  1. is trying not to look at cars for sale on the interweb

  2. Greetings! How's the smelly exhaust behaving?

  3. I didn't bother to watch it as I was sure Jenson was going to win it.
  4. I have the Igo8 software courtesy of Nuriyan. It's 319MB so I it's a bit big to email. If you PM Nuriyan, he has an FTP site you can download from. Alternatively, if you send me an SD card I will load them on to it for you. When I received the unit, it had an older version of the Igo8 software on an SD card included.
  5. My Superpro are the same. I give them a spray of lithium grease every so often which sorts it temporarily.
  6. search for central convenience control fault. Sounds like the trouble I had with mine a year or two ago, which was water ingress to the control module in the drivers door and wiring connector pins.
  7. You may have already tried this, but if not, try taking the change in gradient at an angle. I have a similar problem going to work where I cross a dropper kerb on to a ramp. Crossing it perpendicularly ends in scraping, whereas coming at an angle (left wheel crosses first) means the lowest part of the bumper gets lifted enough to make it over without scraping. Same thing works for me over multi-storey car park ramps. My bumper looks okay but mainly because it is black. There are still plenty of scrapes.
  8. My HU is driving me, my pregnant wife, and my 3 year old daughter nuts. When the car is started from cold, the unit changes from whatever source it is on to IPOD (even though I don't own one), then back to radio, a couple of times until the car has done a few miles. After that it behaves fine. Also, the sat nav keeps trying to direct me to the last destination, even after I have exited the program? To those a bit more technically minded than I, does this sound like a software or a hardware issue? I am anxious to try the Mio Pocket software to see if this will help matters.
  9. Hopefully it's a fuse? Is the Led doing anything on the drivers door lock pin?
  10. Nope. I ripped the protective film off after installing the unit too. Screen doen't look dirty, but I will clean it and see if that makes a difference.
  11. One small issue I noticed this morning. I had the radio on when I started the car from cold. The unit kept switching to IPOD without my intervention for about two minutes until the car warmed up. I think the touch screen is very sensitive to moisture in the air, before the climate control takes effect. I dont even own an ipod!
  12. I tried the one for outdoor fabrics... it took 3 days before I could sit in the car without getting high, and it did nothing to repel stains.
  13. A couple of days ago: Fitted an Ebay DVD/Nav double din head unit!
  14. Just a quick post to thank Nuriyan for all his invaluable help in setting up the latest maps on the HU. Top man My TV aerial is due early this week, so I will see how I get on with that before installing MioPocket.
  15. Mine has the Igo8 nav software on the SD card, so I wont need that. Is there any tricks to loading the Mio Pocket?
  16. Thanks for the tip Nuriyan... excellent! Like Countryboy, I will need to adjust the cage to let the unit sit deeper in the dash, but I will wait til the TV aerial arrives.
  17. Just had a play with the HU, and a little disappointed that in sat nav mode, you can not listen to radio/ cd at the same time. Despite this, I am very happy with the unit. Excellent find Nuriyan! Might try loading some software tomorrow, all tips/ instructions welcome.
  18. Another vote for the centre mount - fixed mine with two large jubilee clips. 50k miles later, and all is still good.
  19. Head Unit installed - phew! Will have to wire in TV aerial when it arrives next week. I haven't had a chance to load any of Nuriyans software yet, but will hopefully get around to it at the weekend. I'm off to bed now......Zzzzz
  20. Did you not need to trim back any plastic behind the head unit? There is a nice cross shaped piece of plastic with a circle in the centre (which used to hold the cubby pocket) that looks like it needs to come out or be trimmed back.
  21. Mine arrived yesterday (I got hit with import duty also €55ish). I decided I would have a go at fitting it on a very wet & windy night last night, and found out that I will need to do some trimming of plastic behind the dash to get it to fit. So part two of the install begins tonight. The Ebay seller sent an e-mail saying that their account had been "blocked for about 2 or 3 days due to 3 unpaid items as a buyer. It will be released soon". I'm glad the unit arrived at all!
  22. From the above attachment: 1. Press Fan Down, Temperature Colder, ECON at the same time. 2. Use the temperature control buttons to cycle through the various channels to Channel 16. 3. Press ECON to go back to normal. (It goes back automatically when you restart the car.) Channels: 1 Interior temperature (sensor) 3 Sunlight sensor 7 Coolant temperature sensor 9 Blower speed (adjustable) 10 Measured blower speed (sensor) 11 Defog valve (adj. 0-255) 12 Dashboard ventilation valve (adj. 0-255) 13 Recirculation valve (adj. 0-255) 14 Lower ventilation valve (adj. 0-255) 16 Speed (sensor)
  23. As yesterday was my birthday, I have treated myself and bought one of the ebay ones like Nuriyan. Am interested in getting a rear monitor for my daughter. Does anyone know of anywhere I can get one cheap?
