That’s a shame, would be great if it was a simple fix. Your suggestion about privacy seems right, weird that @alancha is getting it on the reversing camera screen though. I get the ‘welcome username’ screen which disappears after a couple of seconds but that’s it.

I haven’t had the data sharing message in months, my s-pin is saved so doesn’t require entering. Referencing the above post, I never turn the head unit off, I just take the key out. It turns on itself when the car unlocks - Could be worth a try?..

I’d report the call to 999 to Skoda, if anything is going to give them a kick up the arse it’s peoples cars calling the emergency services and wasting their time. If the call couldn’t be cancelled the time wasting is Skoda’s fault

Thank you but unfortunately I need the SE Tech version; the finance company are being a pain regarding rejection (due to missing options and standard spec) and so it would be really helpful to have the specification in black and white from before I ordered (which I have) and afterwards to show that the specification had not changed. Incidently I have a download of the SE Tech brochure from September 2020 if anyone ever needs it.

Thanks, there is a separate brochure for the SE Tech for some reason. I had a copy but now can’t find it, I can only find the other one for all the other models

Thanks both. I ordered the winter pack but the heated screen didn’t work. The Skoda garage said the heated windscreen hasn’t been fitted. I have the virtual button for it, and options to set it to come on automatically, neither of which gives errors when activated. I’ve been back and forth with Skoda customer service and the garage about getting it retro-fitted. I do seem to have the bronze hue on the windscreen in certain light so just looking for a way to tell for sure if it’s missing or not working

It seemed like there could be a pattern between people with data/connection issues and these issues. Where the error is reproducible it could be down to a data black spot maybe? - It’s so difficult to tally these issues. On the bottom row of the infotainment screen there is an ‘info’ section, as I understand it the globe in that section is the data connection. White being connected, grey being disconnected. I don’t have ACC or matrix headlights so I can’t help with that point I’m afraid.

Interesting thread - Have you noticed whether you have an internet connection at the time that the driving side changes? This seems to be another common theme; could it be taking the location from the e-sim GPS, and when there is no signal defaulting to mainland European settings?

Can you actually see wires in the windscreen or just the bronze hue as in the pictures above? Thanks

I’ve got a 1.0 etec DSG and find it drives very well. Pulls well, copes with motorway, and loaded boot very well too. I’m getting 55-60 mpg on longer runs without trying. All in all very relaxing to drive, especially given how big it is compared to my previous Arona. my two previous cars were a 1.2 Fabia estate, and a 1.0 Arona (both DSG) so similar size and power output. If you’re coming from a diesel you may feel the lack of torque. I would have opted for the 1.5 petrol but back when I ordered the 1.0 etec was the only petrol DSG available and I’m glad I went with it now, it suits my driving which is 8 mile commutes plus occasional longer drives very well. It’s well worth test driving one.

That’s not correct, I’ve got no rear wiper and can wash the camera via the infotainment screen.

Hiya, I’ve got the 1.0 e-tec, I think it drives very well, even at motorway speeds. Previous car was a 1.0 Arona and it drives very similar despite being considerably larger. Fuel economy has been great 55-60mpg on motorway trips even with some stop start congestion. I know it’s not necessarily the answer you want but you really would need to test it out; if you’re coming from a diesel, or a 1.5 petrol it may feel sluggish to you despite me being entirely happy with it.

My 1.0 e-Tec has been largely fine, two reboots of the entertainment system so far and that’s it - The screen went blank for 2 seconds and then came straight back on. Seems I’ve been lucky compared to others though.

Obviously these systems were designed for ideal conditions and no potholes. I keep trying to avoid potholes at the road edge and it keeps trying to pull me back into them! - It likes to try to pull me into a local bus lane too 🙄

Thanks, has your rejection been completed? Was it an Octavia or a previous car? I've been asked for supporting information by the finance company so hopefully it’s progressing. My rejection is a bit different as it’s not related to faults but missing/non-fitted paid for optional equipment which apparently cannot be retrofitted.

So I’ve had the opposite, it went into the garage for the LEDs and the heated screen to be fitted. The garage had it all day only to report that both parts were the same as fitted so they didn’t fit them. Skoda customer services are still telling me that both can be fitted. Absolute joke.

Thank you; that’s how I thought it worked, the paperwork does say the vehicle is the property of the finance company until the final payment is made. The finance company said that Skoda are allowed an attempt to repair which they have had (in my case it was to fit paid for options that weren’t fitted at build). They kept the car for the day and then said they had the wrong parts! My position now is that Skoda have admitted it’s a mis-build, and have had an attempt to sort it and failed. Therefore I have asked the finance company to take care of the rejection. I’d like to get Skodas acceptance of a mis-build in writing.. Thanks

My 1.0 e-tech doesn’t have an engine cover either

Has anyone rejected a car that was bought through a third party (non-VW finance) finance company? If so did you reject through the dealer or finance company please?

Mine does that, it’s not a VRS though. I had the same on a previous Arona and Fabia so I think the VAG seat adjusters are just really weak, and slowly undo under the drivers weight

I ordered mine last year and that was the case then. No folding mirrors either, and annoyingly no option to add them 👎 The SE Tech was the only option for a petrol auto at the time or I would have gone with an SEL for these extras

I’ve got an SE Tech but it didn’t come with keyless entry, only keyless start. There are still the ‘buttons’ for keyless opening on the door handle whether you have keyless entry or not.

That’s where mine is too, mine is a hatch, with no rear wiper.
