To all those worried about brake balance, all this does is give you the 245 brake setup also used on the Leon Cupra and Golf GTI PP so there is no issue there. It neutralises the balance so the front heavy 340’s don’t feel so front heavy but the whole system is stronger than the 312/272 system which is more neutral out of the box. There is a difference, small, but I can feel it. Only the last length where the join at the rear is. You also need to re route the handbrake cable else it droops under the car.

After CP is removed, features reactivated and CAN Filters installed it’ll be ok and it’ll be ok with the amp. A lot of money though for one button, you can still get SmartLink through the Menu.

Easy job, need Audi S3 8P/TT 3.2 8J/Golf R32 Calipers, carriers, lines, discs and pads and Golf 7 PP back plates and it’s all bolt on from there. Done it on mine.

Need to be a MIB2 unit for this to work, APP button will only work on MY17 onward Amundsen on 03xx firmware.

Haha that’s not true, I’m not doing anything that is unique on MQB, just most people are doing it on the Golf or not in the UK. You need the BCM to run them, I mean technically yes they can if you make some controller of your own to do it but if you want it done OEM you need a replacement BCM.

Excuse the fault light, the rear xenon level sensor is snapped so that needs sorting and the fault clearing, also need to redo all the front light channels as half the lights don’t work but BCM swap is complete and we have ambient lighting with 30 colours and key personalisation. Got the door cards with light strips ready (the fourth one is being delivered tomorrow), just waiting on wiring supplies to get these done. Also got RGB footwell lighting on order as this is a 084CG BCM with support for that.

ACC is not a fun job, you will need a new ABS pump, new rear ABS sensors, stalks, crash bar, radar and wiring and then ODIS-E for CP removal. Not worth the pain. You can just replace the trim but you will have to cut it and re glue. If you want some vRS carbon trim, drop me a PM, have the set for the doors in nice condition 😊

You can get these in RHD, I have one, just not fitted yet so I will have 7, all of the above except Self Park.

He’ll do what he can I’m sure, it’s sometimes possible to get some information from a dead MIB, or failing that from the cars PR codes.

With like for like there is coding but the dealer can do it, scan your current MIB with ODIS and paste it all to the replacement as it’s like for like. With a different radio there are different FeC’s so they won’t match up which is why an upgraded setup needs an expert touch. Drive mode and lights etc is all done form other modules, it’s just VCDS level coding to get the menu boxes correct in the settings. The process for coding Amundsen’s has changed since I had mine done so Pawel will advise, I know of a PFL Columbus 8 inch screen going for £190 with postage on top which is a great price, but 6.5 inch screens are available for less than half that. SmartLink for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is a very worthwhile extra. Pawel is brilliant, you supply a radio and a scan of your current one (or both radios) and he’ll send you a MIB2 coded to match. If the MIB is dead and can’t be scanned then there are different ways and means to sort things out.

Early MIB’s can do this. If you want to swap like for like then that’s straightforward with a used unit off eBay (sub £100) and CP removal from a third party or a dealer willing to play ball. If you want to change the radio, now is the time! 8 inch screen, 9.2 inch screen, SmartLink for Android Auto/CarPlay, factory navigation, all these things could be done if you wanted to do it. I’ve had 3 radios and 5 screens in my car and I really rate the 5Q0035874A and B Amundsen with an 8 inch screen, either 5E0919606 PFL Columbus or 5E0919605M FL Amundsen (APP button only works with B and C revision radios). Set yourself a budget and a feature set you would like, from about £600-1000 and that will dictate what radio you go for. The man to speak to is pab567 on this forum, I always use him for radio work.

I suspect the FeC’s haven’t been done on this radio, only CP. You will need someone who knows these radios to activate all the features via FeC and a donor chassis number. Please check down this list of features and test that they work. If you have a car with multi function wheel then yes the paddle shift wheel can be added plug and play, no coding required. Either get a whole wheel or use the buttons and paddle from a DSG wheel.

Have you sorted the dataset on the 3Q0 yet? I’ve got mine done now, just needed the dataset flashing onto it with ODIS.

It’s on the list, have a big TPS haul to do after I’ve finished the BCM install thats been giving me grief and has involved not one, not two, but three BCM’s!!! Update in my build thread coming soon.

Does the nav work? Has the FeC been enabled for navigation during the retrofit?

Get the adapter piece with it, saves you pinning the RCA yourself. Highline cameras have guidelines as I’ll link below but there isn’t a plug and play solution for the smaller handle to go highline, only by buying both cameras and making a good handle.
