPI and SPI have different flywheels - MPI has extra teeth to mark 1st cylinder TDC. SPI doesn't need that... In theory, SPI signal could be similar to MPI, you'd just need something to route it to the right coil
  14. I think it depends on manufacturer. For example, INA accessory belt tensioner for TDI is identical part with Gates bearing, only difference is VW part numbers grinded away. But if Sachs is not able to keep quality of 80's Slovak factory (Sachs Slovakia, which supplied clutch sets for Felicia, was formerly TAZ - clutch supplier for Favorit), it really went downhill.
  15. It only sets order of firing, all timing is set by the ECU, using position sensor on crankshaft, which is more precise. Distributor had timing function on older carburettor engines, but because of missing timing chain tensioner, it was all over the place once the chain became loose Either that or some custom solution which would generate the right signal from SPI ECU signal and some additional sensor. MPI is definitely better, its knock sensor allows for more precise ignition and higher CR - 40kW variant rated for 91octane fuel has similar CR as 50kW SPI rated for 95 octane fuel. However, factory variant also have different cam profile to improve low end torque, which is why maximum power remained the same as SPI, but dynamics, emissions and fuel consumption improved. Lot of things could be wrong - there could be a vacuum leak, blocked injector or bad map. Have you checked valve clearance?
  16. Distributor in SPI doesn't do anything with timing - that's already done by the ECU. The distributor is really just a distributor. MPI module contains two coils - one fires with 1st and 4th cylinder near TDC, other with 2nd and 3rd. Which means that it needs two different signals per engine rotation - SPI ECU doesn't send such signals and its crankshaft sensor only detects 1st cylinder TDC. 1.2 bar is right pressure for the system. Choking outlet is not right thing to do - pressure regulator doesn't set absolute pressure, it sets relative pressure against intake air pressure, which is vital for proper fuel regulation. If you want increase amount of fuel, you need to remap the ECU. "I know a better option would be fitting the entire MPI and head, but for what I read here, starting from a low compression 54cv engine would not give significant benefits" You can increase CR by skimming the head. But that's main hurdle in converting to MPI - MPI has knock sensor mounted in the block, but SPI doesn't have mounting point for the sensor.
  17. Sachs is original supplier of the clutch set.
  18. The fan won't run if thermostat is closed - the switch is at output side of the radiator, which is at ambient temperature when the thermostat is closed. But with 70° switch, it might run even at higher speeds in high-load situations. I wouldn't go beyond 5° difference.
  19. More resistance, they had same rates as Pickup.
  20. @R_Blue in Felicia, wiper switch can be pushed forward in two positions, first is rear wiper, second is wiper+washer. I'm not sure if it's same in the Favorit, as wiring is a bit different there.
  21. I'd check diode bridge, it's pretty common that one or more diodes blow and alternator cannot reach full power.
  22. No, I removed it from one Felicia Mystery, where it malfunctioned. It was supposed to run rear wiper in 5 second interval, activated by pushing wiper lever to rear washer for a short period. In said Felicia, it activated everytime rear screen was washed and couldn't be turned off. It was optional extra included in some editions
  23. They did, the "INT" position in fusebox is for rear intermittent relay.
  24. That's because Felicia already has programmable timer. But it measures time of lever being in off position, not time since last wipe, so it can be a bit tricky to reset.
  25. That engine was meant for whole Favorit (or its successor) line, there is even marketing material for Favorit LS 1600. On the opposite end, there was 115S with 1.1l engine.
