  1. Hello! I look forward to the pics.
  2. Hello and welcome, @BadActor. Have a look in here for tips and advice. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/382-electric-vehicles/
  3. Some people are violent scumbags and will use any excuse to kick off. Having to wait for a charger is as good a reason as any.
  4. Oh it absolutely will get to that, the only question is when.
  5. "Charge rage" is just getting going. It'll be interesting to see how this phenomenon evolves. Sooner or later, someone is going to get stabbed by some lunatic who's not prepared to wait for a charger. https://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/24225945/ev-chargers-furious-rows-between-angry-drivers/
  6. I had a look at my long term MPG today, and it was a little over 40MPG. Nowhere near my headline figures, but a reasonable reflection of how I drive, and in the grand scheme of things, not bad at all, given the fact it will go acceptably briskly if I want it to.
  7. Do you know what the compatibility between the various vehicles and their seats is?
  8. What an odd story. 🤔

    Hello and welcome, @Gadger.
  10. I'm not a mechanic, but I'd be getting a satisfactory repair done as cheaply as solving the problem allows, and then part-exchanging the car ASAP. If nothing else, just now you don't have to pass any MOT emissions tests, so if you've damaged part of your emissions control system in such a way you don't pass the MOT emissions test, then that will be a big bill just as you're finishing your warranty period if you hang onto it. If you're going to keep the car for many years, then a full no-expense-spared repair might be appropriate and give you peace of mind. If you don't keep your car for ages, then I'd say repair and dump it ASAP.
  11. Wow! I'm sorry you've had such an unfortunate experience with your car. But I'm also a bit impressed the car had room for what must be is excess of 9 litres of oil. Good luck with the repair, hopefully you can find a cheaper fix for the problem. 🤞
  12. I have a 2019 2.0TSI and I don't think the battery liked the car being sat on a lot for 6 months during lockdown. Stop start usually doesn't actually work unless it's had a really good run first. I disable it as it almost never seems to be in the mood to work when needed and sometimes kicks in when not. Might be another fault, but I don't think my car's battery benefitted from the 6 month hiatus.
  13. Oops! Forgot to answer the question. No. The figures are as the car provides them.
  14. Hi @Gerrycan! It really doesn't take much for the economy of my car to drop quite dramatically. But, I do drive on ECO mode a lot of the time, in fact I'd say most of the time. As far as I know, the remap didn't change what happens in ECO. When I'm pootling about in ECO, I only have 250Nm to play with (same as a 1.5TSI) , plus the benefit of the Budack set up. (Though sadly no 2-cylinder mode). I'm not entirely convinced the DRIVE mode was changed, either, though I don't have reduced toque in DRIVE, so maybe it was, I dunno. But SPORT mode is different, and I seldom use that unless I need the additional performance to join a busy road and it will help me match traffic speed more easily. It really is quite brisk in SPORT mode, following the remap. Generally on my journey to work, I'm somewhere in the low to mid 40's. Only when things are quiet and the lights are with me can I break 50MPG on my commute. On a long run, 50+MPG is reasonably achievable, unless I use the extra performance or traffic is horrible, in which case it drops into the 40s. Short runs when cold are its Achilles' heel, and I get mid to low 30s on very short urban runs, no matter how careful I am.
  15. Don't be too quick to write off your car, if it's a good runner. Yes, you might want shot of it, but it might be worth a bit more than you expect in these crazy times. At least it has the virtue of not being vomit-stained and an MOT nightmare. 👍 Good luck!
  16. The reason I ask, is because I found it very useful when considering a new car, to look at the cost to swap, which in your case is going to be about £3500-£3800, and ask what you're getting for you're £3500. If your Fiesta really is a pile of garbage, and the Fabia is running okay and is in nice condition, then you can decide whether it's worth the cost to change.
  17. I had not heard of PoInspector. As an alternative, I didn't know you could toggle POIs on and off. So you've solved my problem. 😊 Thank you! 🤝
  18. Have a mooch about on the Performance and Tuning forum. 👍 https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/212-performance-tuning-upgrades/
  19. Hello and welcome, Chris!
  20. Yeah I've heard this claim made by Michelin. "Strong" is a somewhat odd term to use when describing tyre performance, and allows plenty of wriggle room for interpretation. It might be true that 1.6mm of treat will shift water out of the way as well as 6mm, but I'd like to see some independent tests evidence to support it.
  21. My Turanza 001's had about 5mm on when I replaced them due to cracking. I normally swap tyres when the tread depth reaches about 3mm. https://www.rospa.com/rospaweb/docs/advice-services/road-safety/vehicles/tyre-tread-depth.pdf
  22. Never heard of them, Graham. I have to say I like the tyre size embossed in the tread though. That's a neat design. But cheap rubber is cheap for a reason. https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre/Riken/Riken-UHP.htm https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2023-Summer-Tyre-Market-Overview.htm
  23. Hello! It looks like some rubber beautification chemical has been applied at some point. Might be worth trying rubber care product, or a care and protect product. For care I like this. For protection, I like this.
