  1. A (potentially) interesting conundrum. Over the course of the summer I had occasion to programme 16 ‘one-off’ destinations into my Amundsen MIB3 system. I deleted each one after the relevant journey, via the ‘saved destinations’ page/screen. I have now found that partial reference (general area + postcode only) to each of them has been retained, and is “offered” as a potential destination on the ‘spider’s web’ overlay when I start the car. None of them appear when the saved destination store is called up, but tapping on one will cause the system to plan & offer a route to it. After fiddling for half an hour or so I have deleted them from this ‘reservoir’ by pressing & swiping (right to left) which causes the delete dustbin to appear (as when deleting from the ‘saved’ page/screen). I’ve now got an uncluttered store of destinations but it does seem strange that the system seems to require that any saves are deleted twice.
  2. I've got wireless charging in the car but the phone's too old for it. Brodit holder to the left of the gear lever & a 30cm USBc to USBmicro does the business.
  3. Judging by some of the (many) comments on here (and elsewhere) on this & various other topics I would suggest that a large percentage of owners might call it "F.A.T."
  4. Have you applied to Guinness World Records yet ?
  5. I would suggest that "Sale of Goods Act"......"Not fit for purpose"........"Various Consumer Rights Acts" etc need to be brought into play. I'm not at all sorry that I have not gone down the 'latest technology' path on my car (in that I haven't embraced all the latest gizmos etc. provided), and have to say that if I had encountered half of the (very wide-ranging) problems reported her and on other mediums I would be engaging the services of a consumer law savvy lawyer and/or Trading Standards. The monies we are expected to part with nowadays, and what we (or, at least, some of us) get in return is nothing more than an almighty ripoff. I'm waiting for my first major problem (car is 13 mths old) but I certainly won't hold back if any of the 'niggles' reported on here should arise.
  6. And a lot more of 'em...............
  7. "works so well wirelessly in our 2020 Kamiq"...........I think they call it 'Progress' !
  8. I haven't tried it myself but understand there are one or more clips on Youtube showing how to connect Android Auto wirelessly using an Android phone. (I understand that iPhones are no problem). I've got my Samsung in a Brodit holder (to the left of the gear lever) & connect it using a 30cm USBc to USBmicro cable. Power & data in/out via the cable. Wired connection also minimises battery drain on phone (if it's running as a phone, SatNav (?Waze?) & possibly relaying music into the car's system).
  9. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to buy a car..............JUST a car!
  10. Miggs - I know how you feel. Can I be alone in thinking that using the vehicle (any vehicle) these days is, say, 25% knowledge of how to make the vehicle move & 75% of how to interpret & make work all the electronic gizmos ??
  11. We'll just leave it to them - they've already acknowledged that any parts will be provided, and as mentioned earlier they'd better not try charging for labour. I'll make sure I've got Trading Standards programmed into my phone!
  12. Serviced in July - not sure what level it was but AC normally on full time on lowest setting to control condensation/misting. It'll be interesting to see what they have to say for themselves.
  13. Invoices for both previous repairs state that they traced the fault(s) to the "control heater resistor unit" blah, blah, blah and in both cases they fitted new resistors (same part number both times). It's going in Wednesday; dealer has confirmed that the repair done earlier this year has a 12-mth warranty on parts & went ominously (?) silent when the question of labour was raised. I hope they won't try to argue with my missus over this aspect..........................
  14. My wife's 14 plate Citigo went in in 2019 for a new heater/blower controller/matrix/whatever - it would only work when fan speed set to 1 or 4. Unit replaced (& paid for!). In Jan this year the same fault. Unit replaced (& paid for - again!) Nine months later it's happened again. We're awaiting a call back from the dealer to set wheels in motion to sort it out. Whilst I've been active over the years on the forums for Yeti & now Karoq I've never looked at Citigo until today - I've never felt the need to. Has anybody else had this recurring problem?
  15. There are apparently videos on Youtube giving details of connecting Android phones wirelessly but I suspect the power drain on the phone might be considerable. I use my phone to project Waze onto the infotainment screen, with the phone held in a Brodit clip to the left of the gear lever (look on the Brodit site) & the phone linked by 30cm USBmicro to USBc cable. All works fine & phone is constantly recharging to replace Waze usage. Phone still works normally by Bluetooth.
  16. Might take you up on that offer - I'm coming up to Blackpool for a few days on Sunday !!
  17. Been there, done that. I used to live in Bridestowe.
  18. I have to wonder how many different versions of the Amundson there are. Mine is '23 facelift car, one year & one day old today. Following my earlier post, and your reply above, I've just spent half an hour in the car, trying to take up your suggestion(s), but nowhere in the screens is an icon such as you describe. I'm giving up on trying to get to grips with all its features, and will continue to use the hybrid version of built-in & Waze as previously described.
  19. Try getting VAG to acknowledge that !! I struggled at first & after 7 or 8 months intermittent "playing" with it managed to get some of the basics to reveal their secrets. I now usually use Waze + Android Auto for detailed, accurate information (but see below). The car has the wireless charging facility but my mobile doesn't - hence a USBc to USBmicro cable. The phone is held in a Brodit holder to the left of the gear lever. I've been able to input destinations to both the built-in unit & Waze, and generally display the built-in unit mapping (which, perhaps oddly, I prefer to the Waze graphics) but with Waze running in the background. Waze, of course, broadcasts any traffic announcements as usual. I find Waze instructions, guidance etc. to be very good. Several threads on this forum & others (inc. Facebook group(s)) would suggest that VAG couldn't give a sh** (what you said above!) - they've got your money so why should they bother?
  20. I'm note sure from where you might have got the idea that any 'wisdom' exists in the Skoda management model. I'm still struggling (after 12 months) to work out how to operate (or not as the case may be) certain of the car's features/functions as the manual supplied is ominously silent on several points. The online manual is not downloadable in .pdf form and we are presumably therefore expected to refer to it on a smartphone while sitting in the car. While I do have a fairly modern mobile I can't use it for internet purposes due to physical constraints. So I keep plodding away trying to find answers but have already decided to disregard certain of the car's modern 'wondertoys'. As I and several others have commented on other threads, Fb groups and forums the car is a beaut to drive & travel in, but the electronics?........ No - I can't say what I was thinking of - I'd be banned. By the way - I have the electric tailgate & haven't had any problems so it is with some trepidation that I read various other members' posts on that particular topic.
  21. My '23 facelift SEL (collected last October) has the virtual cockpit feature & it allows the configuration you are seeking (it's how I have mine set up), although I can't recall which optional extra (of the several that I specified) causes this. Can your dealer throw any light on this?
  22. I understand & accept your point about "easier [& therefore cheaper] to administer a global update", but if my desktop & laptop computers can 'refuse' to accept anything from Microsoft that relates to, say, Windows 11 (because they both run Windows 10) then there really can be no excuse for every driver to have to accept & have installed every update for every vehicle in the company's range. By all means offer the download to all vehicles but the vehicle can surely identify itself as not needing that particular piece of updated software & refuse to accept & process it. As you so rightly say " FFS, who comes up with this logic?"
  23. I would agree that a 'targeted' update might be far too much to expect from anybody at Skoda. As I (& several others) have previously commented the cars are (generally) excellent but the bells & whistles.......? Far too many, far too complex & potentially far too distracting for safe driving.
  24. Been getting the message above (on & off) for a couple of weeks or so & having a spare ten minutes this morning I thought I'd do something about it. As Kodiaqsportline suggested above I 'pulled down' the screen & followed his instructions. Reading through the details of the update I noted that it contained changes for Octavia & Enyaq users of the (presumed online) 'Shop'. I wonder if anybody at Skoda could explain the logic of (presumably) applying such an update to all vehicles (?) - but I think I already know the answer to that question. After a couple of minutes the update did install & complete. Total waste of time or what?
  25. I have a similar setup for my music collection which has now been plugged in for several months. I have the virtual cockpit on my '23 facelift 1.5 SEL & can't help with this problem as my start/refueling/long term figures are all OK, & have been for a long time. I only mention this because it seems to be yet another instance of the car's electronics doing their own thing, much to the frustration, I'm sure, of the owner. As several other contributors have opined the car is excellent but it seems that the accessories/extras/electronics could be described as grossly over-engineered.
