Perhaps the PD engines don't have a counter then, in which case the dealer can't tell
-
Also worth looking at Angel tuning, which do switchable mapping, as do Star (I believe). OneClick and Angel reflashes the ECU each time you switch between stock and performance, whereas Revo and CC you are switching the map on/off i.e. the extra code is held in the ECU at all times. The dealer can find about about both types
-
It will need reflashing, either by AmD (BBT) or DNA Tuning. As I understand it the unit 'locks' itself to the ECU when first used and can only be used on that ECU. Best to contact Custom Code to see if you can use an older version of VAG-COM with their software, I'm not sure. Also was your 311 a free version of VAG-COM? I surprised you unlocked the cruise feature with it.
-
How about Custom Code? Switchable with VAG-COM. Plus they're (were) offering a discount, so came to about £340 all in.

PM W-Tron he's been trying to arrange a meet for ages.

I'm not sure how some (actually mainly one or two )of you can get such low figures  I generally get 44 - 49mpg (brim-to-brim method), thats with a dragon tuning box, a 15k old air filter and plenty of enthusiastic driving Those with poor economy should try driving with the revs higher (at least 2k), and stop nannying it. Low revs seem to equal low economy

Jam a bent paperclip either side of wire and the wire should pull out -

It certainly sounds like it Have you used a converter cable from the VAG wiring loom and the headunit, if I remember correctly live feed and switched feeds need swapping over. You can either pull the plug apart or buy the adapter. Search the ICE forum for the proper answer Oh, and Welcome -
I think you may of read an article comparing PD engines to common rail engines. Either way just buy a TDi to begin with
-
remember points mean prizes Good to know you're giving it a good testing
-
forgot to add, might be worth a brake fluid change

Hello and welcome In order: wheels: 100x5. 16" or 17" will be fine. Personally I'd go for 17, maybe OCty vRS MkI chassis: same as polo / ibiza. There are plenty of suspension kits around for the fabia, take a look at the site sponsors brakes: fabia vRS may fit (with other chages - not sure). Are you sure the pads and disks are in good condition.

The problem is as already mentioned, if you don't answer the phone they will keep trying to contact you. Hopefully they'll phone back one evening and you can politely tell them where to go I also return junk mail in the freepost envelope, and ensure that its over the weight / size limit for the prepaid postage, that way its costs them an extra pound to receive it.

Cameras never had to be yellow, it was just a DfT recommendation. I think its been omitted as a recommendation as well now. I've heard that too regarding the cameras, but not sure. Surely they are digital anyway...

I don't understand clean engines. Fine on a show car where every point from the judge counts, but on a day-to-day car  Having said that, there are some good (clean ) examples up there, and I'm sure there are worst ways to spend your free time.
-
If its safe to do so, I see no real problem. I wouldn't let it get too you, theres more important things to worry about
-
I generally get... 'they're basically a VW anyway' or 'they're pretty nippy those things' Oddly enough I get the second one mainly from men in petrol stations / garages, when I make no mention of the car at all
-
CS theres no need to plug your mouse in, you don't really need to drag the plane at all
-
He's a genius Without him the podcasts would of been nothing - I hope they bring them back soon!
-
Forgot to say, that if you're going to buy VAG-COM, you may as well get the current release 7.04 (IIRC), however this will mean a new cable as well.
-
You'll want the Modern serial one. You'll also need a USB driver for your cable (i.e. to emulate a serial device). This will of either came with your cable or its available to download on the net somewhere.

OBC MPG gauge even more optimistic now since remap
*tim* replied to fletch555's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Mines anywhere between 10 - 20% out As to how it works it out, I'm sure it randomly selects a number between 40 and 60 each trip... -
Me too. Think there's a few of us around here now

*cough* if you're still unsure goto your local VAG and tell them what vehicle its for. Oh, and welcome!
