Three Things...
Love the performance and the way it acts when you floor the pedal. The car seems to recoil and then shoot forward. Number 2 , the amount of people who have stopped and said wow "is that really a SKODA"!!

Wax on Wax off
Would love to mate , i enjoy detailing but Hampshire is just a bit too far under Nicola's rules. Hampshire does sound nice , i did, years ago travel to Poole. Nice bit of the country and did some driving about to various other wee towns.

Wax on Wax off
Having had my car for 7 weeks and not being able to drive too far and being absolutely bored to death working from home. I have washed the car once a week and applied a full coat of wax. 7 coats of Autoglym aqua wax and a combination of Simoniz plus one coat of Autoglym ceramic coating. The beading is a joy to behold. She gleams for sure but is this excessive and does it over protect or damage? Some will say " ye cannay wax a new car as the paint needs time to cure" This is BS in new paint techniques but happy to hear what you guys think.

Data connectivity advice?
TBH ive stopped griping about the system as it does the weirdest things such as wanting to change my vehicle settings every start. Wants to change backgrounds etc. Software is programmed to do something and do something. I hear the gripes are across the whole VAG group. Internet radio , havent seen it ever work. If anyone knows how to get it to work , please do. If the internet radio costs money ,, well **** THAT!!!

ACC misbehaving
I just seem to remember if you went ahead with that work they needed to take the radar off and it can be put out of alignment very easily by say a football hitting the radar plate on the grill. I remember someone on the Superb forum saying £800 and not covered on warranty. Seems daft to me and that thread was nearly 3 years ago , so i may have it wrong.

ACC misbehaving
Hi all , my Superb used to do that and if i remember correct , if you tell the dealer they need to look at a radar re-alignment and its not as i remember covered in warranty. Maybe changed now. My Superb would do that behaviour all the time. I got used to it and kept my foot hovering over the pedal incase of breaking and to bypass the ACC I would have though by now this was ironed out

Anyone actually happy with their MK4? 😂
Ive got to say i love my VRS , its sooo fast and responsive. I dont care about the software niggles. Its so smooth when i drive eco ( when the mrs is in the car) Fuel economy is ****e though ,, best ive had after 1400 miles is 33.6. Ive waxed it to death and it gets looks from loads of peeps. One looker said "WHALLL is that a SKODA". I like the fact from my POV that the car is rare right now and its nor an Audi or a Beemurr as the roads are full of these .

Newbie looking for comparisons.
Tell you what ive noticed , i get more looks and wows in this than i would have in an S3 OR 4 or a top end beemur. Its a great feeling when you put the boot down in sport. It feels as if the car recoils like a spring then goes for it. Only downside coming from a 190 dsg Superb is the fuel economy. Best ive seen so far is 32mpg, hopefully that will improve as ive only done 1200 miles. So , better looking than the GTI , rarer than all the Audis and Beemurs plus all of those A class mercs. Had mine for 7 weeks havent seen another and i like it like that.

What Tyres on VRS?
Mine came with 19" Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport. I was worried i would get the potenzas. Had them a few times and they are ****E!. The F1's feel as good as Pilot Sport 4s.

HAD ENOUGH
Stick with it mate , we are all getting some annoying things with the software and im sure they will be sorted. Im my exp i get better treatment from this brand from the dealer than in any other. I had a 320d Beemur and what a terrible relationship i had with Harry Fairbairn up here in Glasgow. As an NHS worker i was redeployed recently to deliver and install ventilators. I had a prob in wave 1 with my KESSY and my dealer sent a car to me and took my Superb on a flat bed to get fixed. They asked what size of car i needed and i told them something big due to the tubes and accessories for the vents. They gave me a top end Kodiak. I cant fault my dealer up here Henrys. Ive driven many brands but this one has looked after me when i needed them. Im now 3 Schkoda cars in since 2015. VW or Audi might not be as accommodating and im sure most of the dealer network up here being Arnold Clark would have cared less to my plight

System Glitches really annoying
Today , on the motorway coming back from Asda i wanted to change the temp. So pressed the CLIMA button and a message came up stating that the engine needed to be on to complete that function. So pressed the touchscreen and it now said the ignition needed to be on. Im no mechanic but i think the engine was running as i was doing 60mph. Any ideas?

Is it worth upgrading from a 2018 VRS petrol DSG estate, to the new one ?
Hi Bill , go for it. Its a different car and rides much better on the 19's compared to the 18's. Its more premium inside compared to the last version. The last version i always thought was a bit low rent compared to my Superb.

Software Update
How do you manually update the software or check if there are updates. I've checked through the menus but cant see an update function. The old way was to input your VIN into the website and download to a SD card. My current software on the Columbus set is 1788 ,, is that the current one?

1st place for the new Octavia mk4
Popular car over there and in the continent. Over here in Scotland the roads are full of audi's So the VRS is quite niche and i only ever see a few of the last gen. I like it like that and dont usually follow the lack of imagination. No Audi's on your list i see

Annoying things about the Mk4!
Hi all how do you manually download, i got my car last week and havent seen anything automatically saying system update. Ive looked trough all the setting but can only see current software version

De-badged rear - VRS estate
Agree mate , compared to my prev Superb sportline , seems a bit cheaper. Also my daughter commented on the doors being really light compared to the Superb. As with any new car choice , you compromise and never get all the spec you want for the price your prepared to pay. Have noticed the system is a bit slow to start and always starts with fake engine noise. I have to wait till booted to turn that off. The sound does my nut in , ok for showing off but not popping to the local shops.

Heated steering
To spec that part as an option on the Superb is £155 i think.
-
Heated steering
Dealer has via Skoda UK offered a goodwill payment of £100. Thoughts?
-
Heated steering
Hi all , how much would that option be on say a Superb or Kamiq? Maybe a couple of hundred?
