My dealers advice was to drive as you normally do from day one. I have done 1000km in mine but haven't stretched it's legs too much. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

Castlebar by any chance?Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk -
I recently changed from an MY14 1.6 tdi to an MY16 vrs tdi. On the old car, the park pilot disengaged as soon as I got out of reverse gear, but on the new one, there is a delay of 8 seconds or so before the park pilot screen disappears and the normal display screen resumes. The stereo remains muted until the park pilot screen disappears. Can any MY16 owners tell me if this is the norm? Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

Octavia build dates for new orders

Mine is bog standard. No options apart from sunset glass so maybe that is why it arrived quicker. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk -

Got a call from the dealer yesterday to say my one has arrived in early. Ordered on 27th of October. Went for sneak preview this morning and am glad I opted for the Metal Grey! Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk -
Bolero volume lowering itself automatically?!

I have noticed similar, but have assumed it is speed related. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk -
Nice one! In white, front and rear bumpers remind me of Star Wars stormtroopers! My wife bought a 2004 Mini R50 and I have to say I take it as often as I can. This might change when my vrs arrives in January. Ride is a bit harsh with 17 inch rims but it's a hoot to drive. Biggest issue is trying to track down why rear high level brake light isn't working and where drivers side footwell water ingress is coming from. Your JCW looks great BTW. Enjoy! Spontaneous unlocking

My old Mk1 vrs did this (all windows down) trick during very cold or very wet weather. Common issue on golf Mk4's too. Turned out to be moisture shorting the connector pins at the central convenience unit in the drivers door. Pins eventually corroded needing a new unit and loom. This happened when the car was only 3 years old. Could this be a similar issues surfacing on the Mk3? Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk -
My wife as a wedding florist and her SWB Transit broke down. We managed to fit the contents into the Octavia including 12 6ft candle stands, 4 artificial trees, assorted glass vases and a bunch of other lanterns. Amazing ability to swallow stuff in that boot! Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

I can confirm that on my Octavia Elegance (Jan 2014) the rain sensing wipers and auto dimming rvm were standard. Please note this is an Irish spec car so not sure if the same goes for UK spec. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

Looks like the same spec as the one I have ordered for January delivery!

Greetings from the West of Ireland also! I just ordered a metal grey rs tdi for January delivery.

Had mine scanned last Thursday and there were fault codes logged. I don't have the scan results but was told one relates to a speed sensor. The problem has been referred to the factory and my dealer is waiting a response.

My elegance TDI has this option tick able on the infotainment menu. I will see if it works when it's not so wet and windy outside!

I have advised the dealer who claims no knowledge of it as a known issue. CC is switched off until it is fixed.

No. So far once CC switch is set to off, nothing happens. Also to clarify, when the CC activates of it's own accord, the clock icon on the dashboard turns from white to green as if setting it by pressing the button on the end of tje indicator stalk, except with no driver input. Of the two problems with mine, the self cancelling I can live with. However, I cannot live with the risk of the car suddenly speeding up (as rapidly as the 1.6 can) while I am slowing down waiting to turn in my road.
-
Just to share my issues: 1.6 tdi elegance collected Jan 10th 2014. Have had the exclamation mark fault symbol on maxidot twice - cruise control does nothing. Stop and restart - all works normally. Recently I have had the CC activate itself without any input from me. It's like the resume feature self activates, but as I had not set a target speed it seems to want to keep accelerating to an unknown max. This has happened at least 6 times in the last week, usually accelerating from low revs, but worryingly once when decelerating to make a turn. Have to get it to the dealer this week to check for logged faults. A potentially dangerous problem.

We have been pleasantly surprised by the 1.6tdi's performance, having come from a Mk1 vRS. You do need to rev it a bit, but anything over 2k rpm gives enough grunt to overtake safely.

I feel your pain. Mine took a side swipe on both passenger doors.
