Any advice on buying a 2018 Sportline 2.0L 220 ?
I have spun the front tyres on my 150PS diesel twice in 1st gear whilst pulling onto a busy roundabout when I forget I haven't got 4WD grip anymore but 60mpg is the upside and my licence is still without any points as well so all good really. Oh and it has the DSG gearbox.

Karoq 1.5 SE L Tyres
Bought our 1.5TSi manual Karoq new on 26/01/2018 and it came with Michelin Primacy 3 Eco tyres which have been excellent and removed the wheels a few months ago at 27,000 miles and there was still 3/4mm of thread left on all 4 tyres. I would buy them again because they were good even in 2 inches of snow last winter when other vehicles were struggling they still found grip. Have no complaints about them but in the standard 215/50R18 size they are expensive to replace. I had some 19" Superb Vega alloys which bolt straight onto the Karoq so my wife is enjoying the extra grip of the Bridgestone SOO1 Performance tyres in 235/40R19 size. Economy has been 46mpg overall this year in just 6,000 miles since January 2020. Ride is good on both these tyres despite the extra width and lower side profile of the SOO1 and when they are worn out I will probably put the 18" Braga alloys it came with the latest Michelin Eco tyres whether that is Primacy 5 or something similar.

My Third MK3 Superb But The First Diesel
Yeah very pleased with it so far after 1,540 miles bought just 114 litres at a cost of £127.74.

My Third MK3 Superb But The First Diesel
Day 75 and finally it was filled today with £55.32 of diesel which was 49 litres exactly. The maxidot is about 5% optimistic so after another 651 miles (projected range was 935 miles) it averaged 60.39mpg and the average speed for the 16 hours driving was 40mph or 64kph thanks to less traffix over the Xmas period.

My Third MK3 Superb But The First Diesel
Having owned the 1.4TSi Superb in 2016 and we still have our 2018 Karoq with the later 1.5TSi with the same power and it has done 28,600 miles it is clear to me that the earlier engine is better than the latest one as any Kodiaq owner will tell you and the torque of the similar powered diesel makes it feel much quicker in gear.

Make sure it has good quality tyres fitted because this engine with front wheel drive will spin the tyres pulling away in 1st gear on even a dry surface but had water on the road or icy conditions and you will be sitting at the lights simply doing a burn out like a 500bhp Ford Mustang.

My Third MK3 Superb But The First Diesel
Done 554 miles so far on the second tank and maxidot is saying average since refuelling is 63.8mpg. Would be just over 900 miles on this tank but I have a Nectar token for 5 times normal points to use before Saturday so will fill up after my final shift of 2020 on Thursday morning at around the 650 mile mark and calculate the actual mpg figure. Should be able to put in around 46-48 litres of diesel and last time I saw it was around £1.129 per litre.

Fuel Flap not closing
Dealer fixed it under warranty as the car was only 12 months old at the time.

Fuel Flap not closing
Normally the solenoid fails which is normally what locks the fuel flap shut when the car is locked. This happened to me on a 2005 SEAT Toledo.

After too many mince pies, too much turkey it was just 56 minutes on the bike today before my first night shift and 23km so the Day 28 totals are now 823km and 34 hours 19 minutes.

But you’re not driving a 2020 diesel to compare are you. Driving to work over the last 2 days have allowed better average speeds between 42-44mph and last 3 commutes of 65/66/67mpg. Currently driven 419 miles on 2nd tank with 530 miles range left.

Active day so far having had a lunchtime 3.3 mile walk followed by 1 hour 23 minutes on the bike which resulted in another 36km taking the Day 27 totals to 800km and 33 hours 23 minutes. Also preparing our Xmas dinner for this evening with carrots, parsnip drizzled with honey, sweet potato and normal spuds, brussels, broccoli with yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy washed down with a glass of Chilean Merlot. Should be enough Turkey at 1.4kg for the two of us as the packaging states it feeds eight people. Happy Xmas everyone on Briskoda.

Bike ride stats/Strava etc
When I was very small used to eat mud because I didn't know any better. Now the only mud I like is a Mississippi Mud Pie.

Bike ride stats/Strava etc
It was dry in my spare bedroom yesterday unlike outside but still not easy as I averaged 109BPM with a peak of 120BPM over 54km.

My top 3 would have been Toyota, Honda and BMW because I can't afford the others.

The TT
Good read and remember your Blue MG at Snetterton in November 2018. Looked properly quick and my stage 2 Vrs245 would pull 117mph on the Donington back straight and 116mph on the pit straight with 336bhp but 1,370kg.

Hardly a surprise the Mini with 30bhp less than the Toyota was 6 seconds a lap slower.
