  1. Looking to get Oil filter, oil and sump plug for my TSI280 2018. I can find multiple filters under this number in Autodoc but on TPS website I find nothing despite others quoting this is where you get genuine parts. When i put my reg in it offers me batteries or wipers only. Any idea what I`m doing wrong. Happy to go with alternative but was going to try genuine first Also on Autodoc the FEBI BILSTEIN sump plug says without sealing ring, is this correct or do i need to buy this separate?
  2. Dsg service completed today. I bought the parts including the hose to do the job and my mechanic worked his magic. Cost me £180 all in.
  3. Done both at same time
  4. Yes, that's what I have done. Only the shocks were changed. Huge improvement.
  5. I have had 3 sets of tyres on mine and never had the rear inside wear until Now. Either the Tyre pressures have not been correct or changing the shocks have knocked it off. So if yours is wearing also get the suspension and alignment checked would be my advice
  6. Seems like very good advice toot, and I must admit I have become a little lazy over the last few years and guilty of assuming people working on your car do the right thing. My job involves me checking that people do what's asked and generally they need a bit prompting or some sort of follow up. We are all human after all.
  7. I'm running 2.6bar all round as per the plate on the car for reduced load. I did find the Tyre pressure a bit lower when I discovered I had puncture and checked others. Maybe they have been adjusted wrongly at a service without me knowing. Keeping an eye on wear now I have tracking done and pressures set.
  8. Would anyone be interested in buying my original emblems. They came off in one piece so guessing I could have just painted them black instead of the overseas option.
  9. Well got the alignment checked and the rear was out. £60 to adjust. Hopefully that's it now.
  10. So I should get the tracking checked? Earlier post suggests that it can only be caused by over loading or defective springs.
  11. I don`t have any abnormal heavy loads, normally just dogs. Don`t tow anything. Going to contact a garage who does alignment on 4wd cars and see what they say. Slightly frustrating that i still have about 5mm on my rear tyres. Need to check the rules again on tread
  12. Got a puncture on the rear of the car (2018,estate,280 45k) took it for repair tonight. Whilst wheel was off noticed the inside edges of both my rear tyres are badly worn. Garage says the alignment must be out. I had new shocks a few weeks ago but think the wear must have been happening before? They are advising I get new tyres and a 4wd alignment done. Not what I was expecting heading for a 20 quid repair. Has anyone seen Similiar issues?
  13. I have went with the FIBI Bilstein kit as per the guide from autodoc.
  14. No it's early 2018 so I believe it should have the earlier 6 speed. Unless the box already has a fault and won't engage the 7th gear 😂
  15. Has anyone bought a service kit for the DSG Dq250 gearbox lately. Where did you get it from. Due the 40k service on my 2018 280 Sport line. I seen the thread detailing how to and referenced one kit. Just want to know if there is a Manufacturers recommended kit. Think the one referenced was an aftermarket. The how to guide is excellent and very comprehensive. Just want to make sure I order the right kit for my indy guy to fit.
  16. Well the two badges arrived yesterday without issue. No additional import payments. Just need to get the fitted now
  17. Which one did you buy, I see a few at £69.99?
  18. That`s been a week with the new Bilstein B6 non DCC dampers. Using original springs. Everything that others have said is accurate. Much more stable through corners, huge improvement in dampening, not hitting bump stops. Road imperfections, potholes etc feel much less crashy than standard. Money well spent.
  19. So I have been exploring the options of getting the replacements springs thinking that the source in US is quite expensive. Had a couple of quotes and the reality is that to get them made, even in reasonable numbers its just about as cheap to buy them. I`m not sure how much interest there would be or demand for that matter if I was to stump up for the fabrication of a batch. Its not clear exactly which other cars use the same one and if they could be sold on to cover costs.
  20. I ordered black badges from Kopacek yesterday and got an email today saying I need to agree to pay all costs associated with the import. Has anyone else received this and how much am i likely to be charged for the two badges , they are already 108Euros!! thinkign about cancelling and trying to remove originals in one piece and DIY them
  21. I also have Michelin cross climate 2 and can say they are very quiet. All round good Tyre if a little expensive.
  22. Thought I would get this done today. Super useful guide. Thanks. When I opened the switch it looked really clean. Gave the Pcb a quick rub with some cleaning alcohol and put it back together thinking it wouldn't change. I was wrong, problem solved. First push it kicks in.
  23. So I got to the bottom of my issue today. Symptoms - multiple lights on dash including ABS, cornering lights , automatic Cruise control faults. Driving back to the garage the front right wheel started rumbling. I was also getting engine power limits and the traction control light coming on. Got to the garage and directed them it was something to do with the front wheel. They found the magnetic ring on the wheel bearing stripped. Whilst doing the suspension , some dirt/debris got in behind the wheel bearing. Never seated properly and worked loose and stripped. New wheel bearing. Problem solved and no electrical errors.
  24. It was all, just had new Bilstein B6 all round. I do recall the infotainment system flashing on and off once before. Never happened again till now. Don't know if it's coincidence or not.
