  1. Agree had a slight problem opening my drivers door after it sitting in our rural office car park for 12 hours last night and it was only -4.5C not the -12C seen in the Scottish Highlands recently. Only got 57mpg from my diesel on the commute home as well.
  2. After 3 days at work back on the bike today and managed 1 hour and 25km. Day 33 completed totals now 40 hours and 963km. Average speed now 24kph.
  3. Did you get close to your advertised price? Might help others if you share your mileage and price buyer paid.
  4. Looks similar to my Energy Blue Superb. Thinking of buying some Gold alloys for the summer.
  5. My last 3 Skoda's have all suffered the same thing after plenty of rain or after washing including Octavia 245 with LED headlights, 2019 Superb 272 Sportline Plus with Xenons and my current 2020 Matrix LED SEL Superb with the same condensation inside the headlamps. Simply clever built-in standard feature I'm afraid, no point in complaining.
  6. Done just under 200 miles now on the third tank and thanks to less traffic my average speed has been 10% higher at 44mph yet the average economy is still 61mpg and 900 mile range despite most journey's seeing no more than 2C temperatures. This car handles really well for it's size and has less wallow than my 2 previous petrol Superbs from 2016 and 2019 and the back of the car is much firmer than earlier models with good turn-in and corners and roundabouts can be taken at surprisingly high speeds. It is very confidence inspiring and one of the biggest improvements I have noticed on the 2020MY plus the excellent headlights of course.
  7. Talked to a company car driver of an SEL estate 2020 Hybrid Superb today and he said if it wasn't for the tax savings he makes every month with BIK payments to HMRC then he would have had another 150PS diesel as due to the mileage he does he was getting upto 80mpg from his previous Superb diesel yet the hybrid is averaging just 28mpg due to the mainly motorway usage. The most he is getting on battery power is 19 miles and he said the extra weight takes its toll on economy and handling. Only recharges the battery under braking which he doesn't do much when cruising on the motorway. If he was spending his own money he wouldn't buy the hybrid.
  8. Bet @lol-lol would be as fast Hamilton then based upon his thesis.
  9. Lazy day so went for a 5.7 mile walk at lunchtime which took 2 hours so only spent 1 hour on the bike today so Day 32 totals now 39 hours and 938km.
  10. I sold my set around September 2018 with 12,500 miles on the Pirelli P Zeroes and got £600 for them. They were in excellent condition and just 12 months old.
  11. I weighed a 18" Octavia alloy with 225/40R18 tyre and it was 21.9kg and a 19" alloy with 235/35R19 tyre which was 22.5kg so using the figures quoted above for 18" alloy (12.9kg) and 19" alloy (13.9kg) the tyres would be approximately 9kg for 18" and 8.6kg for 19".
  12. It's called Dragon Green and only available on Sportline models.
  13. Day 31 completed with a further 1 hour 48 minutes and 43km (982 calories) so the totals now stand at 38 hours and 913km.
  14. Hi Phil yeah all my friends can't believe how low our bills are. Wife has been working from home since March 2020 due to the C word. Water is pumped from the tank under the lawn to flush our 3 toilets. The house was only £166,700 new as well.
  15. Not much speed in the legs today but steady progress in the 60 minute morning sessions with another 23.5km and more importantly at this time of the year 535 calories. More to come later.
  16. When I was resetting the trip odometer thought I would check when the first service is due and the countdown is 350 days or 9,900 miles so towards the end of 2021 probably. Not bad as it came with 2 services for £79 and was registered in Feb 2020. That would put it around 17,700 miles.
  17. Did quite a bit research before reserving our new build in September 2011. 4 Bed semi-detached 3 storey home with the latest 200mm loft insulation, cavity wall insulation and double glazed windows and patio doors throughout. Yes we have a smart meter fitted for free and a tank in the garden to capture rain water from the roof and garage using the guttering. What does all this mean, well here are our monthly direct debit payments which we have been paying for nearly 9 years now. Water bill £18.32, Electric bill £18.78, Gas bill £16.70. I did replace about 50% of the light bulbs in the house with lower energy LED's.
  18. My 2020 Superb 150PS Evo diesel uses Adblue before both catalysts and this reduces nitrogen oxide by 80% compared to the 2019 model. I have averaged 61mpg so far in nearly 3 months and 1,500 miles of ownership so far so economy is strong and official co2 is 103gm/km with the 7 speed DSG box.
  19. Could be a knackered rear wheel bearing that needs replacing and is not being lubricated anymore and overheating. Common issue on most Octavia's as they age.
  20. Had the 1.6TDi in a Fabia Monte Carlo hatch and a Fabia estate SE and it's ok but you might as well go for the 2.0TDi because in the real world it delivers better economy because you're not having to thrash it to get upto speed whereas the bigger engine is quieter and my 2013 Octavia managed 70mpg and my 2020 Superb 150PS diesel a remarkable 78mpg.
  21. It will feel comfier than the Golf on 19" alloys for sure. Enjoy your new car I still enjoy driving the wife's car with the high driving position lording it over all those small hatchbacks and being as high a seating position as a Range Rover Evoque owner enjoys.
  22. Well we find there is a huge amount of suspension travel (just try jacking up a Karoq to change a wheel like I did and you will understand) so the smaller sidewall on the 19" alloy is barely noticeable unlike a conventional hatchback or saloon where the top of the tyre is much nearer to the wheel arch. Just my opinion and when I fuel it I take my wife's Karoq to work and it's 27 miles each way and includes town roads, country roads plus motorway and dual carriageway and the extra grip in corners is worth the small difference in ride quality IMHO. Others may disagree but our car has now covered 28,600 miles.
  23. Yeah best avoided with all those boy racers having warmed the tyres nicely before the engine got upto temperature so probably now drinks oil and will give problems to the next owner for sure. Give it a wide berth even if it's silly cheap.
  24. Had a couple of targets today and all the stars seemed to be aligned so in the end I stopped at 1 hour 12 minutes and 30km and reached 20,000 calories. Day 30 completed and totals are 870km and 36 hours 12 minutes.
