  1. Personally I would be using the Car Play / Android auto feature and satnav on your phone. Unless the previous owner never got this activated at the dealer.
  2. Worth getting them to see if there is an update for your infotainment system. Could well be a bug
  3. Have you tried plugging your phone into the vehicle using your iphone? All Fabias after 2015 (16+) has Android Auto and Car Play. Best to try plug your phone in and if it says it needs to be activated by the dealer then ask for this to be done inclusive of the cars cost. Also make sure you ask for the 2 x service play @ £79 (i think it was that cost, might be £89) + full set of floor mats and the umbrella under the passenger footwell as that usually goes walkabouts when a car gets handed back in after its 3 year pcp.
  4. Loving the build so far!! I am curious about the beat subwoofer. I am guessing the Up! GTI had the beats amp under the seat which is how youre going to run it to the radio? Only reason for asking is I would be interested to know if the sub can be run without an amp via the standard radio... do you think this is possible?
  5. Welcome to the group! You will certainly find a lot of useful posts on here for your octy
  6. I looked into this. the bushes are £15 each then you need to get someone to press the bush out which usually has the chance to bend the thin metal. Its pretty much the same price as replacing the whole arm and in doing do you replace the front bushing too. Only time you really want to pres the old bushing out for a new one is if youre going for a poly bush or replacing for audi tt solid bushes.
  7. Super common issue on these mk3's I replaced mine myself. Each lower arm costs around £35 ish (price varies). Its not a hard swap and any garage will be able to do it easily. But you will need to have a full front alignment after as the suspension is being played with. It is best to get both sides done as if the O/S has failed the N/S wont be far off. I would guess around £250 ish all in from a local independent. Alternatively if you want to do it yourself the parts are. Right - https://www.gsfcarparts.com/422vg1161 Left - https://www.gsfcarparts.com/422vg1151 60% off at the moment with code 'END60'
  8. I jack off the rear lower control arm joint on the front and on the rear axle beam mounting point. Done this on all 3 generations of fabia without issue. You can also use a trolley jack with a sill adaptor like this if you prefer- https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-car/volkswagen/golf-mk5/bushes-by-powerflex/powerflex-jack-pad-adaptor-vag-pf3-1661/?cmp_id=1624059255&adg_id=61207848185&kwd=&device=c&gclid=CjwKCAiA0KmPBhBqEiwAJqKK42fydIWtUnYe-XPriSFy5T876LFQexz2vjjO0wDYSt41axNDKpL-jBoCRfwQAvD_BwE I then place an axle stand on the folded seam with a sill protector pad on top so that I don't fold / crush the jacking sill point. I use really cheap rubber ones at the moment which are OK at best but not 100% imho. - https://amzn.to/3tMYRS4 - They work for now. Always worth having 2 wheel chocks too to place on the wheels still on the ground for extra safety.
  9. Sorry to hear about your Skoda experience and warranty claims... At least I can speak from experience on Volvos customer service which is good. My dads XC60 2.0TDI was burning oil after its recall. They worked on the car multiple times to work out the issue and in the end the engine was completely replaced free of charge. The car was a 2014 @ 98k miles and had the engine replaced in 2020. No problems just did what was needed. Otherwise its been an incredible car and very reliable.
  10. Welcome to the forum!! Lovely car and hope you have many happy miles and motoring ahead of you What colour did you choose?
  11. Seen this crop up across Facebook groups recently on the mk3. Being winter its showing the age of the batteries. Plus the mk3 stop start stops the car from charging the battery to full. Its recommended to turn off stop start when traveling on the motorway or long journeys, and turning it back on again when you enter the city for stop start driving. Low voltage on the battery can cause the ECU / BCM to receive faults as a result. The sensors receive low voltage which then send a wrong voltage to the ECU / BCM causing the car to think there is a fault as a result causing those errors. If you don't drive the car a lot its worth investing in a smart charger (CTEK) to keep these battery topped up but its worth also getting the current battery tested as if its dead its not worth charging it over and over again, best to replace and keep topping the new one up to help with longevity. They are not cheap to replace either as they are AGM batteries and require coding once installed.
  12. Its been completed by @wirerhe has a full guide on the process here - https://wirer.sk/f3_tempomat/
  13. Unfortunately all your doing here is talking about your experiences rather than trying to actually help the OP. These items are wear items and are cooled passively by the air entering the heater matrix before the air is either cooled by the AC or heated up by the coolant so the cooling is dependant on the ambient temp, they resistors do get VERY HOT and do fail after years of constant use just like any wear items on cars. Unless you are going to actually help the op please refrain from filling up the forum with useless posts that are just creating bloat to a simple question.
  14. Quite common on all vehicles. I have seen it happen on Ford, BMW's (mini) and a fair few mk2 and mk3 Skoda fabias. Really simple to change BUT do not go for cheap, I replaced my Fiesta one with a cheap £10 ebay job and it lasted a few months, replaced with Ford OEM part and its been fine ever since. This was back in 2015. I still have the car now. The part number for the resistor is - 6Q0 959 263 A Below is the workshop manual on how to replace the resistor. It is very simple. Firstly remove the glove box Then you will be able to locate the resistor within the fan unit. The diagrams are for LHD vehicles but the process is the same on RHD just flipped.
  15. M6 x 16 hex / torx heads. I ordered mine from here and worked perfectly fine. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232246104788
  16. @pab567 and @wirer are the two who will know! I fitted an AliExpress reversing camera to 4 fabias now using wirers guide. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32967087437.html?spm=a2g0o.9042311.0.0.1abe4c4dqi16Ys
  17. I have been using solder heat tubing for a while now, its great stuff. Can get boxes of various sizes for not too cheap from china.
  18. If you do not have that button then I don't think you will have the anti theft alarm. Although I thought all modern fabias had them.
  19. If you have coding tools you can code it out but it will throw an error etc. Chichester is aweful for battery charging anyway... slow bypass and traffic...
  20. Quite common for people to do that. Turning the SS off via the button on long journeys allows the car to charge the battery over 80% too.
  21. There are different types of touch screens out there so not sure which one the fabia uses. But a dirty screen can cause static and phantom presses. (try using your iphone or similar in the rain... the touch screen just stops working) Glad you sorted it (hopefully) by giving it a good clean. Keep us posted.
  22. Does it get faster when you rev the engine more? These 1.2tsi's had a common issue with the chain stretching and causing it to sound like a bag of nails. Post 2012 the later 1.2tsi (2012-14) had the revised tensioner fitted. Do you know if yours has had this fix at all?
  23. There are multiple radios within the Fabia. does your have 3 buttons per side, 4 buttons per side or 4 buttons per side with one saying NAV? This will help members to give you the correct advise. Since the car is a 2019 you are still under warranty I presume. I would ask a tech to come out and check it and go for a little drive to show it doing it in motion.
  24. The proccess of fitting heated seats is very similar to what youve mentioned, but you dont have to replace the seats just install the heated elements within the current seats by removing the covers and installing the heating elements then re applying the seat covers. Its a lot of work to retrofit them as per OEM spec.
  25. So I have just checked the wiring and its all covered up in conduit. so no visible wires. Have a look through this. - https://cardiagn.com/skoda-fabia-mk3-current-flow-diagram/ (use search feature for plug connector) Its the wiring diagrams for the fabia. The plug you are looking for is called T8L and its an 8Pin
