Living With A Sportline Plus 272 Hatch
Well with just 200 more posts on here until I leave Brisky back in the Karoq for the next 2 nights but for once my wife has driven more miles today than me as she had 3 home visits clocking up 60 miles today (she can claim them at 45 pence per mile) so the car was nicely warmed for me. Got stuck behind a tractor towing a tractor for 2 miles in roadworks at 20mph (6 minutes in 3rd gear) so economy wasn't great but it has now been driven for 999 hours (someone call the Police) since we purchased it on 26th Jan 2018. Will take one final photo as it gets close to 1,000 hours driven tomorrow. Weather forecast looking settled and warm for our weekend away so some positive news after a pretty miserable July following excellent weather in April and May.

Bought the new Skoda Octavia mk4 1.5 TSI (6 speed manual)
I thought the new model was more like 45 litres? The 4 x 4 Octavia Mk3 had a 55 litre capacity yet front wheel drive models had 50 litres. Same with Karoq front wheel drive 50 litres and 4WD 55 litres.

2020 F1 Discussion
Ferrari Chairman John Elkann has made a statement following criticism of the 2020 Red Racer saying that the Team would not be competitive until the 2022 season. My answer to that is why bother continuing to throw money at F1 if you have no chance of winning unless your competitors fail to finish a race (Mercedes AMG and Red Bull Racing).

It's probably the startled Postman thinking your estate is a Post Van making that noise as he drops your letters.

Superb 272 Sportline vs Golf R Estate
Simple no to the farts and I think I would notice having driven mine for almost 5,000 miles since going stage 1 in early Feb with just 6,400 miles on the clock. The 280 with the 6 speed DSG did 2,300rpm I believe at 70mph in top whereas the 7th gear in the 272 allows it to cruise at the legal limit at just 2,000rpm so making it a quieter cruiser and more economical. Best economy from mine when standard (283bhp on the rolling road) was 45.9mpg and after (with 359.6bhp) has been 49.3mpg. Overall after some 11,160 miles now covered it is averaging a very reasonable 39.13mpg yet at 160mph it only does 12mpg.

Skoda Octavia 3 Owners register
What part of OZ do you live in because @StealthRS245 has a very nice tuned 245 Octavia in Black Magic and visits this forum? The wheel hop is one of the reasons I switched from my 2017 336bhp Vrs245 to a 4WD Superb 272 for the infinitely better traction. Much more fun when you actually move forward rather than bounce up and down like a demented Mexican cartel leader.

Looking for my next car - a VRS
Cheap is not always the best choice. If the budget needs increasing to find the right car. When buying used I'm flexible on colour but choose the model whether it be an SEL Karoq or my Superb 272 hatch. If they are missing some desirable extras then that is reflected in a lower price but the condition must be excellent because it's difficult to polish a turd as we all know.

Looking for my next car - a VRS
There are far better examples out there waiting for the right customer. When I traded in my early 2017 August 245 with all the spec you are looking for the dealer gave me just £16,250 trade in last December with 29,000 miles on the clock and the interior was like a brand new car. Be patient and the right 245 will find you. You may regret buying an unloved example like the Blue 230.

What have they done to this superb?
If you see a Black 272 hatch don't overtake it or I might get jealous.

New front tyres and tyres rotation
John you need to visit more scrap yards then your eyes will give you the proof. Once had some warranty work (welding) done on my 2009 Superb Mk2 and the dealer couldn't handle the work so subbed it out to a vehicle repairer nearby. When I arrived I noticed he had a lot of rear wheel drive Prestige German cars in his yard smashed up and needing bodywork repairs. When I asked him whether he specialised in high end luxury cars only his reply was no but they have more accidents than mainstream front wheel drive cars hence the reason their insurance premiums are so much higher as well. It isn't rocket science really.

You should be alright down there as this Friday it is forecast to be 33C in London. We are going to Cornwall in September so the weather will be nice then as well. You could have had a go in a really quick Superb as a bonus.

Cheers Mum. Not too far from you this weekend. We have ordered hot weather for Cumbria and the surrounding Counties.

New front tyres and tyres rotation
That would explain all those written off Merc's and BMW's in salvage yards.

New front tyres and tyres rotation
We have absolutely no control how owners of superior cars like BMW, Mercedes and Audi drive or whether they fit cheap Korean ditchfinders on their company car.

What have they done to this superb?
It seems that when they build Skoda's these days there are a limited supply of them. Might get a carbon fibre cover to annoy those that have the felt cover.

Bought the new Skoda Octavia mk4 1.5 TSI (6 speed manual)
That explains quite a bit about refinement improvements with higher profile tyres part of the new suspension ideas on the Mk4 plus narrower tyres than before to reduce drag and improve fuel consumption but unfortunately they decided to save weight by making the fuel tank smaller again so the range is probably smaller compared to the Mk3.

Karoq pictures
They must be a fan of 1970's American cars with a chrome fixation. Not my taste at all. Makes my wife's white Karoq above look even better.

Scirocco R Pre Facelift
The Superb must have made quite an impression on me as I bought used ones in 2012 and 2014 (FL) and a new Mk3 in 2016 and my present car used in 2019.

Scirocco R Pre Facelift
Always preferred the styling of Scirocco compared to the Golf but the R is front wheel drive isn't it probably based upon a SEAT Cupra platform yet it still handles well from the you tube video's I've watched.I also lusted over one and bought a Mk2 Superb instead back in 2009.

playing with infotainment
If your car has KESSY just touch the start/stop button lightly and the electric power will enable you to check anything on the screen or listen to the radio. If you have a key to start the car then just turn slightly in the ignition switch without starting the car and the normal warning lights should appear.

It's a little known fact but Black cars go faster than any other colour.
