  1. Just had 2015 Tsi 150 done, 5 years was the stipulated interval. I looked at the old belt and it looked like it had a LOT more life in.
  2. I've ordered one from Skoda, non camera €150. Quite a premium over that eBay one!
  3. ABS with no surround, prefer the cleaner look and don't like people advertising on my car. :-)
  4. Do you mean 3v3, 2 litre diesel?
  5. I purchased an LED footwell pack from Amazon, cheap as chips and easy to install. Far from OEM but has a nice effect at night.
  6. Erratic issue with the boot handle not opening the hatch (manual opening hatchback). Pressing the boot release on the key fob will activate the opening and then you can open it via the handle. Anyone had this problem? Car is being serviced tomorrow so would like to flag the issue.
  7. 2015 with 50k miles, getting an occasional judder when pulling away in first. Clutch is not slipping. Petrol 1.4 150. Had many petrol manuals over the years (older and with higher mileage) and this would be a first, and no I don't drive hard or ride the clutch. :--) Has anyone had a clutch replacement on the manual, and if so at what age and how much did it cost?
  8. Anyone know if these are easy to replace? Front vents, not rear. Peeling chrome on one.
  9. As above, take the deal. You could go legal claiming a 3 year old failure like that suggests not fit for purpose, but even if you are successful it could cost you a good deal more than £750 to resolve.
  10. Please update us, can you request the official bulletin code from Skoda?
  11. Update: The bushings packed with lithium grease worked (for now). Car suspension is wonderfully creak free, like a new car again. Delighted with that.
  12. Might have to root through the bin to find out! It was down as 3 hours.
  13. My car is now 5 years old, and while it has low mileage it was time to get the belt done. Unlike diesels they don't change the waterpump at the same time, as that resides on the other side of the engine, and is actually quite a complex and expensive unit so is only replaced if leaking. The upside is that it is a bit cheaper than a diesel, €500 from Skoda. The kits includes the belt and 2 pulleys and bolts, and was itemised as €300 on the bill. I asked for the used parts afterward and found that the belt looked like new, and both pulley bearings were butter smooth and play free. I'd say there was a LOT more life in them, but I'm holding onto the car for a while so was happy to get it done for peace of mind. The car also had an oil, pollen and air filter service, and they also removed the wishbone bushings and packed them with lithium grease to hopefully cure the dreaded suspension creak. They seemed well up to speed on the creak and did not charge for this. Free wipers also under special offer, €200 for the above was very fair. Happy customer.
  14. Not a big fan of smoked rear lamps, they look like they are tainted by diesel soot, like a 10 year old car!
  15. 100% a PDR repair, they will go in via the licence place light apertures, £100 should easily cover it.
  16. Good tip, I've had Nightbreakers before and they only lasted a year.
  17. Thanks Sherlock, that did it. As ever one side went as planned in no time, the other bulb refused to mount, despite doing exactly the same thing. 20 mins of cursing and questioning my sanity then it just popped in. Go figure.
  18. Going to install some Osram laser lights, first time changing these bulbs. Any particular technique to this, is it a straight pull or a rotate (if so clockwise or anticlockwise) and pull? Standard H7 bulbs. Thanks.
  19. Good job, a nice upgrade. Did you fit it yourself and how did you route the wiring from through the rear hatch?
  20. Does anyone know how this plastic trim comes off? Tried lifting but feels like something is going to break. Thanks! Picture for reference only.
  21. Interesting reading. Must say I have no complaints about the ride comfort on my 1.4 TSI hatch, SE on 17 inch wheels. The compliant suspension setup suits me unlike the constant jittering that I endured in my previous F10 5 series on 18's with RFTs. Big wheels invariably ruin the ride, and it seems like the Superb is more susceptible than most in this regard.
  22. My youngest loves it, especially the music mode!
  23. Bought and installed an ambient lighting pack from Amazon, too cheap to resist! Took about an hour to install, used the rear power outlet as it is out of sight for the driver. 4 strips, under back seats and in front footwells, all the cables are hidden. Loads of colours plus a music mode. Can be controlled via app or controller. I know this is borderline tacky, but thought I'd try it out for the laugh. Will see if I can live with it! https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QBMRQST/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_C-EJFbP3JNDHB
