  1. The lights on warning buzzer only works if you open the driver's door. It won't go off if you exit via the passenger door. Thanks AG Falco
  2. The first part was how to do it with a manual car. ( useful to other people ) The second part was a question ( to you ) if you have an automatic. ( which you have ) ? I don't have an automatic and I don't know the answer. Thanks AG Falco
  3. In a manual car you can try to start the engine but without putting the clutch down first. This puts the ignition on but won't start the engine. What happens if you put it in gear before you try to start it? Or do you need to put the ignition on before you can put it in gear. Thanks AG Falco
  4. These figures are the American DOT ones not the European ones. Thanks AG Falco
  5. I would expect to see more than that with a new charged battery. Thanks AG Falco
  6. Very common on newer cars. Indicator in the top right hand corner of the MFD. Multi Function Display. It will also indicate when to change up a gear ( or two ) to help with fuel consumption. A hard acceleration is more likely to indicate a lower gear is better. A lighter throttle application might not indicate a lower gear is wanted. This can also change depending whether your are going uphill, downhill or on the flat. Thanks AG Falco
  7. I'm sure I paid for the extra large fuel tank option. Is that how I get my average speed up? Thanks AG Falco
  8. Do the Michelin Primacy tyres get cleaned regularly? Is the inside edge showing cracks? Thanks AG Falco
  9. You want about 14V with the engine running not 13V. This might suggest the alternator is not working correctly. Thanks AG Falco
  10. Another poor run. 😉 Thanks AG Falco
  11. Yes. And you can feel it as well. Thanks AG Falco
  12. What happened to the car between 14 Oct 2011 when it was MOT'd at 116530 miles and 21 April 2020 when it failed its MOT at 116581 miles? 51 miles in 9 years and no MOT's. https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/?_ga=2.920312.87840739.1593033724-1994358082.1580159673 Thanks AG Falco
  13. If some of the face of the disks are rusty then this is because the pads are NOT pushing against them. Low mileage cars tend to get rusty disks more than regularly used cars. Thanks AG Falco
  14. It is not near the exhaust, it is in front of the O-S-F wheel behind the wheel arch liner. This area is outside the engine bay and will be colder. This is why you need to put in screenwash with antifreeze properties. This would be better posted in your original post only. Thanks AG Falco
  15. I also have the basic A/C system and with mine I have noticed:- The A/C will automatically turn itself on when you turn the fan on and:- You have the air pointing at the screen during the winter / cold weather. You have the air pointing at the footwells during the summer / hot weather. The A/C also works all the time but without the A/C button on / yellow warning light on it is only running at about 5-6 %. So yes it can feel colder than you would expect some times. Thanks AG Falco
  16. If you look at the photo of the fitted battery, too points come to mind. The battery looks too small for the hole, I would guess a 096 battery might also fit, at 278 mm long? There is only one connection on the negative terminal suggesting that there is no battery management system fitted. Thanks AG Falco
  17. Lack of maintenance, not just the sliders. I also make sure that the caliper pistons move freely. As above a wire brush to remove any rust from the disks and slider areas will also help. You will note from the photos that the rust creeps in from the outside edge and the middle on the disks. I buy my cars new and keep them for a long time. So I have more incentive to do this work. Second car at 115000 miles / 11 years has had front pads at 45000 and disks and pads at 90000. Thanks AG Falco
  18. If you want to make your brakes last try this:- Once a year in the autumn strip / clean and regrease all the brake parts. Also make sure you use the brakes to stop them seizing up. I occasionally apply the handbrake when moving to keep them fit and healthy. Present car, rear brakes at 45000 miles with no rust and 8mm left on the pads. Previous car, rear brakes at 13 years and 131000 miles on original disks, with no rust and one set of pads at 90000 miles. Thanks AG Falco
  19. What about at work? Thanks AG Falco
  20. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2rzsm1Qi6N1X-wuOg_p0Ng Todd from Project Farm. Had a lot of car battery problems come in to work recently. All down to lack of use. Charge the battery with a smart charger first is what we try. Thanks AG Falco
  21. Be wary if you MOT your car close to the required expiry date. If the 6 month extension has been applied the mot ( if you pass ) will only be valid for 365 days. Mine ran out on 3 June 2020 and I had the MOT done on 2 June 2020. I now have a car that has TWO current MOT's. One that expires on 2 Dec 2020, the six month extension. One that expires on 1 June 2021, 365 days from when the test was done. But it was not extended to 3 June 2021 as it would have done last year. 22. What type of battery was fitted. AGM, EFB? What type of battery has been fitted? Was the alternator checked for charging? Do the headlight work? Thanks AG Falco
  23. Correct. 👍 Thanks AG Falco
  24. The first / older version had a smaller phone holder. The later one in the photo has a hole length of 81 mm. I got mine from TPS, this is cheaper than SuperSkoda. Part number under it is ' 5E0.857.630.A This is what it look like in my Fabia. Thanks AG Falco
  25. Above any help. There are two types/sizes you can get. It fits in the cup holder. On the Fabia it sits the other way round. Thanks AG Falco
