  1. Had a busy physical day so far with 7 boxes containing a new wardrobe needing to be carried up 2 flights of stairs by myself and SWMBO weighing 135kg in total then spending 1 hour on the bike clocking up 582 calories and covering a further 26km. Day 37 totals are now 46 hours and 1,107km.
  2. Reminds me of my spending on my 2017 Vrs245. £500 for the remap to get it to 302bhp, then another £2,500 to squeeze a further 34bhp and 50nm more torque (from 467 to 517nm). Sometimes stage 1 seems more appealing.
  3. You would be very lucky if a dealer offered you £1,000 in part exchange, however combined with a PCP deal you might get up to £3,000 off a new vehicle plus your part exchange making you feel better about letting it go.
  4. Elon Musk has just been announced as having more billions in dollars to his name than any other Billionaire on the Planet and don't forget he is even building rockets for NASA through his Space X project. He might be able to afford fixing the touchscreens and may even find time to remove the fart function which seems a bit pointless unless American customers enjoying pressing that button when passengers clamber onboard.
  5. I was also a bit of a dinosaur or luddite if you prefer just 3 years ago then I experienced the pleasure of using a 7 speed DSG and I missed my reversing camera from my 2017 Vrs245 so that and the excellent virtual dash convinced me to dump the basic Sportline Plus I bought in 2019 and replace with all the toys I missed. When you finally get a car with the latest technology including very bright Matrix headlights and blind spot monitors in the wing mirrors helps enormously on busy dual carriageways and motorways to reduce stress levels on my 40 minute commute. Adaptive cruise control works well when I'm tired and finishing a 12 hour night shift.
  6. Done just over 2,000 miles now since collecting the car on 17th October and it will be getting a rest for the next week as wife needs a fuel receipt for her Karoq and it needs a few decent runs in preparation for its first MOT on the 25th January. Currently driven about 12 hours on the third tank which is 513 miles and showing 380 miles left in the tank at an average of 42mph and 62mpg on the maxidot. Should be able to get close to the end of the month if I use wife's car for my night shifts.
  7. My old Vrs245 did 29,000 miles with a manual gearbox and never had a problem with the clutch despite stage 2 and 336bhp plus 517nm of torque. It was a 2017 model and I owned it from new and it even did 2 track days. On a separate note back in 2015 my Superb Mk2 had a clutch fail at 11,000 miles and my local dealer got it replaced under warranty saving me more than £1,000. It was less than 12 months old and I explained I had never had a clutch fail in 32 years of driving and it must be a faulty component that caused the failure. Hope this helps with your claim.
  8. Bought a Black 272 hatch from Marshall’s Leicester and never had any problems with the car. IIRC it was £23,840 with only 4,900 miles direct from Skoda UK but only had the spare wheel and if it had VC and Canton I might still own it. My followers on here know I averaged 40mpg but I have a nice motorway commute but it did average 48mpg down to Newquay (some 280 miles) and could normally manage 560 miles per tank or 720 miles on a long trip. Those that break the speed limit all the time will tell you it does 25-35mpg. Yours being a 2020 facelift with those options I would phone the dealer to ensure it wasn’t over £40,000 new which would make the first 6 years VED almost £500 per year.
  9. I stopped today at 1 hour and 50 minutes because I was knackered having done 128km in the last 3 days. Another 1,027 calories today and 45km so the Day 36 totals are 45 hours and 1,091km. Back to work for a rest for the next 3 days thankfully.
  10. Steady rather than spectacular this morning with 1 hour and 24km completed burning 565 calories. Hopefully something similar or slightly better this afternoon.
  11. You can get a non-Skoda garage to do the first service with genuine Skoda parts but if anything goes wrong before your 3 year warranty is up most Skoda garages will see who did the first service and blame them for doing something to your car and then expect you to pay for whatever work needs doing. For example my wife's Karoq is 3 years old on 26th January 2021 and it has had 1 service at the supplying Skoda dealer at 18,700 miles yet it had to go back for a software update to the ECU plus it also needed 2 new key fobs which became faulty and wouldn't work. All this work was done under warranty and didn't cost me a penny but if I had to pay the work would have been over £500. So the real question is do you feel lucky and is it worth taking the risk and going independent on the first service. Sometimes independent don't know how to reset the service countdown and you end up 12 months and 9,600 miles later saying it needs the 2nd service so you end up not making any savings anyway.
  12. When it left the factory it was set to do either 18,600 miles or 30,000km or 2 years whichever comes first. Looks like you are bang on schedule for the mileage limit. My advice would be to get this first service with a Skoda dealer and ask them to use Long Life oil which will give you either 2 years or 18,600 miles to the next service. If you have any warranty issues in the first 3 years from it's registration you can take it back to the dealer. The second service is now likely to be after 3 years at which point you can save a few founds and take it out of the Skoda network.
  13. Simple early retirement and ditch the commute and working for a boss who can't even to be bothered to turn up on time for the start of a shift.
  14. My diesel hit 7,777 miles a couple of weeks ago as I got to work but not been able to post any photo's on here since October. Just throws me out of whatever section I'm in when I try to select a photo. Not the end of the world though a small 1st world tech issue.
  15. I was a bit confused........like your Superb diesel that thinks it's an Octavia Vrs.
  16. Well I'm a bit hot and sweaty (need a shower ASAP) but happy with my 100 minutes on the bike and can chill for the rest of the day having achieved 1,023 calories and 45km more. So the Day 35 totals are 43 hours 10 minutes and 1,046km. Next target is 1,500km by 9th February.
  17. Good morning session so far with 40 minutes on the bike 18km in the legs and 400 calories. Target today is to hit 1,000 calories so let's see how far and long that takes me.
  18. Despite my usual 72 hours at work since last Sunday legs were really strong today and I had 2 targets to aim for. The first was 23,000 calories which was achieved after another 90 minutes on the bike today and a further 38km. The second target was to reach 1,000km exactly 2 months after starting this exercise plan on November 9th. So the Day 34 totals are now 41 hours 30 minutes and 1,001km.
  19. Snowing in Madrid, Spain's Capital with 20cm due to fall in the next 24 hours.
  20. Called Maxidot Screen in the brochure.
  21. Orange Doh wrong section again old age kicking in.
  22. Would need to average 69mpg actual for the 14.5gallon tank.
  23. Yeah tall order during winter. Tonight’s commute in milder 1.5C temps and even better 65.5mpg and range estimated at 942 miles.
  24. Plenty of traffic on the roads that just wasn't there back in the March 2020 Lockdown which is confusing and it was already -1.5C before I left for work at 5pm last night but managed an excellent 63.5mpg then this morning at a warmer 0C I got 64.5mpg on the return 27 mile journey. Covered 300 miles on this third tank and showing 635 miles range left in the tank.
