Im interested, but can't commit fully until i know a price, as i'll need to budget around it, which is ATM difficult as SWMBO is out of work, waiting to start new job . So im footing all costs... Probably will be for 2-3m, so that she can start her new job and get paid etc.

vRS PD 170 - engine management software disk & part
djgritt replied to *CJ*'s topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Mine is having the Update work carried out now, as well as the DPF Unit replaced. Odd thing is, (well, not odd considering the dealers its with) they are saying they only saw the bulletin last week... Though i see it mentioned here early august? Hopefully be back with it by weekend... -
Good pictures - miffed i had no car to tag along with though... Was really looking forward to it :(

Fan continuing after engine stop?
djgritt replied to Oli's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Mine does it a lot, always has, so assume its not an issue - may be to do with the AC, but not sure -

First DPF Warning and the car is now in the garage
djgritt replied to djgritt's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Well, the typical Westover ball is rolling... Called them on Friday (as i hadnt heard a thing since dropping the car off last Sat) 'Angela' on the desk deals with my call - i get told that the new DPF Unit had arrived that morning, but they were just clearing off some other minor work that morning (no mention of afternoon there...) and wouldn't start the repair of mine until Monday - as the service dept is only manned by one Tech on a Saturday - so great, no car, work not happy, not much i can do. You'd think they would have wanted rid of the Octavia thats been sat in the Workshop for a week already... I HATE Westover. -
I had a nice shiny new one fitted when mine went the other month But kicking off about the issues i've had with mine does help me out... Bad news that it happens on holiday mind, Hope its sorted soon

Yellow makes it look like a (fairly) Local Taxi firm to me, hence why i wouldn't get one in Yellow. If i lived elsewhere... Maybe.

First DPF Warning and the car is now in the garage
djgritt replied to djgritt's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I won't be paying a thing for it - they said warranty anyway - the system logs the mileage that the alarms come up, so they will be able to see that the DPF came on, then the Exhaust Control light 1-2miles later, and where i live, it's impossible to get it onto a continued pace/rev range for the 5-15mins, so i'd have had no chance anyway -

Me too. Pity it's at Westover's... Though, they were pretty helpful today so far... I'll give them a second chance with this -
Basically had the following happen lastnight; Managed to get to a dealership today, and they plugged the car into the Diagnostics/VAGCOM (dunno what) Came back out and put a piece of paper in front of me; DPF Sooting Level - 105% RISK OF FIRE - DO NOT DRIVE Action, Replacement DPF Well, pretty much that - the level is showing 105% and the recommended action is a new Filter So, we are now having to go on our camping trip in SWMBO's Corsa Not a bad effort for the first time the DPF has flashed up for me - and the odd thing is, i hadn't driven in a town, or slowly for a couple of days prior to it lighting....

Hmmm. I may need to get onto this Update ASAP - my DPF Light came on earlier (first time ever @ 36400 miles) - i was at the end of our lane, 1 mile later at home. Went out this evening, and straight after starting the car had the DPF and Exhaust Control System light on - did 25 miles of the DPF Regen cycle as stated in the Manual, and no better - then my Glow Plug light came on and started flashing and put the car into limp mode. According to the book the possibilities are, my Filter is blocked/full, a Controller/Sensor in the exhaust has failed (probably Lambda) and then the Glow Plugs/Engine Control loight is flashing - could be related to the duff exhaust sensor.... Not happy, supposed to be going on Holiday on Monday, and have no appointment to get the car looked at, so will have to just turn up at a dealers.... -

It was the A4069 between Brynamman & Llangadog (Was working at Cambrian Pet Foods in Llangadog)

I like how it SOUNDS, just not how it performs when using the radio It SOUNDS better than the OE Sony setup i had in my Mondeo beforehand
-
I was crawling at those points and the road was clear (enough) in front and behind - wouldnt have tried otherwise...
-
I find mine crap TBH Radio Reception is terrible, and the Auto Freq. function is crap too, tends to change to a worse signal than a better one. Always picks up interference along the same stretches of road, where i've taken 5 or 5 different cars through in the past without issues. Sounds good otherwise, can't fault that.
-
Excellent pics Was up on those roads today, great for a blat

Wwas working in a Village in Wales today - a village that was outskirting the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains... The last time i went there, i went along an awesome mountain road, but was in the Mondeo as the Skoda was still engine-less, this time however... So, in anticiaption of this road, i took my camera with me today, as i knew there would be some good scenery for photo's of the car; Entering the Park; Along a bit more; Can see the road for a good mile ahead; Finished work, then headed back the same way as i came in; Nice hairpin bend; View; Valley; Next area of parking (can see the marks from some handrake usage on the gravel.... ); On a bit further; And, a gratuitous pic of the car, looking all used and dirty ;

Octy II VRS TDI - Tuning Options?
djgritt replied to paulwakinshaw's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I've looked at mine in the past when you put up pics of the S3 one - my pipes definitely exit at the bottom - it also has an Alloy or Steel pipe to take the charge from the Turbo Compressor to the 'Cooler, take it this is correct? It's definitely something i'd consider doing myself, have you had any RR Runs with the S3 Cooler in to see if its made any difference to the figures? IIRC, you reported the car felt different (improved) with it fitted?... -
Octy II VRS TDI - Tuning Options?
djgritt replied to paulwakinshaw's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Is the Intercooler used on the TFSi the same as that used on the TDi? If so, is it viable to use the S3 Alloy Cooler as Stu has done things with on his TFSi? If so, thats something i'd be considering for mine next Autumn...
