  1. An endorsement from a jailed lawyer isn't the best, but as "Stormy Daniels" former lawyer, Avenatti ought to know. https://t witter.com/MichaelAvenatti (Remove the space in "t witter" to use the link. If I embed the working link, you get away too many tweets.) One down, several remaining to go.
  2. Do you know which is the version with port injection and which is direct injection only, as that would be a decision factor for me?
  3. Incidentally, I was happy to give Andy Street the Spanish archer by staying at home. I did think about rocking up and spoiling my ballot, but decided against it. Probably will spoil my ballot (in the absence of a real conservative option) in the next GE. Then I'll just have to "Ride the Tiger" during the next Labour administration and hope they screw things up enough for a decent right-wing party to form. Hopefully people won't fall for Farage's "Campaign then Cuck" election campaign again, but people are desperate, so I dare say many might, especially with the sympathetic press a faux right-winger like Farage will get. Surely his "Man of the people with a pint" act fools nobody these days?
  4. I never understood the argument that voter ID somehow favoured one party or another. Lack of voter ID certainly favours anyone who wants to rig an election. Khan was the most popular of a load of unpopular candidates. Most people eligible to vote, didn't. Of those who did vote, most voters didn't vote for Khan. But a win's a win, and in the FPTP system, Khan was a decisive winner. 👑 So it's back to business as usual for Londoners, God help them! 😄
  5. The Golf R is a strong scally-magnet. I know someone near me who had one and he had three different attempts to steal if off his drive. (His was also an estate) He loved the car but got rid of it eventually as he couldn't be doing with the aggro.
  6. Still live on the website. That's pretty slow of them. 😞
  7. I'm sure that will work for Labour as well as it did for the SNP. 😄
  8. You only need to justify yourself when you can be held accountable.
  9. Only if people are allowed to talk about it, and there seem to be moves to put a stop to that. https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/6090/text
  10. The rust isn't an issue, but those grooves on the disk strike me as unusual on a car with only 6K miles, if not particular cause for concern.
  11. The smartphone holder was ridiculously implemented. I don't know what phone they expected would fit into that. Mine is knocking around somewhere, but it is an annoyingly useless lump of rubber.
  12. It's early days yet, and the political temperature is clearly rising over there. A lot of people on SM are saying "Ireland is for the Irish!", but I haven't seen a clear definition of what actually makes someone Irish. (That said, a lot of SM noise can be made by a few determined activists, so the online noise might not accurately represent the actual grassroots mood.) I thought being Irish was a paper citizenship thing, as per the current narrative, which means anyone can arrive in Ireland, and with the right paperwork become Irish. But it seems for some it's an ethnicity, and there are "Irish" people living across the globe. (Quite a "far-right" position, from some perspectives.) Some even claim to have a "percentage" of Irish ethnicity, whatever that means in 2024. 🤷‍♂️ The shape-shifting between paper citizenship and genetic ethnicity narratives can be quite dizzying to watch, but I expect that, as with most apparently contradictory narratives, it's "complicated".
  13. Looks like checkpoints are back on the menu, boys! It takes you back, doesn't it?
  14. Immigration if not THE big issue in 2024 will be a priority issue at the 2024 election, hence all the posturing. Even the Conservatives have briefly taken their balls out of the Left's handbag to try and sound tough on immigration. (Again.) Meanwhile, the immigration issues in Ireland are starting to be felt by more and more people. Perhaps not yet out in the Pleasantville little corners where affluent Briskodians live, but in urban areas, the Irish natives (if such a thing still exists), are increasingly restless. Their inability to object to the addition of "much needed diversity and enrichment" without taking a punishment-beating from the state is causing distress.
