  1. Looking very smart indeed, I love the colour.... I'm just waiting on the weather picking up a wee bit so I can get started on doing my Superb. I've been getting her valeted about once every 6-8 weeks since I bought her at the end of March last year, even if it's only an exterior safe wash as I've vacuumed inside, but it's had 3 coats of Fusso Soft 99 applied which has helped stopped the worst of the muck sticking to her,.. I bought a new pressure washer last October along with some proper detailing buckets and grit guards but the cold weather plays havoc with my Arthritis to actually wash it
  2. It's an SE+ 1.6 TDI Diesel and definitely has halogens
  3. Hi Folks, Currently have a 2013 PFL Hatchback and looking for confirmation on the halogen headlight bulbs fitted to the car...I've looked in the owners manual and it doesn't seem to mention them anywhere Dip beam being a single filament Wil be the H7 bulb the issue is the high beam bulb as some sites list it as H1 whilst others list it as H3....looking through the lens it does look like the H1 but in photos they both look very similar in shape... Can you please confirm what I need to look for .... And what everyone is using as my light output is pathetic at the moment, especially the dip beam.
  4. I don't honestly think that manufactures anylonger list services by year in their service records as the service book for my 2013 Suberb has the same things listed on every page with the garage simply ticking the boxes that have and haven't been looked at or changed.... There's certainly nothing I think of special about a 9 year service ... Timing Belt and Water Pump with Tensioners should be changed around 5 years or 70/80,000 miles, DSG Boxes depending on type require a service every 4 years or 40,000 miles others are a longer period and higher mileage, Haldex System is normally every 3 years or 30,000 miles and brake fluid every 2 years.... Air and cabin/pollen filter I tend to change every service but most people change every other service... Diesel Fuel filter is something like every 50/60,000 miles (at least on my Octavia).... It's a long time since I've a a petrol engine so I can't comment on those
  5. I purchased this for mines in my 2013 Superb you could contact them about yours https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/skoda-vw-seat-amundsen--ver2020-2021-sd-card-sat-nav-map-update-v12-592-p.asp
  6. Purchased this stunning Superb 1.6TDI on March 30 so it was treated to a decent valet today by a local company and topped off with a coat of Fusso Wax and she's looking amazing again
  7. Thank you but searches have only shown up info on the new style black and silver badges and I wish to stick with the original style ... All I need is the sizes
  8. My new to me, March 30th 2013, 1.6 TDI SE+ with 58,900 miles on the clock
  9. Hi Folks, Having owned a 2007 Octavia L&K 2 litre TDI Hatchback since July 2015 I've recently moved up to a 2013 Superb SE+ 1.6 TDI and I have to admit I'm blown away by the size and comfort of the car. The car is in beautiful condition having covered under 59,000 miles with freshly refurbished alloys but the wheel centre caps are looking just ever slightly so tired when you get up close as is the front grill badge and I'm looking for the size of the wheel caps, wheels are 17" Triffids, and the size of the grill badge to order Regards Peter
  10. I've done the same thing on my my MK2 Octavia Hatchback... Both front windows scraped clear of frost leaving the work at the back of 8pm when it was -5 but by the time I'd got to roundabout 10 minutes up the road I couldn't see a thing out either ... Passenger side went down no issues and drivers side went bang like a bloody gun going off
  11. I bought a YUASA 096 from Halfords, not sure of the specs but I bought it in Nov 2019 with my trade card and had another 15% off buying on line and it was around £83 supplied and fitted and it's a 5 year warranty... Cars a 2007 2litre diesel
  12. Hi Folk, I'd some rust in my rear wheel arches treated about 18 months ago and it's starting to come back through again ... I'm considering repairing them with a welded in repair section but can only find them for the MK1 body shell, is it possible to get them for the MK2 hatchback at all.
  13. If it's only the front wing as long as they're both from a preface lift car then the wings of both the hatchback and estate are I believe interchangeable across the cars
  14. Your best bet is one of the aftermarket units made by the likes of Xtron that keep all your existing displays working on the screen .... Most are made for the 2009 onwards facelift models but they do some compatible with the older cars
  15. I've a 2007 Laurin and Klement with 17" wheels while earlier models had 16" as long as you fit the correct tyre which is 225/45/17 on the 17" wheels you will be fine .... Having said that you might find the ride a bit harsh as it took me ages to get used to mines, I did come from a long line of Citroen's with hydraulic suspension though
  16. Most people go for one of the Xtron units running an Android system and that are compatible with all the equipment on the car such as steering wheel controls, reversing sensors, door open warning etc... You can buy a reversing camera, TV tuner etc
  17. I know this is well past but the view out isn't restricted that much by the tint unless you go for Limo Black and even that you can see out of I'd reckon the difference between the most common tints is neglible
  18. I've never understood why it would affect how long the snow foam dwells going onto a wet car or a dry car as the snow foam is wetting the car anyway .... I've done both with no difference albeit with Bilt Hamber Snow Foam which doesn'r produce your usual great big shaving foam look
  19. I'd have to say that some of the labour charges seem over the top if all done on the same side with the caliper and disk already off the car ....
  20. Hi Dave.... You can obviously look for a more upmarket Skoda unit that has all the features you're looking for but it can be expensive and you might still have to buy a Blutooth adaptor unit to go with it ... After market units from the like of Halfords or dedicated ICE specialists could also run into £5-£600 and upwards supplied and fitted with a cheaper option being the Android head units from the likes of Xtron on eBay,or look them up on Facebook, which can come in from around £200-£350 and for a 2010 model are definitely plug & play ... The only issue might be getting something that will play CD's as most if not all don't have this function as most music is either streamed from your phone or played via an SD card or USB stick. The Android units have the big advantage of retaining all your exsting steering wheel controls if you have them along with your reversing sensors and door, boot & bonnet opening warnings and will take a reversing camera too... You can also opt for extras such as wi-fi dongles, DAB Radio, TV Adaptor and Tyre Pressure Monitoring system
  21. What you've got to weigh up is the cost of a timing belt & pump etc change costing £250-£350 at a decent garage against the inconvenience of a snapped belt and wrecked engine ...
  22. There's no denying it is a controversial issue and for many, many years I always put new tyres on the rear for safety ... A blow out on the rear, or even a loss of traction, is a lot more serious than on the front.... This however was alway on a rear wheel drive car... Now that the cars I've been driving for years have all been front wheel drive I don't feel the arguement is quite as clear cut, yes the safety part is still there, as all the driving power is now going through the front wheels and they surely require as much grip as possible as well as the fact that 70% of your braking goes onto the front wheels so the new tyres will also stop you quicker too....m
  23. I have a June 2007 registered L&K with no sunroof, Sat Nav or front parking sensors and the only 2 I'd have liked are the last 2 as the sunroof doesn't bother me ... Not even sure I miss the Sat Nav when I see the cost of map upgrades but I do like the colour display.
  24. I learnt that the hard way the first time I changed the one in my Octavia just after I'd bought it and it looked as if it been fitted in the factory... I get my local garage to do the oil and filter change and fit a new air and pollen filter every time as they're only a few pounds ... I was doing 15-16,000 miles a year so getting done about every 7 months .... Only going to be doing around 6,000 now so it'll be once a year
  25. So glad to hear that you've solved the problem .... It's been a hell of a long time since I've done any mechanical work/repairs on my cars, I can still do the air filter and just about get bent enough to change the pollen filter on my current Octavia
