  1. Hi Guys, I am driving my third Octavia (In my signature) now and one thing always makes me wonder is 12V socket. It has always power even though car is switched off, I am sure everybody knows about it, which is very unusual. Anyway, my question is something about Dash Cam. Is it alright if i leave dash cam connected in that socket or I should turn the camera off. I am not worried about battery being drained out, rather I am worried dash cam can get faulty for constant recording round the clock. Recently I bought a Nextbase Duo dash cam from halford and its behaing weird. Camera was refurb just to let you guys know. Previously I had another Dash Cam (azdome) bought from ebay. the one lasted 10months. in summer time i even couldn't touch the camera as it used to get super hot. Now I am trying to return the Nextbase duo to halfords and still looking for another good one. Could somebody advise me what is the best way to use the dash cam. I was thinking to have the parking mode effective I should have the camera connected to the power all the time. also if anybody can recommend any good dual camera dash cam based on your experience please. thank you.
  2. I had few of this octavia (one after another) but never encountered this problem before. This is the first time, but now I know its a common issue.
  3. Hi guys, just to update the post. I have sorted the problem out. I replaced the boot release button with another one. Now it works fine.
  4. Hi, My boot is not opening. I am thinking to replace the boot lid opening fuse..but surprisingly i couldn't find any No 50 fuse in the dash..can anyone tell me what would be the boot fuse for my Octavia 2017?
  5. Mine is OBD11 pro. Well, probably coding will be the only option to do it instead of adaptation.
  6. Doesn't work. It says "(31) Function not available." i did reset infoteinment system by press holding the menu button for 8 secs..but nothing helps.
  7. I will give it a go right away now.. then will try with adaptation as i dont have any credit in obd11 anymore.
  8. My card doesn't accept this modification. don't know why?
  9. Really!!! How did you do it? When I was doing it using OBD11's app, it wasn't successful. I tried to do it other way as well and it didn't accept the changing. i red the article related failure any adaptation and it said, some coding car doesn't accept and some coding car asks for the security code. So I thought, my specific car wouldn't accept the change. Did anybody do this change in their car same as my car ?
  10. Thanks everyone for the replies and help but i figured out that there is no way of doing automatic time changing in this car ..the coding or from the app of OBD11 will just give me Summer (DST) option which i already have in the car. I dont think anybody else has this automatic time changing enabled in their car..neither the DAY display .
  11. I haven't got enough credit to try this..May be tomorrow. I tried through adaptation and found the option in 5F but it doesn't allow me to do this adaptation. don't know why?
  12. I know that, but every year these Twice cause me lots of serious problem and I never remember to change the time in the car. Better if I can enable automatic option, then why not!
  13. Hi Wanderer, Could you tell me how did you do it via OBD11? Thank you.
  14. Couldn't find any. Just followed the link that PetrolDave posted on his/her reply but that is for Columbus sytem. Detail instructions weren't there even.
  15. Does anyone know the coding? Its really annoying if it doesn't update automatically.
  16. Even though Clock time Source is selected GPS but time doesn't auto change..am i missing something in the setting?
  17. Thanks to everyone for the replies. Does anyone know if there is any speed limit where this front assist will not automatically activated? My biggest concern is in motorway where speed limit starts from 50mph. If it comes on automatically with false alarm the impact will be dangerous.
  18. It was really dreadful. I was driving down the City road toward Old street roundabout yesterday and all of a sudden there was big jolt as my stupid car detected some invisible obstacle. This is not the first time it happened. Everytime it was false alarm. Luckily I knew what was it all about and there was no car behind me. I am panicking, if it lead me to a serious incident!!!! I drove the car rest of the time with this feature turned off from the infotainment system..but there was an annoying tringle mark on the maxidot. I am wondering if it happens in the motorway or in a busy road, it will be a disaster catastrophe. Thinking whether i should look for an option to permanently disable it (if there is any ) or i should get this sensor checked up. Please advise me.
  19. Thanks for the replies. Just wondering, is it a good idea to use engine flush while changing the engine oil?
  20. I forgot to mention that i drive for uber..so every 6months i have to kind of do the oil changing service.. I want really best oil for my car. So, which oil shall I go to?
  21. to admin, I couldn't find my previous similar thread. hence I am opening a new post. if you want you can link it up with my previous similar thread. Thank you. Hi Guys, My car is due for another oil change. Car is 1.4TSI with 150bsp 67plate. Milease is 51k on the clock. Last time I used 5w-30. This morning I called couple of Skoda dealer near me and both of them suggested me different oils. One is 0w-20 and other one is 5w-30 after checking the reg. I remember 6 months ago there was another engine oil suggested to me by another dealer. None of the suggestions are matching to each other. So I am wondering which one is the best engine oil for my car. I am tending to go 0W-20 as i did use 5w-30 and it seemed fuel consumption went down a bit witht hat engine oil.
  22. Hi guys, Just got scratch on the left side of my rear bumper, not deep...just git rubbed with the wooden fence in a little alleway while reversing. Can anyone suggest me anything that really works like magic and without any hassle. I have used T-cut and some other from the local shop previously. They were just waste of money. So please guys help me out.
  23. Thats the original tyre in front of the tyre shop in the corner of my house which i fitted in my car. As I was walking by, it cought my eyes and thought to share with you guys as somebody else was asking about the sticker. Its pretty bad, consumption grade is "E".
