Yeti 1.4tsi 150
There were some early batches of 1.4 TSI (from 2009) where they experience chain and/or tensioner failures. Cars from 2010/11 I believe got a revised kit and tensioner. Though there were/are still many 1.4 TSI engines supposedly with the problem chains that ran fine with no problems too. It's apparently down to poor oil/insufficient changes etc. But not always the case.

Headlight aim - main and dipped beam
They have sperate adjustments. If yours is a UK spec pre-fl or a FL then they have a projector lens for dipped beam that has adjustment for up/down and left/right. Then the main beam has a separate up/down adjustment. European pre-fl has a different lens (reflector across all apart from xenon for some reason) so the adjustments may vary. All FL MK2s (UK and European) have the projector lens setup.

DSG gearbox question
The 6 speed has a specified interval of 40k Miles. The 7 speed has no set interval. The 7 speed actually has 2 oils in it. One for the gears and a separate one for the mechatronics.

Saab to Superb
I too had a Saab in between my two Octavias. Unfortunately mine was a bad experience with several breakdowns (one in France) and ending in complete engine failure. I unfortunately didn't have one of the good Saab petrol engines though and had the GM/Fiat/Saab diesel. Think that's where I went wrong. Was far from economical too (the 1.4 TSI I have now is more economical in the real world).

Dsg gearbox failed on skoda octavia vrs 65
Nah that's rubbish. My previous Octavia with 6 speed DSG had nearly 80k miles when I sold it and not even a hint of flywheel rattle. And the car did 20k miles in its first 4 years of ownership with the previous owner doing short trips. Most failures I've seen occur at 100k+.

How does the engine know the caliper is removed?
It's possible that the hub and or ABS sensor is damaged. I'm assuming you don't have any diagnostic equipment?

Dsg gearbox failed on skoda octavia vrs 65
58k is very low for a failure. It does seem odd. Unfortunately the 6 speed DSG still uses a DMF like you get on a manual gearbox. Depending on driving style and journey types these can fail prematurely. It's also very unusual for the clutches to fail so early. These often outlast the vehicle in the 6 speed since they are lubricated by the gearbox oil. Hopefully they can tell what the fault is before just blindly replacing the flywheel and clutches.

Bluetooth
It looks about right. They all look physically the same and with the same connector on. But it comes down to what's inside and if it's compatible with your car and stereo. P.s. it will need coding in by the way. So the garage was incorrect.

Bluetooth
Yes. Although you don't have to fit it under the seat. There is actually enough room behind the stereo and glovebox to mount it and it saves running the wires down to under the seat. There's a list around somewhere with all the Bluetooth part numbers and the protocols and functions that they support.

Also need to know which stereo you have. The module connects to the back of the stereo via an extra harness. There's also a microphone that slots into the interior light.

Automatic Newbie Question
If I'm just parked at home or work where it's flat and on private land then I just use P as it stops the buildup of the rust and markings in the rear discs (they tend to squeak the first couple of times otherwise). Anywhere else I use the handbrake too. I think it's also required to do so.

DSG Reversing Question
My guess is that when reversing slowly that the clutch never fully engaged and continues to slip. Pressing harder likely fully engages the clutch and so when releasing it is causing a this (could just be the drivetrain in general) or the clutch it self. Doing this in a manual would likely bring the same result.

DPF regeneration
Just be careful forcing a Regen straight away. You need to ensure the engine is otherwise in good order and that there's not a problem that's caused the DPF to block.

Winter is coming!
The resorts are closed and ski lifts too. But there's nothing to stop someone driving there as we're not (nor ever have had) a full lock down preventing people going out.

Winter is coming!
Zero snow here so far. I was bored today though and almost went for a drive as there's a ski resort an hour away (called Winterberg). It seems they have snow there at the moment. We were there a few years ago and there was over a meter of snow and drifts a few meters high. Had a Peugeot 306 1.9D that was running on veg oil... Took a bit of cranking to get it fired up 😂🤣

Headlight change/adjustment for use in Spain
I passed a German TÜV with my previous car. It was a RHD and had levers inside the lights to flatten the beam. If the Fabia also has this then it may suffice since a flat beam is usually allowed.

Winter is coming!
Here in Germany it is only a requirement for the tyres to have the alpine symbol on. Since we have mild winters then I just went for all season tyres.

Mot fail.... dpf removal
After owning my last car for a few months I discovered it had no DPF! Thankfully it passed an MOT and also a German TÜV. So the DPF still looked intact and the smoke was under the limit (only just!). Although the car drove lovely and with a remap too (240bhp and 500nm), I didn't enjoy driving it a lot as I constantly had a worry in my mind that I could be pulled over and get into trouble.

Passenger door rattle 😡
I also have a rattle from the passenger door. I only really hear it with loud music with lots of bass. The funny thing is though is that it's a LHD. So my passenger door is your driver's door. Sounds like it comes from the bottom of the door somewhere.

Mot fail.... dpf removal
That's shocking. Admittedly you've been a bit silly 🤣😂 But they openly guaranteed there will be no signs of tampering. It's highly likely that the car has been tested to the stricter value. If you scratch this number off the label in the door sill then they have to test it to the higher older value. But they'll still be inspecting the DPF with a fine tooth comb if it's already failed. Obviously the new DPF will need mapping back in and an initial forced Regen to reset all the pressure values etc. A once over/health check of the engine, hoses and EGR etc wouldn't go a miss to ensure the engine is running well and not going to clog up the new DPF within 100 miles.

Interesting stats on the decline of filling stations in the UK
Pretty much the same here. The bigger Marktkauf supermarkets usually have a fuel station. Raffeissen have them too (where I usually go as it's the cheapest usually). And SB have them usually too (a wholesalers). But it's very different to the UK in that regard. In the UK all the major supermarkets have their own station.

Interesting stats on the decline of filling stations in the UK
Interestingly Germany has also seen a similar trend so it's not something thats just specific to the UK. The number also peaked at around the same time with 46,091 at its peak and now 14,449 in 2020.

Mk2 vrs aftermarket stereo adaptors
Most of the kits that come with the stereos should work. They usually come with a harness and then a can-bus box which is usually described as for the steering controls. But that isn't it's only job. It basically converts the can-bus signals (including the steering controls) and outputs a signal for the stereo. So it will pick of the turn on and off signal, reverse gear signal etc and give a switched live etc for the stereo.

Coolant temp low
I'd say it kind of sounds normal especially if you've got the heaters going. On my journey this morning (around 7km) I got about half way and the temperature guage was around 70 and the oil was around 55c. Usually the guage reaches 90 before the oil temp even registers. But I had the fans blasting more than usual as the screen was a bit listed. Usually I just had it set to 19c and the coolant gets up quicker.

Citigo ASG
From the top of my head the problems I've heard of are the actuators, a software update needed or corroded/broken wires into the control modules.
