Yea, this is the symptom of microswitch. I bought mine as second hand for £50 (quite new though from extremely low mileage car) and replaced it myself.

I wish if i could have informed to the police, but it is more than 24hrs now. Would police let my insurance company know about it as well? Informing this incident to insurance company would increase my premium, i experienced it before.

I used AirCon cleaner and all the other odour eliminator, but nothing stopping this annoying dirty smell. Is their any other way that I can manually clean the dirts or so?

I was stopping in red traffic light. One Audi Sub from the other side of the road turn into main road and fail to stop behind me. he hit me. we got out of the car. no major damage happened other than light scratch. I had mobile in my hand to take photo. guy advised me to pull over on the side road as we were blocking the traffic. then he quckly u-turned and vanished. I checked my dash cam which has cabincamera as well. number plate is not very clear..but some expert may reveal it. what should i do? I saw on the footage that scambag was looking around for cctv camera before he jumped into his car and vanished.

Hi PetrolDave, I am not a big fan of halfords as well. It would be the last shop for me to go to. In this case, for battery I think physical shop is batter than online shop. Moreover I got them replace, recycle and coding for £148 with 5years warranty. aIn case nything goes wrong i can go back to them.

£125.99 and 4 years warranty. I paid £146 and it has got 5 years warranty. In case of any problem I can take it to halfords. I think halfords is the better of.

Good morning Warrior193. Came to halfords and they tested the battery. Replacement was the advice came up after diagnostic. Now buying the batttery and got £10 off by joining to their club. They will do coding which is basically to let the car know that it has got new battery.

I am planning to change my car battery. Is it straight swap or I need VCDS diagnostic to change the setting for battery. I am planning to go for Halfords AGM027 Start Stop Car (5 Year Guarantee) for £150. Any other recommendation? N.B: My car is 4.5 years old and it requires battery changing..I mean at least symptoms says battery needs changing. Is their anyway i can check and confirm the condition of battery? Thanks

Thats what i bought from ecp i guess. but from the day1 it was not wipping good. i thought slowly the blades will be adjusted but nothing happened.

I bought a pair of wipers for my skoda octavia 2017 from ECP a year ago. they do not clean the windscreen properly. always leave marks on the glass. I applied all the lifehack that i saw in youtube but nothing helped me. Is there any good brand that i can go for, any recommendation please.

There was no gadget other than mobile charger in the car. Obviously as i was taking the matter seriously, I made it sure nothing was drawing the power. Well, I am pretty convinced that my battery is not strong enough for the stop-start system. But I am enjoing driving the car now, it feels more responsive and faster now.. N.B: no more fault code regarding cylinder Misfire.

It's been quite awhile now I am driving the car with Stop-start not working. I scan the car everyday but no fault at all. Stop-start doesn't work due to power consumption is too high. I tried with A/C, mobile charger etc off, but no difference. May be battery is not strong enough. Went to halfords, got the battery tested and it came witht the result as GOOD. So why all of suddent the car is drawing too much power which is causing the stop-start not working. NO fault code whatsoever. Any idea guys? N.B: forgot to mention that I used redex and also premium fuel from BP. I used to use Asda fuel all the time.

Its bit out of topic. Does anyone know how to check battery level in my specific car? I tried pressing the button with engine off ignition on, with engine running and also with nothing running. It weird that battery icon doesn't appear.

Gerrycan, I used Redex previously in different car. I followed the instruction on the bottle last every time I used..but it didn't work or i didn't feel any difference at all. That's why I am saying I am gonna use two bottles at one go hopping that it will work this time

I like your idea. tomorrow I'll buy couple of bottles of Redex to clean the petrol system. I'll use them all in one go. I drove 4.5hrs today and scanned the car, couldn't detect that culprit cyl 3 misfire fault though power consumption was high which didn't allow the car to stop while waiting in the red signals. N.B: Skoda octavia was my fav car. if it behaves and pull up mysterious fault then I've to think of replacing this car and never go to skoda anymore. but fingers crossed that this is random fault and it will be solved by itself.

Is there anything else I can do by myself? neither i have tool nor i am competent to do compresson test. garage will charge me £80 just to do compresson test, I already paid £70 just to run the diagnose the problem where they said coils and plugs need replacing.

Hi Guys, i have a 1.4tsi hatchback 2017 150psi Skoda Octavia SE L. Recently I am having some problems with the start/stop function of the car. Car starts working normal but after few hours I can see that Start/stop doesn't work. when i press the start/stop button to check it says start/stop error. I ran the diagnostic by OBD11 and it pulls up some errors which shows that Cyld3 misfire. I had the Ignition coil packs (Starline) and spark plugs (Bosch) replaced thinking that it could be because of faulty any of them. but nothing helps to cure the problem. Does anybody has any idea or similar symptom in their car? Please note that, I don't have any power loss in the car while accelerating.

Guys, sorry to say problem has come back. No power loss or nothing..just stop/start stoped working and after scanning i found the same code with same cylinder misfire. Does it mean that my original coils were not faulty? So what else i can do now? Where is OP gone?

Hi, I have been scanning almost every day but no problem were detected at all. It seems ignition coils were faulty in my case. N.B: I'll keep scanning and in case problem reoccur, I'll update the post here.

I have had my Ignition coils and spark plugs changed. drove the car for 4 hours afterwards and diagnosed with OBD11, but no problem in any of the cylinders were detected (as of yet). fingers crossed for the upcoming days. My original coils and spark plugs didn't look bad though. if they were faulty would they not be broken or damaged physically, just wondering?

Break didn't feel hard at all. I pressed quite a few times and it was always normal. My spark plugs were changed in 41,600miles (11months ago) for the first time since the first registration of the car . Now the car has 60600miles on the clock. Coil plugs were never been changed.
