Mk3 Fabia Greenline / Monte Carlo / vRS - UPDATE
Skyl1n3 replied to skodaTDI's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Still no news? Jeez all Skoda needs to do is look outside and see what people are driving, in the last couple of months I've seen nothing but Fiesta ST's and Golf R's EVERYWHERE, hell even a load of Polo GTI's, and they think people won't want to buy a race-y version of the Mk3? Come on Skoda... -
Bolero not displaying Asian characters
Skyl1n3 replied to jon15's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
I would say the best people to ask would be at the dealership you bought it from or any Skoda dealership, it's possible that the head unit simply doesn't recognise Asian lettering in ID3 Tags so it just defaults to the boxes you're seeing. -
That explains it Mine's only done 26k but I would like to think it can last towards 300k
-
If that's a Mk2 then holy ****!

What Twincharger motor will work in a Fabia III?
Skyl1n3 replied to mmmRacer's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
What's the current known capability of the highest-end Mk3? (110ps Monte) Can those not be modified and remapped to give a higher output pushing towards twincharger territory instead of dumping a whole twincharger into a Mk3 chassis? -
I can't believe they're going to give the Superb the vRS treatment but not their most popular friggen' seller. “People ask us ‘please build a Fabia vRS, it’ll be great!’ But we say back: ‘Will you buy it?’" ... Funny how Audi, VW and SEAT don't give a crap about having to ask that question, grow a god-damn backbone Skoda.
-
I don't think you can just manually set the idle speed it does get close to 700rpm after the initial warm-up, though I've heard a tuning box is able to somehow keep the car below 1k rpm on idle when the car is first started, might I ask why you want to do this though?

Mk3 Fabia Greenline / Monte Carlo / vRS - UPDATE
Skyl1n3 replied to skodaTDI's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
It does happen to catch my eye all the time, if only I could take out my twincharger and just plonk it into a Mk3 Monte I'll be all set -
Mk3 Fabia Greenline / Monte Carlo / vRS - UPDATE
Skyl1n3 replied to skodaTDI's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Oh well Skoda has until my PCP is up to release a Mk3 vRS, every time I see a Mk3 out and about (especially the Monte) I can't help but think how awesome it would be with a vRS spruce-up. ...something like this will do: -
Paddle Shift (Upgrade / Extension)
Skyl1n3 replied to A9X SJ's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I LIKE them. Actually looks OEM with the other silver accents on the wheel. -
Oh wow so even the new Fabia's have weak paint? :|
-
As far as I know the differences are the bonnet, headlights and slightly different bumper shape, I don't know about transplanting post-FL parts onto a pre-FL body though I'm sure someone has either done it or tried it.
-
Oh god I had that experience, except it was in-front of me on the motorway spraying f**k-tons of the stuff everywhere and just hearing it all hit my front-end was so painful I was bordering on weeping, but luckily I wasn't going as quick and I just ended up with a load of salt in and around the black grill which I promptly cleaned off, ******s.
-
It may not look that bad on the photo but in person it's easily visible, and I don't mind dead bugs e.t.c because they come off through cleaning, and because it's not a Lamborghini I shouldn't worry about the shoddy paint Skoda use? :|
-
Yikes, well I guess I can only let it get worse before I decide to do that. That's what I found out as well, loads of other people have had cars for up to 10 years and have maybe a few stone chips but these just love to chip it's ridiculous
-
Just finished washing the car and I couldn't help but look disgusted at how bad the front end looks now, all over the bumper it's just countless stone-chips with the white underneath sticking out it looks hideous. She'll be 3 years old at the end of the month and done roughly 25,500 miles but jesus christ I don't see how it can have chipping this bad; What's the best service to use to rid myself of these and what's the best protection method to avoid these in the future?

Mk3 Fabia Greenline / Monte Carlo / vRS - UPDATE
Skyl1n3 replied to skodaTDI's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Really annoys me that Skoda cave in to the "not sold enough Mk2 vRS's" yet VW/Audi/Seat don't care and they've probably sold more vRS's than all of them combined. -

Mk3 Fabia Greenline / Monte Carlo / vRS - UPDATE

Halfway through 2016 and still not even an ounce of hope or a slither of news regarding a new vRS :'( One can dream... -

I would really like a pair to give the wheel a spruce up but I'm worried it'll be like my wiper fiasco, order one, wait for delivery... turns out to be wrong, send it back, order another, wait again... possibly wrong again. Some of them look really badass too. EDIT: Got some snaps of my paddles which is a 2013 model which show the 3 ribs. So I'm assuming that means all the paddle extenders that have the 3 rib indents on the inside will fit... unless they have different 'ribbed' models of shifters? -
I absolutely HATE bloody potholes, I've driven past and over some that make such a judder it feels as though someone's hit me up the arse sometimes!! So basically I have to try and swerve to miss some that are ridiculously big/deep that never seem to get repaired or risk damaging my tires/alloys :swear:
-
Silly question but... why don't they cover the vRS model? Is it just because of the complexity of components like the DSG box?
-
My god I need whatever stuff you used, I can't see any trace of scratches in the after photos, could do with it on some little stone chips at the front. I've just come back from a fortnights holiday and my car was filthy and I didn't have the energy to give it a proper go over so took it to the jet wash and when rinsing it off I notice the water residing on the entire length of the left side in a weird wavy line, my heart immediately sank as I thought it was a bad scratch by some w*nker but on closer inspection it looks at though someone's handbag or buggy or something had rubbed all the way down the side and left a residual mark on it because it came off when I rub it thoroughly. It looked as though I'd seen a ghost when I first noticed it

Just popped to Sainsburys after getting my hair cut and thought I'd grab some Castrol Edge as I was walking past it, so when I got home checked the oil... something's not right I can't even see an oil line on the marker, cleaned it and checked it again and the same thing nothing showed on the marker then it hit me that it must be extremely low because it wasn't even touching the lowest end of the scale so I put 1L in and it barely pushed it past minimum, then chucked another 1L bottle in and now it's showing a good level. But why in the hell didn't the warning light/noise go off when it was that freaking low? I feel really bad now my poor baby's been starved of Oil... :'(
