  1. I see, I thought the cars hotspot needed to output 5ghz I’m afraid I can’t help with that, the router doesn’t output separate channels, and the car is out of Wi-fi range as well.
  2. I’ve just had my SOS unit replaced and I’m now on hardware version F and software 1806. I can confirm that on Apple CarPlay I now have turn by turn navigation directions on the speedo screen which I didn’t have previously.
  3. Morning, so I’ve just been fiddling with the system and I can’t see anywhere that says whether it’s 5ghz Wi-fi. On iPhone that information isn’t in the hotspot menu, and it doesn’t seem to be started on the stereos hotspot or Wi-fi settings, am I missing it somewhere? I can confirm that on Apple CarPlay I now have turn by turn navigation directions on the speedo screen which I didn’t have previously 👍
  4. I guess it’s entirely possible that the e-sim is within the SOS unit, and may also contain the Wi-fi unit for wireless connection I’m on iPhone and that has always worked wireless for me
  5. Hiya, so I was told it was an SOS unit replacement, oddly they needed both keys so they could recode them, which would seem to indicate more than just the SOS unit to me (happy to be corrected) but it is listed on the service paperwork as SOS unit replacement after: Before:
  6. Sure thing. The update reset all settings so I’ll take a look when getting everything back to normal tomorrow .
  7. No, I don’t have an android phone
  8. My car was in for an SOS unit replacement today. I’ve been lucky and this is the only recurring issue I’ve had (1.0 e-tec se-tec). The garage informed they had carried out a software update and I’m now on 1806 from 1688, oddly the hardware has gone from B to F as well ive not had time to try much out but the radio logos are more snazzy. There’s also a hint to the pop out window on that screen too. Some text is smaller and sharper
  9. I think D is set up largely to maximise fuel efficiency over performance so if you need a burst of acceleration manually shifting with the paddles, or moving into sport is best. I haven’t really noticed this in my 1.0 e-tech but previously had a 1.0 Arona and it performed similarly, for overtaking or passing a cyclist I would switch into sport, it becomes second nature after a while.
  10. Thanks - unfortunately, as you say, it doesn’t, it just says ‘route guidance unavailable’ - Maybe if I ever get to 1803…
  11. Unfortunately it doesn’t work for me either. I’m on 1668 as well using an iPhone 12 - If I select either of the ‘CarPlay’ options inside the Speedo I get the music track name rather than directions
  12. Great tip, I’ll have to try that for Apple Maps navigation
  13. Not sure if I’m reading correctly but I have a basic Nextbase and it has a usb on the camera and one on the base mount; the manual says the usb on the camera is only for usb transfer and to use the usb on the base for normal usage.
  14. It’s not on my SE Tech either (1.0 e-tec) built October 2020
  15. When I ordered mine last year sport suspension wasn’t even an option (on the SE-Tech). If you want an exact comparison get on the phone to dealers and find two for comparison.
  16. In the UK the rear wiper is a free option but must be specified at order. I didn’t realise this (ordered through third party) but haven’t really missed it to be honest. The rain and condensation runs off the window as soon as you start driving anyway
  17. This may well come up for other users. If you’re able to write a guide I’m sure it would help a lot of members going forward. Thanks 👍
  18. Mine was in the garage last week with SOS errors, they’ve ordered a new SOS unit. Can they give detail of why they think the phone is related? It’s not much of a safety feature if a mobile phone can cause it to fail, sounds like BS to me, and even if it were true it would be an issue for them to resolve not the users issue. If you want to indulge them take the car out without the phone (or turned off) and see if the error occurs.
  19. I haven’t driven since picking it up so the only thing I’ve noticed so far is that the reverse camera now stays on for a few seconds after moving the gearbox back into D. It’s quite helpful when getting into a tight space and you need to go forward a bit, as you can line the car up to the space using the camera view before reversing again (hope that makes sense!). I’ve got a 1.0 e-tech, I’m not sure if some campaigns will be specific to the engine as well as trim level..
  20. Mine went in to the dealers earlier this week for software updates. I’m on headunit B and was only updated to 1668 as Ultrarunner says. The invoice lists the campaign’s: 49P9 69BN 97EQ but I can’t find anything on the web about what they relate to. I have a SOS control unit on order to solve the issues with the speaker popping and ‘SOS function unavailable’ errors
  21. You can hold down the power button on the head unit to reboot it, otherwise take it to the dealer. A few people on here have had new head units under warranty
  22. I believe this is correct, I’ve got the 1.0 etec and there is a big lump under the driver seat (In the UK) which is the battery. The etec version of the mat must be shorter to accommodate the battery, and stop it from slipping/sliding due to the battery cover being very smooth and not getting the grip you would on the carpet.
  23. Skoda should just have that on a banner above the entrance 🤬
