there are many to be found but how well is yours? are they still working good without any fault code thrown to the dash? Did you also change the front fog light to LED? did you change it by yourself? I wish I could change them to LED too.

Did anyone here upgrade their rear indicator light bulb to LED? Can anyone suggest me any LED 1.4tsi 67plate. I don't know why SKODA didn't upgrade their rear indicator light bulb when they made change front and rear to LED.

My full servicing is done from the local garage. There is only possiblity to visit Norton Skoda to have my brake fluid change. During brakefluid change they do car's underneath health report which includes brakes,shocks etc. To be honest shock absorber is not that expensive. I could get couple of them within £100 or so..but the garage who did servicing they gave me a quote of £120 to replace them. I am not prepared to spend another £250 right now specially when I lost my job last week.

Could someone give me step by step guideline about resetting the milage for oil inspection and oil change via obd11? I can manually reset it from the button under the dash, but I can not change the default milage. So wondering if I can do it via OBD11.

What is TSB? While I had my servicing from the local garage today, I asked the guy to check if I need new pairs of Shock absorbers. He quickly checked and said that, there was veey slight leak but still loads of oil left in there..so not to worry for changing within next 6months. But I like to keep my car in optimal condition. So don't know whether i should consider changing or its normal for all Octavia to have slight leaks.

The car is on 41605miles. Last night I inspected the plate if there was any oil stored from the dripping or misting..but couldn't find anything other than dirt..i will drive a bit today to test.

I checked the shock absorver awhile ago and didnt see any trace of oil at all. were they oil or water, I am confused now. do they leak only when you drive the car?

Hi, Sorry to bring this thread alive. my query perfectly fits here. thats why instead of opening a new thread I am bringing this thread live. When i had my MOT 4/5 months ago, guy said, my shock absorvers were misting. i didn't bother to look the shock absorver myself at that time. recently i did hit the curves very badly which caused two left tyres busted including dent on the front nearside alloy. anyways, my tyres were almost hitting the mimimum required tread depth. so, i changed all four of them. Main point is, today as i got my front discs and pads changed i saw the shock absorvers and they looked like they have got leaks. please see the pictures. could someone advice me if these look normal to you or you think they are busted.

I was absolutely wrong. The gear shifts to D7. May be I didnt pay attention before. Front brake discs and pads are changed today. Saw some oil leaking in the front dampers. is it common for this car? or i need to look for new sets of damper as well?

wow. it makes sense now. but i have never seen 7 on the dash. in what speed normally gear shifts from 6 to 7! lets come to the point now guys, do i have to have engine oil changed or i dont as main dealer said without inspecting the car?

I am confused now. the car didnt come with spare tyre, just with repair kit. I drove it 15k miles but never seen gear 7 as far as i can remember. Can I not check it with VRN or any other Code?

Yes. mine is 1.4TSI and I believe this is 6speed as i have never seen7th gear on the dash. Does it mean that I have to have gear oil changed? is there anyway to confirm whether i need to have gear oil changed or not. Main dealer said, I don't but they didnt check the car though. it was by the registration number.

this is my first auto car. i used to know that gear fluid required changing. but believe me, i spoke to dealers and i forgot who else but all of them said this car doesnt require gear fluid changing. Can somebody else give us your thought or experience please. i always change air filter every year. and pollen every two years. i will do brake fluid changing from Skoda dealer. though kwik fit said not necessary.

it seems i opened an account up there before. i have retrieved my password and logged in. will it be worth paying £7? shall i be able to get maintenance schedule from there. I went to Skoda delaer to buy engine oil, filter, plug and washer. total £54. I asked them about Gear oil, Spark plugs, timing belt maintenance schedule. the guy asked his colleague and confirmed me that my car doesn't require gear oil changing 40k is Spark plugs and 5years regardless miles is timing belt change.

Where can I download all the service/maintenance information from? I have owners manual but it seems its generic and I dont have service book either. I need to know when I am due to change spark plugs, gear oil etc..

So, I think I'll go yearly one from now onward (10k or per year). So which engine oil should I buy? 5W30 or 0W20? or something else?

Well, brake disk and pads are sorted. Now about service. this is another kind of confussion. car manual says 2years or 20k and as i spoke to the Norton Skoda dealer they said 12k or 1 year. the car was serviced on 26.5k when i bought and they did full servicing (Nov 2019) infoteinment system says another 3k and more than 3months to go to do servicing. So, what should I do? Norton skoda gave me oil grade 0W20 and price £76 where as transcity gave me 5W30 for 30.84. Can somebody shade some light about Servicing and correct engine oil grade?

No one is talking about Brake fluid changing which I requested for advice. Thanks Westbury63. I got a good deal with carparts4less. I am gonna order before 4pm today to get them delivered tomorrow. I think I am not gonna change the rear pads and disks as they will last another 7 to 8months. I am tempting to change the pads only for rear though but wondering disk and pads changing together will be good idea to avoid the squwaking noise. I do part time PCO though havent been doing much since i bought this car 2019 November. I bought it 26.5k.

I will give Pagid a try for the pads i think but in ECP they have another model of Disk and they said that is premium quality..price is not hugely difference. So wondering whether Pagid would be good to go or the other one ATI..I think it was? Whatabout the sizes?

Hi, Mine is 67plate skoda octavia hatch back (facelift) 1.4TSI and it is in 41k now. This is the first time I am going to change the disks and pads. In the front both are gone and the rear only pads..but i have decided to give it a treat by changing all over including brake fluid. recently i changed the whole 4 tyres. I need advice regarding brakefluid whether it is really necessary to change or not. I know skoda says to change the fluid after 3years for the first time but once i went to kwik fit and they said it is unnecessary to change if brakefluid condition is ok), Well, as i was browsing ECP it seems they have lots of different sizes of everything. Can someone point me out which one is right for my car (DISKS and PADS)? And also which brand is worth to go? thanks. N.B: Do we have PR Code in our car, if yes then where can we find it?
