  1. Its really easy to run a wired camera and its OEM fitment too... I used an Ali Express kit @ £45 delivered. I wouldn't recommend wireless cameras due to interference from radio, dab etc. Just more hassle than worth. I used this guide by @wirer - https://wirer.sk/f3_rear-camera/
  2. Skoda informed me that the Fabia is a every 5 year belt interval. There is no mileage recommendation on the belt.
  3. The rear beam is fixed on all Fabias. 99-21. There is no toe adjustment on the rear.
  4. The filament is blown. Just as it heats up it welds itself together again. Hit a pothole and it will fail again.
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4CWH5p5VWM&feature=emb_title
  6. Wont be because of DG but more likely due to emissions regs...
  7. If the fan has stopped working. check max setting. If it works on MAX but not on anything over itll be the blower motor resistor that's blown
  8. If you still need to get hold of one. A local breakers yard near me had a few fabias in with tyre kits, the kit itself was £45 with the jack, tools etc but not an actual wheel as I have a set of 4 16" alloys at home which I used. But worth getting used as it will save you a lot of money. Edit Ask for the spare wheel that came out of the fabia as well as that will mean you get the right one. https://www.silverlake.co.uk/breakers/details/Skoda-Fabia-2015-On-Monte-Carlo-TSi-5-Door-Estate/30768 https://www.silverlake.co.uk/breakers/details/Skoda-Fabia-2015-On-SE-MPi-5-Door-Estate/28832 https://www.silverlake.co.uk/breakers/details/Skoda-Fabia-2015-On-SE-MPi-5-Door-Hatchback/29907 Here is a few links. They also ship across the country and world wide so doesnt matter where you are.
  9. Go claim it as it should last the life of the car. Its poor quality control so should be fine within warranty.
  10. Carista is a great tool and is growing with features year on year. I have had it for years. (Only recently upgraded to OBDEleven when I retrofitted fog lights into my Colour Edition and needed to code them in) If you just want to activate the basics like Scandinavian DRL's (rear lights on with drl), needle sweep, unlock all doors, hill hold assist then paying £25 for the Carista dongle on amazon is your best option and being that its just a simple click to activate its fool proof. OBD11 on the other hand is more advanced and can cause issues if you do something wrong as you will be doing the coding yourself. BUT that said, if you do backups and make notes of the coding before you change it, you can always revert what you've done easily. This tool is great if you plan on retrofitting add ons like, reversing camera, auto light sensor, fog lights, washer fluid level sensors etc etc as this tool allows you to delve into the long coding. Plus if you are planning on coding more than your own car within the VAG range and not only a Fabia its also a little better. But for the many Carista is the better option and far cheaper, plus you only activate the options once and then you wont touch the device again until you need to read a code. You can get a free months trial of Carista PRO which gives you full access. Carista - Basic but great for your average joe who just wants to have simple and easy adaptations (£25) OBDEleven - For those at home DIY / Driveway mechanics and those who want to do more advanced coding. (£125) For the full list of what you can do on the Fabia have a look at the list I created on here. -
  11. I got a break failure warning due to a dying battery. Get it tested at a local garage. Even halfords can test it. These Mk3 fabias kill batteries.
  12. Thank you @ChalmersCameron for bringing this to my attention. - That's not good at all and I will remove the link asap as that's not cool at all. If you've not received the parts I would advise contacting your bank if you didn't use PayPal. Sorry to hear of the issues. Its never nice to hear. Hope you can resolve it soon and you're able to come out with a good outcome.
  13. Hi GRowland, I have done all of those myself. Reversing camera was the most challenging. I found the guides to do the Reversing Camera and Washer Sensor from @wirer and his website https://wirer.sk/f3zmeny/ I have written up a guide on the front fog lights which you can find here.
  14. Never formally introduced myself on the Fabia MkIII page. So please let me introduce Fred the Fabia! I Purchased my Fabia back in September 2020 from Sinclair Skoda in Swansea. Traded in my loved Mk2 Fabia which I had for exactly 5 Years to the day of trade in (Coincidence) 2017 Fabia III Colour Edition 1.2tsi 90ps (28,700 miles) (Race Blue) Cruise Control Heated Seats Light Assist (Auto Lights) Spare Wheel Managed to get them to chuck in the passenger seat umbrella as part of the sale. Since purchase I have done a few adaptations / changes to Fred. Activation of Hill Hold Assist, Needle Sweep, Unlock Lock Beep, Refuel quantity and Lap Timer. Centre Arm Rest Flat Bottom Steering Wheel (Monte Carlo) Monte Carlo Dash Trim Reversing Camera Front Fog Lights Wrapped Front Grill Washer Fluid Level Sensor Yellow Fog Light Tint Black Badges all round Wind Deflectors Footwell RGB Lights Done nearly 10k Miles in it so far and loving it!! Photo below of the day I put the deposit down A few photos of the changes I have made! (Red Fabia SE is my Partners)
  15. The tailgate is a sealed unit. So no water should be getting in there to drain out unless your washer hose fails which I doubt or the rubber hoses at the top that contain the wiring pop off which I can tell you is a right paint to remove / unclip in the first place. If you removed those grommets and have the boot shut the water that sprays onto the flat part of the rear bumper / where the boot closes too will then allow water into the boot and overtime, could end up with rust.
  16. That item you are pointing at is the watepump and distribution block. These engines waterpumps are driven by a separate belt on the left hand side of the engine. If you google the number on the first picture 04C 121 600 L it comes back as waterpump. I wouldn't expect the head gasket to be leaking at only 16k miles... and if it was you'd have other issues like over heating, occasional white smoke from the exhaust etc. I would say the waterpump gasket has failed. My friends 1.2tsi had a recent service and they warned him of a slight leak on his waterpump. My first thing I would do is remove all water from that area, dry it up and then get your partner to turn the car on, wait for it to get up to temp and then give it some small revs to get the waterpump spinning faster and watch for any leaks.
  17. The flat bottom wheel on the Octavia is the same as the Fabia Monte. Only difference is the VRS is grey stitch and the Monte is Red stitch. Also the Octavia one if automatic will have DSG paddles. I replaced my stock Fabia wheel with the Monte Flat bottom wheel. It is a direct replacement.
  18. I owned a 1.6TDI CR DPF 105 for 5 years. 35k miles when purchased in Sep 2015. Drove it until I traded it in at 119k miles for a Fabia III 1.2tsi 90 Colour Edition. In that time I did a lot of mixed driving, overall... I Miss it a lot since selling... Overall I would say if looked after and run on good quality fuel and YOU DO THE MILES!!! It will be a good keeper. These car do NOT like pootling around on 10 mile commutes. They need a good 30+ mile motorway run at 70 to really clear the DPF on a regen so if you dont plan on doing loads of motorway miles 2-3 times a week you MIGHT end up with some issues but that's always a guessing game as some suffer worse than others. In my ownership I had to replace normal consumables like shocks, clutch, flywheel etc but engine wise (what you really want to know) I had to replace AC pump, DPF Pressure sensor, MAP sensor, N75 Valve, Turbo actuator, and Cat and DPF due to me clogging them driving a lot in limp mode due to the turbo actuator failing. Previous owner had an exhaust sensor fail before 35k, My DPF sensor failed before 50k (£250) and AC compressor was around 60k (£450) . Clutch and Flywheel went at 88k (around £800). The Map, N75, Turbo actuator and Cat / DPF all failed when the car broke down badly at 118k. Total cost was £1500 to get back on the road. BUT don't let this put you off. I loved that car and its such a great economical engine, I had mine remapped by More-BHP to 139bhp and it was awesome. Top Tips - Drive it hard, get the revs up when pulling onto motorways, use good quality fuel and service at 10k miles or less. I did 8k per service. Dont buy if you only plan on driving around a city with little LONG motorway miles. Also If you are looking at one make sure if its had the FIX applied to have that removed by a local tuner as its an awful fix and does more harm than good.
  19. To remove the upper grill its a bumper off job then remove. If you are trying to remove the chrome trim its 99% chance it will break up in your hands when removing. Here is some material on how to do it. Removing the grill
  20. Hi, you have posted this in the Fabia 3 (NJ) forum so no one here will be able to post. @john999boywill be able to move your post to the relevant forum. But I would suggest you contact a local breakers yard. Any octavia from the same year will work for your vehicle. Being a small part most will even post to you. A good breakers near me that posts is www.silverlake.co.uk
  21. You will need to get it scanned to know exactly what is wrong with it. Could be that it needs re calibrating ?
  22. Its the blanking hole for the LHD cars wing mirror adjustment. Its pressed in from behind so you would need to remove the door card to fit it in. The replacement part number is 5J0 867 329 A (see image below) Pop into Skoda themselves and speak to the service desk, they will be able to order you the part and I doubt it will cost much (Under £1 I bet). They will also be able to search the part using your Reg. I noticed yours is a 2012 model though, you've posted this on the mk3 2015+ forum. @john999boy will be able to move this into the relevant forum for you.
  23. The red is a little unsightly isnt it... To answer your question that centre console will fit fine. The are all the same design etc just the Monte is red... ironically they no longer do it in red on the newer Montes. Wonder why!
  24. aftermarket sensors run on their own system. Power, ground, signal wire (from reversing light) they won’t cause any errors if fitted correctly.
