vRS white smoke from exhaust?
I did think this but its 11c outside so not exactly cold. And would that happen every time you rev it hard or just the first few times? Curious to know if anyone else with a vRS has noticed this.

vRS white smoke from exhaust?
I've noticed that when I accelerate hard in my 2022 vRS (petrol) I get quite a bit of white smoke from the tail pipes when I get past 5000rpm. It's done 1800 miles (run in period observed) and I only put my foot down once oil temp is above 90c. Should I be worried or do they all do this? I sometimes have to put the rear wiper on the wipe the back window as it clouds up. Any ideas? And on a side note, is there a nack to getting the dipstick out? I went to check oil at weekend and was in a rush but couldn't get the dipstick out.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
I had the same notification in my car this weekend. Says I should check the cover before I drive it and take it to a dealer if it feels loose so they can remove it. VW group ownership is a bit rubbish these days. My A4 had a recall that I had to wait 6 months for a fix. It was bad enough that they said I can drive it but couldn't park it in a garage, underground or multistory car park. Luckily it was during lockdown when I didn't travel much.

Great on the motorway…
Mine is a manual so this wouldn't work for me. I've done this in a hire car before though and I'm not a fan, I prefer to accelerate and stop at my own speed and i find the ACC brakes a bit too harsh for my liking. I will use it when I'm in the long average speed zones in the M6 though.

Great on the motorway…
I did a 200 mile run from Bristol to Blackburn in my 2022 vRS Estate last month. I got 44mpg which i was more than happy with, especially as the car only had 600 miles on the clock. I mostly stuck to the speed limit and there were some slow sections as the weather got worse the closer to Blackburn I got which will have helped the MPG. I was keen to test the ACC as i've read lots of comments and it worked as i would expect it to work. No issues overtaking and when the traffic slowed it seemed to auto brake and i noticed a car icon on the dash so i pressed the accelerator and it allowed the undertake. I only had to do this once and it was a genuine undertake so it did exactly as i was expecting.

Video play - anyone?
Any idea how this is possible? Not sure if want to use it while driving but handy if I'm waiting in the car for any prolonged period of time.

Roof bars - what do you have?
For those with a vRS with the black roof rails, do they scratch when you attach the roof bars? I'm worried that if i used some they would scratch the roof rails and any scratches would stand out as they are gloss black.

Exhaust replacement 2.0tsi VRS?
Does anyone know what the price of the Remus or Milltek exhaust is?

Full Matrix Headlights
I've had my vRS a couple of weeks and they work alot better than the lights on my old A4. I was always getting flashed with the A4 lights, but the vRS lights seem to just dance around the cars around me and no flashes so far. It was ready interesting to see them working in the fog.

Service Schedule for 2022 vRS
Mine is the 2.0 TSI. I do upto 10,000 miles a year but last few years has been less due to covid. (My A4 went back with 23k on clock after 3 years). It's mostly short trips and the 9 mile trip to the office a couple of days a week. It does get longer runs at the weekend and the occasional 200 mile run up north. I will keep the car for 4 years at least and will seriously consider paying the balloon so keen to keep it in as best condition I can. I'm leaning towards just getting it done annually. Seems better to pay less each year than one big lump sum every two years. Can the service interval be changed in the car once it's been set?

Service Schedule for 2022 vRS
Its a NEW car, it had 10 miles on the clock when i collected it. I bought the service plan which gives me the first two services for £199. The service intervals look to be variable / flexible as the Skoda Connect app is telling me 707 days for Service Inspection. Oil change says "Not Found", i'm assuming i haven't done enough miles yet for it to work out when the oil change is due.

Service Schedule for 2022 vRS
Thanks for the info I got the details of the Service Plan in the post today. It just says my plan includes 1 x Oil and Inspection Service and 1 x Oil and Inspection Extended Scope. It says contact my local Skoda retailer to book in a service when its due. So it looks like Year 3 i'm due a brake fluid change at the same time as MOT and then year 4 is the 2nd free service plus spark plugs and pollen filter. I'd still prefer a booklet with the car so its really clear what is due and when.

Service Schedule for 2022 vRS
I collected my vRS last week which came with the service plan. I paid for 2 x Oil and Inspection services. From what i gather the only replacement parts this includes is the oil change. Where do i find out what the service schedule is as its currently showing me the next service is in 707 days!! I'm keen to understand what else will need doing as i can't imagine it only needs 2 oil changes in 4 years, especially with it being a performance car. I imagine i'll end up over servicing it if anything. I hate that you don't seem to get a service book for VAG cars these days. My Seat Ibiza 3 (3 cars ago) came with a booklet that fully described all of the checks that were due every year. Including things like check wheel bearings on year 2, check xxx on year 3, xxx on year 4 etc. My previous Audi didn't come with anything and you are reliant on the dealer telling you when things like brake fluid is due.

Delivery times?
Nice little pack you got there, my collection wasn't the best experience and no goodies like that. Love those seats, wish they were an option when I ordered mine. I bet they really finish of the interior!

Delivery times?
I collected mine this morning. vRS Estate with DCC ordered in May. Is it normal to have condensation on the headlights when they are new? I'm hoping it goes away once i start using it. Got some photos though which i'll send to the dealer.

Tyre Insurance from Skoda, any good?
I collect my new vRS Estate tomorrow and the dealer has offered Tyre and Alloy insurance for £250. I ALWAYS get punctures within the first 12 months with my previous cars so was tempted to buy it. Has anyone ever claimed on Skoda Tyre insurance? Is it like for like, ie if i change the brand of tyres in the future would they replace for the same brand?

Boot liner tray
I need to buy one too so keen to see what others have bought. Do they come with mats or do I need to buy them too? I remember with my old Skoda Rapid it was cheaper to buy official mats from the parts department than order them new with the car.

Skoda Octavia IV pictures thread
Soon to be ex Audi owner with a vRS estate on order. Mine comes in two weeks in exactly the same colour. Can't wait to get it

Correct way to open and close the bonnet on mk4 Octavia.
I didn't realise there was a technique to closing a bonnet. I've always just let them drop and slam shut, or on the Audi which has gas struts just pull it down until the weight shifts and let it slam.

Delivery times?
Same dealer as me. I haven't tried to call them though, i normally email the sales guy and he's quick at responding. This is my 3rd car from them and they are normally pretty good.

Delivery times?
Its a vRS 2.0 TSI Estate with the dynamic suspension as the only option.

Gen 3 Glasscoat
If you were contemplating spending £400 on the glass protection from the dealer I'd search for someone locally who does a new car detail package. I'm sure you could get the whole car done for similar or less money by someone who'll spend most of the day working on your car.

Delivery times?
Mine is in the UK and I'll have it this month. Ordered in May 21 and was quoted delivery of Dec 21 so i can't complain. Dealer kept in contact every few months to give me updates. Can't wait to get it, I've always wanted a vRS since the first ones came out.

Delivery times?
Seems a few of us have just had similar emails from our dealers. I've just had an email to say my car has changed to STATUS30 which means its built and is in transit to the port and to expect it early in the new year. Good news as I was previously told to plan for it not being here by Feb when my lease car goes back.

Delivery times?
Ordered mine in May for December delivery. I was told it was delayed by 5 weeks a few months ago and have now been told it will be here early 2022. My lease car goes back in Feb, if its not here by then do Skoda hire cars out at discounted rates for customers who's orders have been delayed?
