Yes mib upgrade is the best option. Therefore you won't get wireless android auto or carplay, the units are not meant for it. They are dongles for wirelessly but won't recommend theme as they have speech recognition delay and don't quite understand what you say on Android auto. I can't pronounce for Apple carplay. Stick with the mib upgrade and wired connection. It works Great and charges your phone at the same time.

You will see the options but it won't do s...t the RAISE canbus has limited interaction with the car. Mainly streering wheel control, climate conbtrol, drive options, reverse camera and voila, don't expect anything else. If you can go with crappy phone calls and limited acces to the car settings, these units are in deed very good for the reste, no doubt. But if you want to retain all the functionalities, they are juste not ready yet. And for android auto on the stock unit, you may also need to change the usb socket. Yes stearing all the wheel function and others will work. You will have limited access to car settings but car status will not show, so tmps will not work. You can get a usb sensor and wheels caps to have tyre pressure. Also voice recognition is not working on the units for android auto. It will not understand what you are saying. It is the greatest drawbacks. Honestly if you really want Android auto, go with the 150 pounds or contact pab to see if he can fo something for you. It will be hastle free and you will retain all the car functions.

No car tyre pressure monitor will work with an Android head unit. If the unit can read the car status then it will show the low pressure alert. This said, My previous unit could not read the car status.

The USB port is the yellow plug for data and you must send 5v from the unit to the quadlock in order to power the port. As far as I know, only Alpin makes such an adapter. When I was on my Android devices, I had to build my own in order to have the USB port work. Splice and re-pin the USB power from the unit and pin it to the quadlock

yes. the black connector is the car DAB antenna, plug it to the fakra then the cable to the usb dongle. You will have DAB reception without having to stick the antenna on the window. It is cleaner and more efectiv this way

The unit in the glove box become useless ad you unplug the quad lock from the unit to plug it to the Android one. O. The other hand, if your car has Stock gps, you can use a fakra adaptor to hook the car gps antenna to the Android unit (works great). The same goes for the dab antenna, fakra to the USB stick format and you are good to go. Only the microphone can't be used as the car had a powered mic

Yes you should leave the ac on everytime your closet your Windows. Mine is always on Auto. It will dry the air in the car. The fuel consumption doesn't change a lot, for me it is insignificant. On the highway at 130 km/h I an between 7.1 and 7.8 l/100. Do that, change your filter every year and use an a cleaning kit and you will be good

yellow = usb blue = gps antenna black = dab antenna grey = screeen conenctor. As said, you will loose a lot of functionalities and retrofitting would surely have been cheaper.

i assumed there where 2 sizes as the seller has both on his site and asked to check. One thing odd thought, my car is the 2l vrs ordered 04/2014 ans delivered 08/2014 and I have the old handle. I am sure it was built after 05/2014 (but we are getting off topic) A question thought. My camera is 720p as I had an android device supporting ahd and 720p screen, the picture was superb. i then retrofitted a MIB2 amundsen with a 8 inch screen and analog video feed. The picture is so so . Does the unit struggle to go downscale the camera? will going to a 480p camera improve the picture quality? Thanks
