  1. It was massa who has fitted the Seat Sport Ibiza (2003) strut brace to his fabia tdi. He reckons it stiffened/improved the handling on his, so might be worth doing. Pic below but not that clear.
  2. Come on! There must be more than just me and Jason who can make the convoy! The more the merrier!
  3. Yes someone who posted on here before has the SEAT one fitted to his fab. Not worth bothering with unless you've uprated the suspension i would have thought.
  4. I think also in large diesel engines engine braking is reduced because of the large heavy flywheels used in them. Also becoming a problem in passenger cars as the heavier flywheels are being used to aid refinement/smoothness etc. possibly:confused:
  5. It will take a while to get used to the new springs. They bed in a little too after a while. Excessive bounciness is caused by the bump stops. I would describe the ride on mine as firm but not bouncy. You can always compare yours to mine and see what you think.
  6. Yes we need more cars for the convoy! Maybe a convoy so large, we would need a couple of these to escort us!!
  7. How good is our convoy going to look next friday?! :drive1: :drive1: :drive1: :drive1:
  8. Have koni sport yellows on mine, but bounciness on mine was caused by the bump stops. You could try Koni reds, which are designed to improve handling while retaining a comfortable ride. Personally I wouldnt fit lowering springs to worn shocks as it will probably kill them off completely. However i would be surprised if your shocks are worn out after three years unless you've done mega miles, so the advice given by skodaw and jaytee sounds good.
  9. Excellent Graeme! I somehow knew you'd go for a yellow one! Can you get the Xenon lights on the UK spec ones, as you cant get them on the Octy which is a shame.
  10. Graeme, i've had a problem with the window switch swapping sides (left switch operates right) and refusing to work also. Mirrors packed up too. Cured by switching off engine, locking car and opening again (ie something was reset somewhere) Its done it a couple of times but not recently and i think other Fabia owners have reported the same. :(
  11. Colin, what kind of groups were you thinking of splitting the cars into for the drive? :drive1:
  12. Would be happy to try and help Jason. notice I said try though! :(
  13. getting bored with only 232bhp are we?
  14. stockcar, can you supply feroddo ds2500s for the fabia? (sorry to hijack the thread!)
  15. All i can remember about Chirk is the castle. Whats so special about Chirk? :drive1: :drive1: :drive1:
  16. Some press photos here too. (look in the photobank section)
  17. Do you mean a Fabia vRS or an Octy? Took a test drive in an Octy vRS the other day and loved it.
  18. Will you have the springs fitted for the meet btw?
  19. Thanks Colin, i need a room for Friday night definitely. Not sure about Saturday night yet though. Will let you know if thats ok.
  20. out of puff at 3500rpm? Jason you definitely need a remap!
  21. Another possibility is meeting at Junction 4 M42. Thats near me and theres a place we could meet up. Would mean an extended tour of Brum but we could meet others etc from East Midlands way etc.
  22. Frankley sounds fine to me! There arent any services on the M54 that i know of and the first one on the *** is near ****** i think. Where is the start point? Sorry i've not been paying attention :baa: (edited in fear of losing life )
