  1. Sorry only just spotted your message... ... ...

No it didn't fix it, still an ongoing issue for me.

  2. MPi = 8valve !! Lumpy tickover on MPi is normal.
  3. Do a search one of the most talked about faults. 1. Pump 2. Sensor 3. Alternator Earth Lead 4. Wiring loom water logged.
  4. Sounds like damp getting into your wiring loom to me mate.
  5. This sometimes happens with mine too, and all the above points are checked and ok.
  6. Must be the time of year... A lot of these occuring lately, mine included.
  7. A couple of recent pics during a week away touring North Wales.
  8. Read a post on here recently where someone modified their air box and eliminated the black smoke syndrome.
  9. Haynes!! I got one, very poor pictures, the thinnest of paper and more areas missed than areas covered. Think I've found it useful once only.
  10. Shame they failed to mention that at the point of purchase. Lucky for me I had some money on me. Also I've heared mention of plastic ones (on early cars), mines pretty early and the new part was identical to the failed part. Made sure to wrap some electrical tape over the poorly sheathed wires before fitting it though.
  11. £40?? I wish mate... Recently replaced one... Was charged around £65 from the main dealer and when I went to collect the part they told me there was an additional £30 which was refundable if I returned with my faulty part.
  12. So one of the best chassis currently available then ??
  13. Nice one you'll have to put a few pics up for us to see.
  14. When I replaced my Steering Angle Sensor I used electrical tape to seal the wires that were not covered by the sheathing. The general quality of a factory replacement part felt very poor to me and it's no wonder they suffer failures with them.
  15. Can you not pull on the glass until its in the closed position and duck tape it in place. Note... I believe the regulator is attached to that metal panel and will need to be in the closed position for you to remove the panel fully. Also a regulator will cost you £71.98 from your dealer (that's what they quoted me for my failed passenger side one anyway.)
  16. It's a common problem with no simple answer. The sensor is the most common fault, but as you've changed yours it's doubtful that is to blame. The pump is also a common failure (very expensive). Apparently the earch on the alternator can corrode and cause issues with the steering. Also it's reported that a new battery can cure steering problems. I have been living with this fault myself for almost 2 years and what I do is switch on the egnition (dashboard lights only), wait a few moments for everything to settle down (making sure air con is off). I then start the engine and most of the time it's fine. However, on the occasion's that the PSU light comes on I engage reverse, hold the footbreak down and ride the clutch until the engine almost stalls. Depending on how cold the engine is you may end up stalling and having to repeat a few times, but most of the time I get right it on the first try. This seems to reset the electronics and the PSU light goes off and the steering is then A-ok for the duration of the journey. I hope this info helps...
  17. My seat used to squeak like buggery, until it broke. Needed welding to be repaired but still squeaks a bit. The structure in the base seems to move more than in other cars.
