  1. I can try and do this for you in the morning
  2. Post reply on this thread. No need to start a new one. Not sure it will help you though as the update will have come out before the latest run of phones. But worth getting the update.
  3. The battery will only cause errors within the ecu if the voltage is so low that the sensors read out of voltage parameters. Hence you get a Christmas tree when the battery is VERY low / dead. When the car is running however the battery does nothing as the alternator runs the car and charges the battery and will be at a steady 14v. The battery is only used for unlocking and locking, use of electronics when engine is off and starting the car.
  4. if you have sunglasses in the sunglasses holder by the cabin light this can cause rattling.
  5. This is the reason why I always warn people about OBD11... Did you do a backup before changing anything? Is your car Kessy (Keyless start) or traditional key start?
  6. If you use Apple Carplay (Android too) you can hold this down to activate Siri (google assistant). If you want this to be activated for use with Bluetooth connected phones you will need to have it activated via the dealer for a price.
  7. That UK member on the facebook groups would be me! If you are not getting much help the best thing you can do next is to download the wiring diagram for your car then double check the PIN / Colour of the wire you have connected into is the correct wire and what it corresponds to on the fabia wiring diagram. You will then be able to find the correct pin. https://cardiagn.com/2007-2014-fabia-current-flow-diagram-11-2010/
  8. Cheers mate! Means a lot. Loved it too, was an awesome car and had many adventures with it!! Would be nice to find the new owner
  9. Hi All, I used to own a 2010 Fabia 1.6tdi Elegance (FY60 URJ) which I traded in last year on a new mk3. I was wondering since if the new owner was on here at all? I have the service book still...
  10. Air-Con service every 2 years... i feel this is a 'Con' Spark Plugs every 40k. (If you are handy with spanners, its easy to do them yourself) Cambelt... £500!! NOPE! The Fabia has a separate water pump on the opposite side of the engine, So only cambelt is needed. Most independents will charge MAX £350. Skoda UK told me that the cambelt doesn't have a mileage recommendation for change, just check / replace at 5 years depending on wear. Brake fluid is worth having changed and its not expensive at £65.
  11. Been using this garage since 2015. In 2015 I was 18 and looking at buying a used Fabia 1.6tdi, the sales manager at the time helped me out but I could tell didn't believe that I was serious and didn't want to take any of my details to follow up or advise if any new stock came in. So I decided to get the car elsewhere. I brought my new Fabia in for its first service. Service was quick and easy, staff where helpful. BUT I was informed about an oil leak on the vehicle. I asked how do I go about checking this myself to see if it gets any worse, they said hmm you cant really, we would need to check it in 6 months. I replied, ok so its not serious then. (5 years later no oil leak, so they where fobbing me off) I brushed this off. After this the garage has been very accommodating for me. They serviced my mk2 4 times, cambelt change, engine mount replacement and diagnostic, DPF sensor replacement, adjusting and cleaning my rear break drums and ordering many parts that I have requested. Sue (who sadly leaving Azur at the end of Oct 21) has always served me and has been very helpful. My friend purchased a 2016 1.2tsi 90ps 37k Fabia CE from them back in August 2020. The sales rep was ok, there where a few dings and paint chips in the paint but they refused to reduce the price or fix them. Which was imho annoying. They did however sell the 2 x services for £79, floor mats, and umbrella for the passenger seat with the sale of the car. Sales team where ok, not stand out but not awful. - This car went in for its service and they reported a slight water leak from the water pump. We are monitoring this but worried it could be another false alarm due to being a 'new' customer. Which I understand is not good. They have recently serviced my latest Fabia which I purchased from Sinclair Skoda in Wales. After 1 month of ownership I had a rock hit my lower radiator which caused a leak. I knew what was wrong and went in, told them it was this part, gave them the part number I thought it was and they carried out the work, pricey but as it was under warranty I wanted to keep it all OEM, they where very helpful when I first noticed the coolant light come on and gave me some basic areas to check. (This was before I saw the stream of water from the front rad) Then after a year I had my first service which was easy, they respected my wishes to not have the exterior of the car cleaned but did hoover the inside as per my request. They also MOT'd the car recently (it failed due to lower control arm bushes) Sue called me and explained the issue but that she hasn't costed anything up as she knows I do my own work if I can. I repaired the vehicle myself and back in for a retest, all passed. The service team are very helpful at ordering you parts from Germany and looking up parts from other vehicles that are not visible on your VIN. Service is hit or miss, I still wonder about the leaks they mention. IF their is a oil leak or any leak the Visual health check should highlight this. Overall - Sales 4/5 out of 10 - Service 7 out of 10 (Sue 10/10) Be assertive with the techs and request evidence if you are ever unsure.
  12. My partner purchased a used 2017 Fabia 1.2tsi 90ps SE (42k miles) from Richmond Skoda Botley last July (2020). The sales staff where friendly and willing to let us test drive the 2 Fabia's we where looking at (1 x 1.0tsi and 1 x 1.2tsi) After we test drove the cars my partner decided to go for the 1.2. I noticed a few issues on the paint of the car, small chips on the rear O/S door which was rusting slightly (only surface) and a small mark on the front bumper. Front bumper and door where re sprayed before collection and at no extra cost. They also gave us the left over paint as touch up. The car was delivered with Auto Glym life shine free of charge (Full kit in the boot), a discount on the APR and 2 x services for £79 and new floor mats all round. Collection was smooth and effortless. The car was presented with a large bow on the bonnet which dwarfed the one I got off amazon for my partner as a surprise but the staff where happy to make it and put it on for me (I dropped it off a week earlier) Overall we where very happy with the service. BUT they did say they would check in on us before the 14 day cool off period. No call was made. But this is minor. We noticed after a while we had a humming from the rear N/S wheel. On its MOT which was done at a local garage they mentioned that the rear tyre was out of shape and that was what was causing the humming, before we got the tyre changed it went in for its service and as the car had a years used warranty the garage offered to check the humming out as a warranty check as I wanted to make sure it wasn't a wheel bearing. It wasn't luckily. They did say that the car would benefit from a 4 wheel alignment but I questioned this as the Fabia has a fixed rear axle and I had read that it couldn't be adjusted. The mechanic was adamant that it could be aligned. Overall a good garage, dealt with the sale nicely, sorted out the issues we highlighted and where accommodating when it came to collection.
  13. Its a main dealer. Did you really expect £79 to cover everything when paying full price for a service also doesn't include spark plugs. They are a business at the end of the day and will do anything to get more money. When mine went in for its first service with me they asked me if I wanted my spark plugs changed at 38k 4 years but told them no. I did them myself at home in 20 mins.
  14. This app isnt worth it imho. Mirrorlink is also not going to work as its for older devices before apple and android auto was made. The app works fine for me but doesnt work on my friends identical fabia... but like I said above. Dont waste time, its a crap app that doesnt benefit you at all... If you really want to use it, look into getting the 'Skoda Data Plug' dongle from skoda that allows you to connect to the car without plugging it in.
  15. K doesn't mean kit. The numbers denote the version of the part. You can have A, B, C, D and they all mean different versions of the original part. Some parts will also have a colour code after the PN (9B9 LK2 NF8 etc) for example the dash insert (grey metal, black carbon effect etc) the PN is 6V1 858 418, but you then have to list the version and colour code. The satin black inset is 6V1 858 418 A 9B9, the white piano insert is 6V1 858 418 A NP4 and the brushed effect (Standard fabia, S, SE, Colour Edition) is 6V1 858 418 A NH1. This is a great explanation of the PN's - https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/Blog/vw-part-numbers-explained/
  16. Spare wheel kit part numbers are as follows: Jack - 6R0 011 031 H Socket Wrench - 4D0 012 219 A (All vw ones are the same so get one from a scrappy for cheap) Screwdriver - 6R0 012 255 Tool Kit bag (Just the polystyrene tray) - 6V0 012 115 Holding strap - 6Q0 867 749 Bolt for spare wheel holding - 6Q0 803 899 A Extractor hook cap - wheel bolt - 8D0 012 244 A Extractor hook - 6X0 012 243 The spare wheel for the car is a 15" 5x100 6JX15 ET38 part number is 6R0 601 027 Hope this helps
  17. The stock radio has the radio unit slotted sideways from the glovebox. This unit is the older style and will require the dash to be cut away behind the radio for it to fit. This is just guessing from the photos but doesn't look like a straight swap.
  18. First photo is microphone for the infotainment system and second photo of the larger slits at the back are for the interior alarm sensors.
  19. You might encounter component protection issues. @pab567 is the guy who knows these radios!
  20. Great guide as always and always enjoy following your retrofits. Can you replace the drivers motor (engine) with the one you have mentioned and get one touch windows / comfort opening and closing coded in without the installation of the rear windows?
  21. Oh dont get me wrong I wasn't complaining about the 5 speed, I just sometimes want to put it into the invisible 6th. Its very eco. I've done 14k this year alone in mine with 587 miles / 59.3mpg Logged using Fuelly being my best mileage per tank (achieved this twice). It sits at around 2600/2700 ish at 70mph on the motorway.
  22. Skoda themselves told me there is no mileage interval but belts are advised to be changed every 5 years. This wasn't my dealer but Skoda UK. But lets not start the cambelt debate on this ops post asking for help and advice.
  23. Cambelts should ideally be changed every 5 years due to rubber wearing down. Would you use the same tyres on your car for over 5 years... I certainly wouldn't. (ps look out for a blue colour edition with yellow fog lights in chi, give me a flash if you see me) For the OP. The 1.2tsi is a great little engine, the 110ps 6 speed is the best option. I have the 90ps 5 speed which is fine but I do long for the 6th gear on motorways. Skoda recommend spark plugs be done every 40k and cambelt every 5 years (there is no mileage interval on it) the water pump is not driven off the cambelt on these as its on the other side of the engine run off its own belt and this doesn't need to be changed when the belt does. The Monte Carlo is a dress up of a basic SE trim. (Made to look sporty plus glass pano roof) the extras over normal trims are the seats, dash trim, wheel (red stitch) and dress up kit. The only annoyance with the MC is the lack of cruise control and imho garish coloured trim and centre console. These engines have been found to go way over 100k without issues and keep going. The issues to look out for on these Mk3 models are as follows. - Lower control arm rear bushings can perish around 20k-40k (Mine failed its recent mot on these at 42k) - Easy to spot when looking under the car behind the front wheel, its a large circular bushing that perishes. - cracking roof glass on the monte carlos is common so I wouldn't recommend using with a roof rack. (worth checking your insurance windscreen cover covers roof glass... its a £2k+ replacement if it does go) - turbo actuator - door handle chrome peeling off / breaking - blower motor resistor (fan only working on setting 4) Also check to make sure the ice scrapper is in the fuel cap (if missing) ask dealer to order you one. If purchasing from main dealer, ask for the umbrella to go under the passenger footwell, floor mats and the 2 x services for £79.
  24. Hi Buddy, no worries! Just take it easy and take your time. Its worth investing in some trim removal tools and radio keys. I got mine from amazon. Tools - https://amzn.to/3zgw8UA Radio keys - https://amzn.to/2XpoXwk Camera I got is this (I have fitted 3 of these now) - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32967087437.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.48924c4dCL4Rge (Mine arrived in just under 10 days) I then loomed the cables using Tessa felt tape. - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262273221513 When fitting I ran a fuse tap for the power of the camera at the fuse box end as didnt have access to the correct pin for the fuse box. Thats the only difference I did. A little tip I found was using large long cable ties to pull wires through the boot metal and C pillar. To code the camera I used OBDEleven. But you can use this map to locate a member who can code it for you for beer tokens / small fee - Any questions feel free to ask on DM. I do offer fitting of these cameras if you are local to West Sussex.
  25. Technically... Yes... is it feasible... No. You would need to dismantle all of the components and solder new LED's onto the circuits. Its a common mod on the dash cluster on the Mk1 Fabs. But basically no... you're stuck with the green.
