Not sure if this is a eureka moment or not but the 'buttons' above and below both the volume control and the scroll control are actually active... Can skip tracks/stations etc. Is this widely known or have I just had my head under a stone...?

Going off this link, H8 is the correct fitting? I'm looking to get some of these (http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/philips-whitevision-h8-twin) to replace the yellow halogen ones fitted at the factory. I want to maintain the fade in/out rather than the on/off of LED bulbs.

Have your tried MirrorLink yet? ALL APPS ARE SUPPORTED as it is literally just mirroring your phones screen to the car's display. I had to use the native car app that come with my phone to get the landscape viewpoint, and then add the apps to the shortcut menu, but it works great. Was weird watching YouTube on the screen, everso slight sync issue, but totally watchable. I tried AndroidAuto too and found that it lacked app support. With MirrorLink you can use Waze instead of Google Maps... I'm planning a short video to bung up on YouTube soon.

I'm also coming from a C Class, estate though, and the difference is huge!! Granted I only had the basic SE version, but the SEL Exec is just leaps ahead. I must say that I was a little blinded by the shiny 3 pointed star initially and I did get a good deal at the time when I got the car. Now after 4 years of Merc motoring it was a no brainer to go for the Superb. Bigger car, comfier seats, nicer interior, better tech/extras. Never again will the badge sway me. My 6 yr old daughter likes it the most as now when she is sat behind me, 6'2", she has LEGROOM! The C Class might be an estate, but its still quite small inside. The boot is also quite shallow. Only picked mine up on Saturday, but I like the exclusivity. Only seen a handful on the road since launch so it still feels quite special.

No, was down at Bluewater yesterday. Nice drive down actually! Managed 51.8mpg. Car only has 145 miles on it so far too!

Try taking a pic with your ohone and then setting it as the contact pic for someone in your phone book. See if that method works. I'll double check mine to see if any FB pics are coming through. I suppose it could be the way the phone saves the contact pics... live connection vs. saving locally.

I'm using the Car app that comes as default on my phone (HTC One M8). It defaults to landscape and is meant to be used when the phone is docked in the HTC car cradle. When connected to the car, the app fired up on it's own and worked fine. Will do some more investigating. I plan to make a video and post to YouTube at some point.

After a long wait, I finally took delivery of my Superb today. It's an SEL Exec Combi Tdi 150 and its fantastic. Went for Business Grey and it really does look great. For some reason I was missing the torch/light in the boot, but my sales guy acquired one from another car in the showroom. So far have only done 40 miles, but have a long trip planned tomorrow to get some miles on it and more driving experience. Tried both Android Auto and MirrorLink and found the latter a better experience as more apps seemed to work through the in car screen. Was weird seeing YouTube on there... I have a question though, when using MirrorLink, is it possible to turn the phone display off? Every time I tried, it would sever the connection and show a message about having to unlock the phone again...

Really...? OK. MirrorLink allows you to mirror the display of your smartphone, both Android and iPhone supported, to your Columbus (Amundsen?) head unit. Hook up your phone to the usb port next to the gear lever and then follow the prompts on both the phone and head unit display. YOu'll eventually be seeing your phone 'mirrored' on the in car display! Read the glovebox manual for more info, I didn't really do it justice!! I had YouTube, GoogleMaps, Waze and just about all apps I threw at it working through the head unit display today. You've also got AndroidAuto, but I didn't find it as good.

IIRC There is an option that needs ticking to import them. The are appearing from my HTC One (M8) on my Columbus unit. I did have to allow a lot of things on the phone though when I first connected. Had about 4-5 popup messages. It's a stock M8 running Android 6 (Marshmallow). Have you tried Mirrorlink yet? Mind blown!!

I did a quote yesterday with Click4Gap and GapInsurance.co.uk and got a cheaper quote from the latter. Picking my car up on Saturday, so will be purchasing GAP once the car is on the drive.

Is the phone set to play the audio through the car? Can't talk for iOS, but on Android you can choose where the audio goes when you connect via bluetooth. Useful if you have a bluetooth headset in the car instead of playing through the car speakers.

^^^^ This and get some Metallic T-Cut, lay the paint on liberally and then rub down using a suitable cloth and T-Cut. It will look like new.

This was one of the first things I chose when I specc'd my car. Had it in previous cars so didn't want to be without it.

Literally got a set of the 'Prestige Grey Line' mats delivered yesterday. The quality is great! Get the car on the 19th so not long now!!
