  1. Just checked and no fault codes logged in VCDS.
  2. My wipers have always worked fine with the bonnet open.
  3. If I start the car now they'll work fine, then in a short time just stop working. Turn the ignition off and on again and same again.
  4. Driving along today and the front wipers stopped working on all settings. My first thought was to check the fuse, but when I turned the ignition on again they started working, until again they eventually stopped working. Last time I tried them I pressed the one pass (pressing down), and when I released it the wipers stopped mid-way across the screen. I pressed it down again and held it and the wipers moved again and returned to the start position. Rear wipers worked fine. Any ideas where the problem is likely to be? A possibility is the wiper stalk, but that probably doesn't explain why they stop working until the ignition is turned off and on again. Fuses 15 and 41 checked and both intact (though if either were blown I'd expect them to stop altogether). Many thanks.

I figure I shouldn't need to separate the exhaust downpipe from the manifold.
  6. Just started getting the apparently common issue of the immobiliser stopping the engine. Had it about 4 years ago but started using the other key instead and didn't start happening again until recently. Decided rather than try replacing the wire between the ignition coil and dash panel to replace the ECU with one with the immobiliser defeated. However the light still flashes on the dash. Any way to stop it?
  7. I have a Fabia 1.4 mpi which I think has a headgasket issue. One I've come across is NG motors in Cardiff which seem good. Any other recommendations for Garages? Newport would be preferable. Many thanks.
  8. Holy thread revival Batman! Does anyone know how long it takes the EPC light to come on the dash when the brake light stops working? I noticed when parking up at home a few days ago my brake lights intermittently worked. Yet lately they seem to work fine. I've not had a warning light on the dash yet. I've been straining to see if my brake lights are working from reflections in cars behind me, but can be hard to see in daylight. It's a common issue and so I've got a new switch to fit that regardless over Easter. I was just intrigued what conditions led to the EPC light. I'm guessing the intermittent nature keeps the ECU guessing until it has permanently failed?
  9. Ah so long since I've been on these forums.... (Work really taking it out of me). You've just saved me the hassle of bothering with ECP, thanks. I won't bother collecting my reservation now
  10. New hub carrier, hub, and abs sensor :'( sorted but credit card balance hit. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
  11. Just feel like having a bit of a cry lol. Don't suppose anyone knows any garages near Newport open this weekend or Monday? Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
  12. Easy to change. Unplug, two bolts, pull out. It's located on the back of the intake manifold.
  13. My ebay account was recently hijacked, and I suspect that this is exactly how it happened. I.e. using same password across sites.
  14. While owning my Favorit I amassed a rather large collection of spares and bits. They are at my mum's house in Leeds, though I have since moved to South Wales. This is near Leeds City Centre. There is a range of stuff including (but not limited to) trim, lights, and glass including rear screens, estate bumpers, ECUs, 135 cylinder head. There are some new parts such as a driveshaft, handbrake cables, and a pair of front new old stock shock absorbers. This would all take 2, possibly 3 trips with a Favorit estate with the rear seats removed. Would rather someone was able to take the majority of stuff and had space for it, rather than picking and choosing a bit here and there. Otherwise I'll probably eventually end up taking it all to the tip as don't have the time and patience to ebay it all - I'd rather someone got use out of it. I can understand some parts might not be wanted though, e.g. bumpers are bulky and so rigid that if the originals get damaged you'll need more than bumpers anyway.. We would need to try arrange a mutually agreeable time, when I come to visit Leeds as my mum won't have the first clue what's what. If you're interested please PM me.
  15. Logged on to the website but couldn't find it there either. With a Google I found a hidden link to/dashboard/groups and searched from there but no luck. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
  16. Guessing it is based on locality. I search for Briskoda and get no results. Try to create one with that name and it tells me one already exists Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
  17. I searched for a Briskoda group on Waze but couldn't find one. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
  18. So far as I am aware, no Hertz ones are available that will fit easily without lots of fettling and/or door card modification. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
  19. Probably to charge you more for the privilege :^) Note that the sound localisation issue is why the tweeter component of speakers are installed higher up/about ear level as it puts the soundstage there. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
  20. Yep rear speakers are only really there for the benefit of your backseat passengers. If you can hear them, then as above, it mucks the soundstage up. The exception to this is a subwoofer. Due to the nature of human hearing, it is not possible to localise bass sounds, so a subwoofer in the boot isn't an issue.
  21. Don't think any Hertz ones will fit without lots of effort spacing, and risk of vibrating on door panel at full excursion.
  22. How about them SAS terrorists. They were something.
  23. Single-handedly destroyed the housing market. Sold off social housing stock for knock off prices, which was never reinvested in more social housing. This created the mess we're in today where people have up to around £20 a week taken out of their benefits for having a spare bedroom, even if it is necessary due to a disability etc - and there are no single bedroom properties available. Created laws which allowed buy to let slumlords turf out anyone from their properties onto the streets for any reason whatsoever, further killing off the housing market and inflating prices. Destroyed industry. Created a greed-oriented economy, which is partly responsible for the current economic situation - the only positive is we didn't adopt the Euro currency, otherwise we'd never have been able to print money for nothing via quantitative easing, and probably have gone before Greece and Cyprus.
