Is a Superb 272 calling me?
My tuner forgot to remove the factory limiter and it wouldn't go past 160mph in 6th or 7th gear after less than mile of acceleration.

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
Even in December 2019 when I was looking to buy a 272 the one I really wanted with a very high spec was priced over £30,000 and more than £6,000 more than I wanted to pay. Ended up buying a cheap low spec car which with hindsight was a mistake but much happier with my current high spec diesel. Toys were ultimately more important to me than performance and with lockdown and too many roadworks on my commute during 2020 took the fun out of driving a high performance car. A stage 1 car with typically 360bhp is capable of 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds and 0-100mph in 10.5 seconds and you have to hang onto the steering wheel as the force of this acceleration forces you back into the sport seats. It is quite shocking even coming from an Octavia Vrs245 like I did.

Karoq SEL 1.5TSi ACT Manual 34 month Update and Review
Tim what tyres are fitted to your Sportline (make and size please) just out of interest, because the Bridgestone S001 on my wife's Karoq are very grippy and such has been the reduction in her mileage I'm seriously thinking to fill it with Shell V-Power Nitro+ from next month and remap it sometime in March.

Skoda Octavia IV pictures thread
True story once got pulled over for overtaking a lorry on a B Road (I may have gone over the 50mph limit) but an unmarked white Police Octavia Vrs245 put on his siren and lights and I pulled over into a safe spot when I was driving my black Vrs245. He checked my details, had a friendly chat about slowing down and let me go without any fine or points. He must have been a Skoda fan and appreciated how quickly my 302bhp Octavia accelerated.

Karoq SEL 1.5TSi ACT Manual 34 month Update and Review
I think you make a valid point that my summer 235/40R19 tyres which are currently on the car (got 49mpg on the commute last night) are stiffer and more Eco based than a softer higher profile winter or mud+snow tyre with say a 215/60R16 profile. More comfortable yes but probably not more economical.

Our Moon white Karoq still looks great almost 3 years after we bought it despite not having cleaned it since sometime in December. However it has only been driven for 193 miles in the last 4 weeks.

Karoq SEL 1.5TSi ACT Manual 34 month Update and Review
Small update 1 week before the car has its first MOT next Monday. Worked out total amount of fuel purchased since new over 28,803 miles (46,382km) and it is 2,867.65 litres or 630.81 gallons. This works out at 16.17km per litre or 45.66mpg. In the last 4 weeks during lockdown the car has traveled just 193 miles and used 23 litres of petrol. Will update this thread after next weeks MOT and second service due around October 2021. The plan is to get the first brake fluid and all 3 wiper blades replaced at this point.

SE variant DSG doesnt have Drive mode selection, so no option to select "ECO" or allow Coasting?
My virtual dash changes from say E7 to just E to tell you it has gone into neutral and the revs drop to 800rpm which is idle speed so look at your Rev counter and if you were doing 70mph on the motorway in 7th gear it drop from 1,600rpm to show you were indeed coasting.

SE variant DSG doesnt have Drive mode selection, so no option to select "ECO" or allow Coasting?
My 2020 diesel SEL has DSG and the drive mode button and using the Individual function I have saved Sport steering (heavier) and Eco for the gearbox so after pressing the start button I select the drive mode and tap Individual. Yes the coasting saves fuel judging by my 27 mile commute yesterday when the 150PS diesel reported an indicated 75.5mpg. Still on my third tank and done more than 2,000 miles at a calculated 61mpg average. Very pleased with the car and the high spec mine came with.

My Third MK3 Superb But The First Diesel
Well the plan not to use the Superb went out of the window so now done 22 commutes on this tank and thanks to Saturday evening being very mild here in the Midlands managed 75.5mpg and after 598 miles still have 335 miles left in the tank. Probably need fuel at the end of January and checked last year when I had the petrol 272 and spent £136 in January 2020 alone plus £75 in petrol for SWMBO Karoq’ so the total was £211. Will be interesting to see how Lockdown will reduce that total plus am saving £47 per month in finance on the diesel as it was £1,000 less to purchase with similar mileage.

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
I didn't buy it but the colour and spec appealed to me and obviously someone else.

Visually etc. My car of the day -today
Paying £65,000 extra to get beaten by the AUDI you must really want the higher driving position and the extra weight and fuel consumption of the LAMBO. Perfect for Premier League footballers then.

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
They all leave the factory with Long Life oil and are capable of going 18,600 miles (30,000km) or 2 years until the first service. This can be changed by a dealer to 1 year intervals or 9,400 miles.

Well matched then. Thought the Michelins might give the Merc a slight advantage over the Bridgestones on the Audi.

Superb MKIII owners register
Mine welcomes me with SLOW SHY because it replaced a 360bhp Superb 272. Still the 150bhp diesel does what is says on the tin and best I got in the warmer weather when I picked it up in October was 78.5mpg but during the first 2,000 miles during winter it has still averaged more than 60mpg which is remarkable for such a spacious, comfortable and quiet cruiser which it excels at. Congrats on a sound and sensible if not exciting purchase.
